Fabulous place! Would definitely stay again. It’s a great location & very quiet for being in the center of town. Una is a great host - she made sure we were settled in & had everything we needed.
The house is super clean, comfortable & well appointed. We just loved it! Thanks Una for making our stay so perfect!

We loved the property. It was extremely attractive. everything had been renovated. The Botanical garden at the Friarly was absolutely outstanding. We enjoyed Weirs pub. There is lots to do in the area.

We arrived early but it was no trouble at all. We were greeted and shown around. Una brought over some homemade brown bread and butter. It was delicious. Wish I had some now. I loved the small, quaint and extremely friendly community feel to everything. Una gave us some areas to see like the friary, Abbey Blooms & Tullynally castle & garden. The house has everything you need. The house sits in between 2 pubs and a park across the street. There’s a little grocery store a few steps away. It was nice to have a backyard for my child to play outside with a ball. The beds were super comfortable and I got a great nights sleep both nights. It was lovely to have a washer and dryer as well. Una was a phenomenal hostess. We absolutely enjoyed her home. Cheers.

Four ladies stayed at this beautiful, fully-equipped home during a girls trip. The beds were comfortable (especially the pillows ;] ) and the kitchen was fully equipped. When we were hungry for dinner, we simply walked 50 meters to the delicious and fun Weirs Pub & Restaurant. The hosts are incredible- full of tips on places to go and places to eat, including their wonderful restaurant right next door. We will be staying there again.

We have stayed at this home before. It was the same as we remembered it from last time. Safe. Comfortable. Convenient. We love the owners and hope to be able to visit again in the future. For anyone wanting a central base from which to explore Ireland, this is a perfect location. Thanks for the hospitality!

We arrived a bit early with no problem. We stayed a bit late with no problem.
Try not to compare with our stay at a castle, the Weirs made us feel like royalty. Make sure to enjoy the food and drink (Guinness) at the restaurant next door. But above all the staff was exceptional. We feel Jenna should get a very large wage increase!
Loved every minute. Thank you! See you in a year!

Completely renovated/modernized stone home nestled between the two village pubs with a walled and peaceful courtyard in back. Wonderful and attentive hosts. If self-driving, it's easy to get to historic sites and shopping. Perfect start to our Ireland vacation.

Our stay was enjoyable. We had a lot of space in the home, backyard for the children to play, everything in the kitchen we needed. The property owner Una was very pleasant. I would go back there again.

We came from the States to reconnect with family in Westmeath. Lovely location in a quaint town. Una is lovely, welcoming, and helpful. We had everything we needed with comfy beds, laundry, full kitchen, and space to spread out.

The house was perfect and met all of our needs (including a washer AND dryer). The hosts were fantastic and we got to spend some time with them at their pub next door. We had a lovely time here and I would HIGHLY recommend this home.

This cottage was everything it promised and a perfect home base for us while visiting Ireland. Many sites were within two hours and we loved having the peaceful village of Multyfarnham to return to each evening. The owners were responsive to any request and had the home stocked with all essentials. For our family of four plus my mother, it was perfect in every way. Unlike staying in Dublin (which we have done in the past), Multyfarnham is a small town so you can park right in front of the home each day and easily head to local sites and cafes. The pub next door (owned by the cottage owners) is delightful. We would definitely come again and recommend this cottage to anyone looking to stay a 1-2 hour drive from Dublin, Galway, Sligo and a host of other sites.

Wonderful home in a tranquil village!
We absolutely loved our stay in Una's home! Very clean, very comfortable beds, very welcoming & comfortable home. The village is so pretty & tranquil. We had everything we needed, and Una was right next door/a quick phone call away if needed. We enjoyed our morning walks around the village. Loved Abbey Blooms garden & coffee shop - delicious & supporting a very worthwhile cause.
It's a quick 10 minute drive into Mullengar for shopping.
We will definitely stay here again!

Lovely experience.
We were 3 couples from varying parts of UK and Australia. The property was ideal having 3 bathrooms and plenty of space for us to relax. Pat & Una were exceptional hosts and the hospitality of the Irish shone through. Would certainly recommend a visit.

