EXCELLENT LOCALE FOR TOURISM. SHOPPING, BEACH, ENTERTAINMENT ETC.

Great location, great free breakfast, good laundry facilities. Nice and helpful staff- gave us information about the area and were friendly. Double deluxe room was spacious and comfortable.
As it is located beside the busy venice street, it gets loud at night time, especially during weekends. Bit of an odd smell in the room, which we felt got onto our clothes.

The staff were super helpful, lovely & accomodating. They even gave me mace to walk around at night as I didn’t feel safe. Honestly they went out of their way to make sure I was comfortable as they could see that I wasn’t.
Location felt very unsafe. it's sketchy af. Anyone who says the homeless are harmless well that’s untrue, was attacked by one a few months prior in LA, in broad daylight. Place is quite dirty& smelly. Nail clippings on floor, hair on sheets, smelly pillows, clogged drains, sticky surfaces, mouse trap in the kitchen, furniture that looks like it died 100 years ago. Place is also loud from street noise, so any review that states that they ‘stayed with their kids & it was clean & quiet’ well I guarantee that’s not a real guest. Never leave bad reviews but I’m hoping that they take action on what needs updating. Also want to warn other solo female travellers about safety. Can’t even say you get what you paid for cause this place is expensive for what’s offered ~ Over $120AUS a night! For not much more you can get your own hotel room. As for the included breakfast well it's a nice touch but won’t appeal to healthy eaters.

Location is perfect, you can see the ocean by the balcony. My shared room was cleaned everyday and was super super clean. Also the bathroom. Good space, big windows. There's a balcony outside where you can buy your own drink and smoke cigarettes. Is the nicest place because is where I've met a lot of travellers from all around the world. Made a lot of friends. Our nights aways finished there. Yoshi is a really nice guy, and the staff is really good, specially Asha, Zane and Carell. They help you with everything and make all possible to make you feel comfortable. I loved the place, it's a big hostel. I have been in US for a month and this was the best part of my trip! definitely will stay there again when I come back!
Nothing. Everything was perfect.

- The location is good IF you are in the mood for partying, because there was music loud until very late and I couldnt sleep.
We didnt like many things:
- The room was not as confortable as expected.
- Something that really made me mad was that we left all our food in the fridge and the next day we left at 6h30 to go to Universal Studios and the kitchen was closed!!!! Nobody told us it opened only at 8am. In the end, we had to have breakfast in a café and I spent 20 dollars unnecessarily. I don't understand why closing the kitchen. AND also you can't take food upstairs to the rooms. So I guess the hostel wants us to plan our day based on their schedule or eat outside? So frustating.
- The location is also REALLY NOISY. We just wanted to sleep but the music stays very very loud until late in the night. We didn't like it, but I guess it depends on the person.
- I dont think the price we paid to stay there was worth it. Besides, the parking fees around the area as REALLY expensive so we paid 87 dollars to leave the car for 2 nights in a parking lot in the area. Which was REALLY expensive. In the end, we left the hostel to go to a hotel and it was cheaper since parking was free (and the accomodation much better).

Good location and common space. Canadian guy checking me in was solid.
Price was super high, room was odd and mattress felt like it had broken wooden boards inside of it.

I enjoyed my time at Venice Beach hostel. Easy accessible to the beach and to all the other festivities especially on the west side of LA. I’ve even extended my stay here due to the level of security and comfort I felt.
Maybe a little more breakfast options, especially for the plant based like myself.

Perfect location at the Venice Beach, couldn’t be better. Very friendly stuff.
Quite old furniture, very pricey for a hostel.

Great location just of Venice Beach - nice hostel with good communal areas. Staff were very helpful
There was a DJ playing on the street below until late into the night. This could have been because of Labour Day weekend, but it was super loud and kept us awake. Also, I thought it was a little over-priced

The location is great! Right in the middle of everything, if you like to party. It's also right by the beach. The staff was awesome, especially when I wanted to extend my stay. And they cleaned the room and bathroom everyday
Only thing I didn't like was they didn't have outlets by the beds but my bed was by the extension cord, so I was able to use that.

Amazing location! I ended up getting my own room so cheap compare to others around there. Well ran very professional but friendly. Highly recommend

Absolute vibe of true hostel - hippie and fun. In the center of crazy Venice beach. Stuff was friendly and cool. People inside was different and interesting.

Friendly, enthusiastic staff. Rooms were very nice.
Lots of stairs. Exhausting after running on the beach all day. The neighborhood is very rowdy.

Private rooms are a plus and the location is close to the Beach.
I rented a two bedroom with 3 people. This is a perfectly reasonable thing to do in any hotel in a private room. Venice beach added 90 bucks to our two night stay for having 3 people despite us inconveniencing no one. Would have been cheaper to go to a hotel. There is no parking nearby. For a two night stay we paid 80 dollars in parking. The hostel was incredibly loud. Would not recommend and a low point of my trip.

The room was really, really big. Great place to have as the home base for adventures. The bathroom worked good. We didn't hang out much in the common areas as we were out a lot, then came back to sleep. The facilities were great. It is also good to have a hostel in Venice Beach, as there are not many in the US. People at the skate park were great. LOVED the SKATE PARK!!! I skated all day... 9am to 6pm.
Not much to complain about the place. Just the homeless and dirtiness from that. We came to Venice to skate and hang at the beach, people watch, etc. Buy a few souvenirs. The bathrooms by the skate park are the worst.
