BREAKFAST: the breakfast was great and the LADY SUPER KIND <3. She was definetely the BEST (and only) part of our stay.
The room was clean.
We totally understand it is an old place, as most of hotels in Venezia - however the hotel needs urgentely some simple mantainance:
1) the red-old-carpet at the stairs entrance already gives you the tone "oh-oh I made a wrong choice",
2) I was pregnant and they sent us to a room with bunch of stairs.
3) BUT WORST: it was that it was extremelly hot and air conditioner didnt work. We call the front desk, and the guy answered that "NON OF THE AIR CONDITIONER IN VENEZIA was working, bc they were changing seasons". We couldnt let the window open to ventilate bc it was full of mosquitos! - next morning our brother that was in another room said his air conditioner was working well, but he prefered to turn off bc it was ver smelly. Also, the airconditioner in the breakfast areas was working perfectely (just in the last monrning when talking about the mosquitos with the lady in the breakfast area, that we spontaneuously mentioned we could have asked for the anti-mosquitos plug in the front desk.... WHY DIDNT THE Front Desk man, didnt tell us in advance instead of LIE about the air conditoner and advice us to use this plug?
While there is not mantainance, DONT BOOK THIS HOTEL

Great location and the staff seemed to be good at english and they seemed nice and happy. Very nice that they had hand sanitizer at the enterence! Overall a great stay!

That I booked through Priceline for 3 person room. Beds were shown for 3 as well. When I got there it was for a reservation of 2. So I was charged more when I specifically made sure I was booking for 3. Shame on Priceline and booking.com

Marco on reception was brilliant. He was so helpful. He sorted out some train tickets for us and let us stay an extra night in a suite at the same rate as we'd paid for a standard room. This is a 3 star hotel with 5 star service. The breakfast was excellent. The head server knew our tea and coffee preferences by the second day!

The breakfast was AMAZING!!!
The location was challenging while dragging luggage. The shower was too small. Hit my elbows on both sides trying to wash my hair. Very little room.

The breakfast, location, and room were good. Paid for the larger room, but just note that the bathroom (specially the shower) are still very small.
The power was out in the entire hotel from roughly 7 pm to 10 pm. No correspondence from the hotel took place. After an hour the emergency lights in the hallway went out. Then, the next day the hot water was out. Again, no correspondence from staff. When I enquired about the hot water being out they said that it was out in the entire hotel and someone would be on the way to fix it. No apology, no reduction of the cost of the stay....very disappointing response by staff.

I liked how close the property was to the nearby restaurants and tourist attractions. The bed was really comfortable and of course Marco our receptionist was extremely welcoming and very helpful in informing us about what we could do and nearby restaurants that were very good - ps. the restaurants he recommended were good value for money!! I liked how vintage the place looked as well - it really made me feel as if I was staying in an authentic Italian accommodation.
the shower kept on overflowing whilst I was showering so it made the shower experience unpleasant. the toilet was very low but then again it did give the bathroom more character but I do think more work can be done in the bathrooms especially in making sure things function well. Lastly, a hotel needs to have an iron so for the mere fact that they weren’t able to provide us with an iron really dampened the experience.

Everything was really great. The staff are extremely friendly. I would like to express my gratitude to Ms. Monica who was really very friendly, kind, and helpful. She provided really nice recommendations for the activities, restaurant, concerts, and visits in Venice. The room was very clean, so was the bathroom. They can offer you water and hot drinks almost all the time and the breakfast was also great in terms of food and the nice staff who meet you with a kin smile each morning. The location of the hotel is also very good as it is nearly close to everything and easily reachable from the statin Santa Lucia by walking, water taxi r a mixture between walking and fairy.
I am really satisfied and want to recommend this place for other travelers

The staff were very friendly and accommodating! The location is a quick walk to the San Marco Piazza. We stayed in one of their least expensive rooms and it was smaller than an American hotel room, but (hey) everything in Venice is compact and close together. We would definitely stay at Hotel Mercurio again!
