Bala House it’s located at approx. 2km from the city center. We usually came back by foot, but you have also the bus station next to it. The room was cozy, clean and really comfortable. The staff was really kind and helpful. Good price. Overall really satisfied 😊

The toilet was up stairs, but it was good enough for this price.

Room was cold with no option to turn on heating and no additional duvets. Due to floorboards (not carpeted) could hear people walking around upstairs through the night. Location was further away from the city centre than expected.

VERY NOISY - we could hear all the other guests. We got a room right next to the main door, at night we were afraid that someone was in our room. small creaky bed with one blanket. heating not working, very cold nights.

The gentleman who let us in at night and offered us some nice cookies.

The room was great for us. The location was ideal as it was close to all the bus rutes and taxis to go into town. It was very clean and tidy and the staff we saw were very helpful.

It was a shame that you could hear everything going on in other rooms and the stairs were very creaky. Also the fact that you couldn't get breakfast nearby. I also thought it was a bit strange to go upstairs and always take a key to the bathroom and lock it before going back to the room.

The lady who checked us in was lovely. The location is good, it is a little bit out of the centre but the busses are frequent and it's not too much of a walk either. Room was cleaned daily and refreshments tray replenished. Bathroom was nicely decorated and clean. Could benefit from a couple of glasses to have a drink of water.

The house is extremely noisy, it is all pine (floors, staircase, doors) which means there's no noise absorption. Each door has an automatic closer on it which means everyone just left them to close by themselves so they slam loudly which makes a big noise in a small house. The other guests/staff were making noise from 6.30am so no chance of a peaceful morning. Parking isn't brilliant but we managed. The bed was very hard and uncomfortable. I understand that the pandemic has taken away two years of trading but the room costs for such a small place was high. Would be nice to have a more tailor made booklet in the room to let people know local knowledge not just a generic visit Scotland brochure. Things like local places to eat (as the house doesn't do any food) , taxi numbers, maybe some take away options and the closest shop for any supplies etc. Not a bad little house just a few things needed to improved to allow people a peaceful relaxing stay.

This was a lovely little guest house, spotlessly clean, right on a bus route too. Land lady was very informative.

A very comfortable room in a quiet location with excellent access to city centre

Perfect for what we needed. Super easy to go straight into town from the bus. Very clean and very friendly staff.

Everything was fine except the heat wave caused it to be warm in the room. we had a small fan, but they could do with adding another just in case.

The owner of the property was very helpful and nothing was too much trouble. Very welcoming when we arrived.
