Great room, value, and location

the bed in the living room wasn’t very comfortable for longer stay

Location was wonderful. Very close to beach which made it quite simple to catch sunset or just enjoy a quick dip to cool off. Great restaurants a short walk away in either direction. Beautiful grassy parks with shade and facilities very close were great for picnic, people watching, wave watching and cooling down. Someone before us had left chairs and umbrella which was nice. Many shops.nearby for essentials or souvenirs. Apartment looked quite large with the entire mirrored wall. Kitchen had almost everything needed. It was nice to have a washer/dryer. TV options for front room and bedroom were nice, remotes needed new batteries.

Cockroaches literally ran across us during the night on 3 occasions, yes 3 different nights, across my husband's neck, up our arms (this kept me up with the heebie jeebies and my phone flashlight scanning the bed), as well as seeing them in the walls in the kitchen and floors throughout. UNACCEPTABLE!! Bed was too firm for us. The louver windows by head of bed, even when fully closed made it seem like people were literally in our room as they walked by talking, or rolling luggage. Made mid day napping impossible, but who goes to Hawaii to nap I guess. We arrived to no bathroom floor mat, and only 1 set of towels. We found a load of towels and bath mat in the dryer on day 4 of our stay. A cookie sheet would be a nice addition to kitchenware.

The location is incredible. Literally directly across the street from the beach, walking distance to restaurants and shops and an ABC store for basic groceries. Plenty of parking on the property. Kihei itself is a perfect central location to get around Maui. The owner communicated with us really well about some work that had to be done and it was not disruptive to us at all. Overall I would recommend this place, particularly in the winter.

No AC in the bedroom and the weird little window back there isn’t going to be catching a breeze. Whoever sleeps in the living room will be freezing while the person in the bedroom roasts. If you’re going during the winter it won’t be a problem, if you go in the summer prepare yourself. We made due by pointing the standing fan out of the bedroom into the hallway to create some circulation, but it was still significantly hotter in the bedroom and downright chilly in the living room. The pull out bed in the living room isn’t particularly comfortable, but it’s tolerable. My 75 year old mom slept out there and while she was able to sleep she was at her limit by the end of the week. If you were staying longer it would probably be worth it to buy a cheap mattress topper.

It exceeded our expectations!! Would definitely stay here again and recommend to family & friends! All you need, nothing you don’t.