Home from home at home......
We had a fantastic stay and try as hard as we can, we cannot fault one single thing about the property, location, or experience. One of our party remembers frequenting Multyfarnham 40 years ago and was so pleased it was mostly still the same.
A forty minute walk to the lake shore at Donore is a fabulous way to start the day while a meal and a few drinks in Weirs next door rounds it off beautifully.
Another member of our party came with us on his first overseas trip and the whole experience left a lasting impression on him.
From the layout of the property (the extra bathrooms were a godsend) to the presence of Max, the owners dog who cheered everybody up just by being there, it was all brilliant and it worked out so well for all of us.
Special mentions to Una, Pat, all the bar/ kitchen staff, Killybegs Chowder, Guinness how it should be, Bread and butter pudding. For making us all feel so welcome, thank you very much.
Hopefully see you next year, good health and happiness to you all.
PS. We were gutted when we discovered that Bunbrosna beat Multyfarnham by 1 point.

Spacious house in great location
The house is in the centre of a beautiful village with easy access to major roads for travel to all parts of Ireland. Every need is catered for and we had a most comfortable stay. Una greeted us warmly and showed us everything we needed to know. We were visiting different family members every day so didn't get the chance to visit her pub and restaurant next door, but everyone told us we should have. Next time hopefully. Highly recommended.

Absolutely Loved the house very accommodating for a family of six. No need to go far to eat, the pub next door had excellent food selection and the atmosphere was very friendly. Una is a great host she made sure we had everything and recommended some wonderful places to visit.

At Home in the Midlands
My husband, son and I stayed a week at Maureen's House while spending a month abroad in Ireland. It's a beautifully decorated, spacious house that had everything we needed, including the best beds and linens of the trip. The living area is set up perfectly for family lounging, which is quite unusual when traveling but so nice when traveling with kids. Being able to unwind at the end of the day with a family movie felt like home.
I made many meals in the large kitchen and we got all caught up on our laundry with the washing machine and dryer. My husband and I were working remotely for this week and the Wifi was absolutely spotless. The back garden is beautiful. Max the dog and the stray cats and kittens made me miss my cats back home just a little less. Max has the waggiest tail I've ever seen! He is a very sweet, happy chap. My son loved him.
All three of us were very happy and comfortable there. Pat and Una are warm, welcoming hosts who made us feel at home in the village and helped us to better experience the Midlands. We enjoyed wonderful food at their restaurant several times over the week as well as some excellent live music and company there on Friday night. Our week in Multyfarnham was a perfect respite at the middle of our trip.
Thank you, Una and Pat! We hope to meet you again.

Great location, great hosts!!
We stayed three nights in Multyfarnham and I have to say that Una was really super and did everything possible to make our stay enjoyable! From accepting the delivery of our lost luggage, to delivering our Sunday lunch to the garden of the house! Many thanks again, Una!

Excellent accommodation in great location with welcoming hosts
We stayed at the cottage in Westmeath as it was a great mid-point location for visiting relatives. Cottage was an excellent choice - had all the rooms, space and facilities we needed for a comfortable stay, plus Una and Pat were great welcoming hosts at the cottage and their pub next door. Food at the pub was excellent too - everyone enjoyed what they ordered and make sure you leave room for the desserts because they were a real treat. Based on our experience, would revisit and highly recommend to others. Thanks Una & Pat

Fantastic
We could not have asked for better hosts during our stay. We we're welcomed with open hearts and minds. We ended up staying an extra day because Hurricane Ophelia hit. I would suggest this spot to anyone wanting a central location for exploring, along with a spot to truly feel like part of the community. The restaurant next door is exquisite, and pubs on both sides is just a bonus. We will definitely be back someday.

Modern home in a quaint Irish Village
We spent our second week in Ireland in Multyfarnham, a village off the beaten tourist track but within driving distance to all the places we wanted to see, including an easy trip to Dublin for an overnight stay. Galway, Trim Castle, Slane, Lough Crew and Clomacnoise were easy day trips. We were a group of five adults and we had plenty of room in this house. The bedrooms were comfortable, the modern showers and bathrooms a pleasant surprise and the kitchen had all the features we needed. The 750 year old Franciscan Abby is within walking distance and a must-see for it's beautiful grounds and peaceful setting. Una and Pat were welcoming and helpful and staying between two pubs was definitely a highlight!

