The location on the river and the elegant bar/ restaurant/ reception areas are a real plus. The decoration and racing related memorabilia in the hotel and grounds make for a unique experience. We were made to feel welcome on arrival and offered tea and cake. A member of staff politely guided us to our room and helped us to settle in. Excellent breakfast service. Large rooms with river views. Proximity to areas of scenic beauty. We availed of the offer of free tickets to the Clonmel Racecourse and spent a pleasant at this very scenic racetrack.

The pool and the hotel's association with Minella Times - enjoyed visiting the stud nearby
Reason why I've knocked off a few stars was that the breakfast was mediocre - alot of staff but food so/so

close to the event we came for. beautiful hotel from what we saw and lovely staff.
thought there could of been some complementary water in hotel room. lift wasn’t working almost got stuck. for the price I paid for one night I thought breakfast would of been included as one night was almost €200.

The location was good!
The hotel is very run down and there was a smell of damp in the room! The cost of the room was not worth it and the staff were not that helpful. I was very surprised that it has a four star rating when I arrived to the location.

The room was a king and it was very nice and spacious with excellent ensuite but breakfast was not included - however we did eat in the restaurant and the food was excellent. The staff were friendly and attentive and we enjoyed complimentary tea and coffee on arrival. The hotel has a fabulous setting on the river and the hotel itself is spotless.
It was our first return visit on our 35th anniversary since our honeymoon in 1987 - the hotel knew this but did not even acknowledge the importance of the occasion to us - a little disappointing.

The room, bed and view were great. The staff also had some nice touches. It has charm and the leisure centre is very very good. The garden and surrounds and location are beautiful.
Some of the hotel is a little old and could do with an uplift but not the main areas. It is also very good value for money and is down to earth and homely.
