colonial hotel that was great once but for those who love more modern and not dusty interior, well, pick a different spot. breakfasts need clearly a touch, for 2 weeks of our stay it never changed and it was quite poor to be honest. would recommend having breakfast elsewhere.

The location was perfect - close enough to the centre but far enough away to avoid too much noise.

This is a hotel that in its day would have been spectacular. Now though, it is run on a shoe string and the current owner has no idea about Health and Safety or customer care. We booked the room on the basis of having air conditioning, which we would not have used if we had not been put in a room at the front of the hotel which meant we heard the coming and going’s of people at night. We advised the reception of the inoperative system and were told that they would get it looked at. Duly a man was sent to look at it but failed to knock and simply walked into the room as we were in bed! subsequently we were told that the owner would not turn it on as otherwise the whole floor would have air conditioning !! When we checked out, I raised this amongst other issues and the owner became irate and claimed that the Government had forced him to turn off the air conditioning. If that was true, why not say that at the outset instead of telling us it would be fixed and then that the owner wouldn’t turn it on. I tried to explain some of the other issues - dangerous stair carpets, broken stair handrails and that despite being a spa, the outside pool was closed and you had to pay to use the inside pool! His reaction was such that he demanded I leave the hotel and rebuked me for deigning to raise the issues! I recommend people choose another hotel - Montecatini has a wide variety and I suspect they will be more welcoming and value for money.

Lovely setting, location, rooms. The staff is excellent... Erminio and that wonderful lady from Siena ( don't remember her name) Perfectly placed between Florence and Pisa. Free parking. SPA access and jacuzzi in the room!!!

the bathroom is not compatible to a suite room. the shower is terrible to small

facilities and location were good but the whole place needs a facelift. it is rather tired