Dream Vacation
This was a once in a lifetime trip for our family and Pat and Una made it even more special with their accommodations and hospitality. We loved feeling like we were part of the community and they made us feel like more than just guests. The house was perfect for us and the kids. Plenty of space and nice accommodations. By far the best bed I have ever slept in. Most days it took all we had to drag ourselves out of it. The pub was a great place to hang out and had amazing food. I hope you are lucky enough to catch Pat and Gary one night to enjoy their musical talents. If you want to really experience Ireland I highly recommend you stay in Multyfarnham with the Weir Family. We are already planning our next Ireland visit. Check out an example of this amazing place and people by visiting Weir Bar & Restaurant on Facebook to catch Pat's weekly blog with updates from the community.

Off the Beaten Path
This is a GREAT place to stay. It is about an hour from the Dublin airport. I booked it for the end of our trip after we had made a loop from Dublin to the West and back. We were a party of six and had pretty much done enough sightseeing by the time we got there, so the time we spent in the village was more of a cultural experience. There are some interesting things in the area that you won't read about in tourist guides. Una and Peter (and pub staff) are very helpful and will give advise on that - Fore, the Bog, the Friary, etc. My husband enjoyed the fact that there were two pubs in town and the rental is physically attached to both! We stayed Saturday - Monday nights and learned that Weir's Pub kitchen is closed on Mondays. Other reviews mentioned the food is good. The food is VERY good. It is easily among the best we had on the trip. (I recommend the potato skins!) So the village is a little off the beaten tourist path, but this is a really NICE place to stay for the variety of reasons noted.

Thoroughly pleasurable stay!
We stayed for only two nights whilst we attended a family wedding in the area and found the property to be fantastic throughout. The village was also lovely, and the restaurant next door had a great atmosphere and great food! It was a shame we were there for such a short time because we would've loved to have stayed for longer and explored the local area. I am very grateful to the lovely Una for her hospitality. Highly recommended!

Was our home away from home
I don't even know where to start or what to say. Me and 2 of my friends knew nothing about this place but we were welcomed with open arms. The house is immaculate and perfectly located in the beautiful village of Multyfarnham. It is in a perfect location, an hour outside of Dublin and close to all the sites. We knew nothing about Multy before we booked but all 3 of us are sooooo happy that we booked this property. Weirs Pub is right next door and there is another pub on opposite side but we never made it to that pub because Weirs Pub became our second home away from home. The staff at Weirs Pub were all wonderful and especially our friend George!!(were strangers the first few hours but quickly hit it off and became friends). Pat and Una were out of town for the first few nights but their staff took care of all of our needs. This was one of the best vacations we have ever had. We were welcomed by a lot of the people from the village and I can say we left with a lot of new friends. The owners (Pat and Una) are amazing people and we just clicked with them right away. I would like to say that we became friends with them as well. I could keep on writing but no words will do justice for how great our trip was. If you have an opportunity book this property ASAP, you will not be disappointed. We fell in love with Multy and we can't wait to come back. Thank you again Pat and Una and George, Terry, Chris, Peter, (I can keep on listing the names of the people from the village)...we left with great memories but more importantly we left with a lot of new friends and we can't wait to come back next year!!
With love.....Rick, Stephen, and Maritza

Nice and roomy with a Pub next door. How great is that.
Location was perfect. It was in a village of about 350 and the larger town of Mullingar was only 7-8 miles down the Carriageway. The house itself was situated between two Pubs, can't beat that. The Weir's pub and restaurant, owned and operated by Una and Pat, was just 45' from my front door. The food, beer and service was excellent. Award winning actually. It snowed 3 out of my first 6 days. Just a powdering. Stuck for an hour maybe. Was actually wonderful to wake up to. The house was warm and I had plenty of hot water, which is not always the case in other rentals. Both Pat and Una had good suggestions of sites I should see. I would highly recommend this rental for its comfort, location and landlords. Nicely situated in the midlands. Have fun.
