Very comfortable room, good air con, nice balcony view, great location, friendly helpful staff - good laundry service
The room with balcony isn’t a private balcony so is sometimes used by other guests - the cleaner sat on her phone in front of our room quite often so not so private!

This is a small, no frills guesthouse at a reasonable price. We went into it with little expectations. The location is great - close to the night market and restaurants. The room was on the ground floor and spacious providing easy access to the outside (some of the other rooms are up a steep set of stairs). The woman who managed the check-in was very nice. If you would like something bare bones for a good price in a good location, this will meet your expectations.
We stayed at Mekong Riverside twice - upon arriving in Laos and on our last night. The first night we had a very small room with wonderful beds. On our last night, the room was very spacious and convenient on the ground floor but the beds were older and softer and the room overall had seen more wear and tear.

Good location, quiet and easy to find, staff was very friendly and accommodating!
We didn’t have a window so the smell of the bathroom was a bit strong with no ventilation, but closing the door helped.

It was not clean

Cheap and good enough place to sleep.
Right across street from a temple, hear chant all night and morning. The balcony was a public one not a private one where u have to enter from your room.

This is the second time we stayed here. This time our room had a window and it was more airy and well lit. The position is great right near the river.
The owner was very nice to hold our deodorants and such when we had to travel by train or otherwise they would get confiscated.
Many, many narrow stairs to climb with our luggage. Those stairs need extra care even without any luggage. Other than that, it's a good place to crash after a touristy day.

It’s really dirty, the real room has nothing like the picture showed.

Very helpful staff and great location!
We were able to leave our bags with the staff for most of the day as our night bus arrived early.
Also, we left our power bank in the room and the staff have helped us by posting it to our next hotel in Luang Prabang!

Nothing but the young guests staying there that tried to keep our sprites high. I booked a room with city view and balcony for people watching as a couple of 50 year Olds 4 days in advance! I got a walk/in closet with No Windows !
Do not advertise what they sell. We are not picky, but don't stay in hostels at our age much.I was doing a visa run and felt like they said, " suck it up" they were full so we stayed the one night with suff on the walls ! Cuddling so tight the next day, my husband made me leave with him. " TGA" Thank God almighty! Paid price for 2 nights stayed one! For a city view with a balcony!

Although on a busy street with a few bars, and only yards from the Night Market, sound doesn't carry up to the rooms even at the front too badly. Everything quietens down after 10 or 11pm anyway; but even mid-evening it wasn't too noisy to sleep - which was a pleasant surprise.
The bed mattress was firm, which I like, so - comfortable for me.
Excellent location, right in the middle of town, next to Night Market.
Rooms are small and basic, but quite nicely equipped; they appear to have been renovated recently.
Internet worked fairly well. IThere was a long power outage one day, but that's not the hotel's fault.)
Things seem a bit chaotic with the staff: the young girl on reception is nice enough, but the cleaner is unreliable - the day I arrived, it seemed that nobody's room had been made up; and I was shown to a room with a dirty bed and bathroom! And bins were left unemptied on the balcony ALL DAY.
The TV wasn't working. The desk-chair was broken IN HALF (no-one had noticed or thought to replace it for how long??) - though they did find me a replacement quite quickly (after initially telling me that didn't have any other chairs).
A number of the power outlets don't seem to work - meaning that you have to use the kettle from the shaver-point in the bathroom. The TV didn't work (probably just dead batteries in the remote; but again, this seems to be the kind of thing they'll never notice at this place).
The bed is on a weird wooden platform the width of the (narrow) room - so you have to crawl on and off it from the end: bizarre.
Worst thing for me was that they leave the very bright lights on the front of the building switched on all night, and there's a large skylight above the door of the 'balcony' room (it's only a narrow, communal balcony); so, it's pretty much impossible to sleep in that room without a blindfold.
The location is hard to find: only an inconspicuous sign above a small door, hidden behind street stalls and motorbikes much of the time. The hotel is only on the upper floors of the building, so there's nothing to see at ground level.
There's never anyone on the front door or on reception (the female receptionist always has to be summoned with a bell on the counter), and I didn't see any CCTV cameras (maybe one in reception; not giving much coverage), so - security is basically ZERO.

Location is great, close to the Mekong river, close to the night markets and supermarkets. A little common balcony with street view.
They offer an airport taxi for a good price
Wifi is good
The pillows were hard
Not soundproof, you could hear everything around the room
Steep stairs, no elevator
Pretty dark room and only one window, in the bathroom.
Personally, I didn't like the atmosphere in the hotel.

Really nice front desk and reception staff. I honestly really enjoyed it because it was so well located near a night market, and other markets for food.
I mean it isn’t a 5 star hotel but that’s fine. Has more of a backpacker feel but great service and great host.

The accommodation is in a bit of a run-down building and wouldn't be the best furnished, however - the beds were very comfortable, the bathroom clean with everything working as were the aircon and WiFi. Location is excellent just beside the night market and the main tourist areas. We were downstairs on the ground floor and there was a bit of noise from the laundry facilities - but I couldn't complain as I had 5 days of laundry to be done (15000 kip/kg). If you're not looking for a luxury hotel and want a good value room in the middle of everything, this will do rightly.

Location truly amazing literally 50 mt from the night market and considering the price also very good value for money. Also the staff is very helpful.
The rooms are very basic, but as said given the price and the location it makes sense

The hotel is in a good location with a lot of restaurants within walking distance. The owner of the hotel has been very helpful providing answer to my questions and helping out with getting fairly prices taxi rides.

the bed was comfy, staff were helpful and the location was good
the room was a million degrees when we arrived almost like a sauna and the aircon barely blew out warm air let alone cold. the bathroom was too hot to be in for more than a few minutes.

Perfect location. Best owner and personnel, safety place. 100% recommend.

the room was a good size with bathroom, location close to restaurants and market. staff were nice and had the room ready for early check in.
could have been cleaner, little run down in areas - we kept finding small bugs in the bed think they were coming from the window as the wood around the window was crumbling.
