It is a fairly small, a bit old-fashioned hotel (with regular metal keys that hang on the board above the reception) very well located about 6 mins walk from St Roch station and 1 min away from a tram stop on the route to the beach (ca. 25-30 mins ride). There are a couple of small supermarkets nearby. The room was not too big, but spacious enough for all the needs. It had a very comfy bed, a fridge (quite small, but very useful in the hot climate), a TV set, a small balcony going onto the street; the bathroom was additionally equipped with a hair dryer and a cosmetic mirror. The bathroom had no door, just a curtain, which was no issue for me, but for two people sharing the room it might be. The hotel served breakfast in very decent hours (6.30-11.30 am), and the food, though pretty much the same every day was fresh and ample (baguettes, croissants, cakes, cheese, butter, meat, cornflakes, fruit, yogurt, milk, orange juice), and the coffee was served hot by a smiling receptionist (on my last day when leaving very early I was also given a sizable breakfast packet for my trip). I stayed there 6 nights and felt very comfortable there.
The fridge could be a bit bigger, because I had a problem putting in a big water bottle in there. Also, the lift was probably the tiniest lift I have ever used, it can take one person and one bag max, the staircase is also quite narrow. But these are not serious issues, otherwise all was just fine.

It gets the job done for the price
The bed was extremely uncomfortable. The fan in my room made so much noise I couldn’t sleep, but you need the van because of the heat another. What was the model I just felt kind of gross the bathroom is ridiculously small you couldn’t do anything at it and the noise in the hallway was super loud, so whenever someone left their room, you heard it and it woke you up.

Very friendly staff. Easy walk to old town. Good continental breakfast with plenty of food & choice. Boiled eggs & fresh fruit available. Good recommendations for restaurants in the room information.

Nice and clean bed. Good location near train and tram station.
Very small room.

Excellent location, good reception, clean, good bedding. Everything worked ok.
The room and the ensuite were tiny (room 31). Minuscule. Ensuite door wouldn't stay shut. Breakfast was adequate.

the room and the location are okay
The staff should be paying more attention on what’s happening in the building. The room nextdoor was having a party and they were smoking too so I couldn’t sleep because of the loud music and the smell. I went to the reception to report it to the staff but nobody did nothing. The next morning I asked politely for a refund, and the manager gave me the money back by throwing them at me and saying that they were from his pocket. He could have handle the situation in a whole different way, but he chose to be angry at me without a particular reason.

The room for family was wide and well equiped.

Everything i like
Food is little expensive

The bed was not bad. The localisation is the best in it. Man working in reception - nice, although it was difficult for him to communicate in English.
It was extremely hot in the room and it is controlled by the staff. Bathroom would require a bit of renovation. Not sure if pillow cases were clean?

Location was ok.
Arguments throughout the night outside our door & a man walked into our room in the middle of the night!!

It was reasonably near the train station and Place de la Comedie.
My husband and I stayed here during a rail trip through France and Spain. Thankfully we were only here for one night.
The room was described as a superior double but did not fit that description.
The room itself was quite cramped and the ensuite was unpleasant with broken, hazardous floor tiles and a stained curtain separating it from the entrance area.
The safe did not work and one of the bedside lamps was not working.
The air conditioning was not controllable by occupants of the room.
Various facilities listed in the room description were not provided, e.g. an iron, an adapter, toiletries.
A small fridge and a kettle were provided, but no milk for coffee/tea.
A sign outside stated that there were no vacancies so we were unable to request a different room. As we were only staying one night, we decided to just put up with all the issues.
We ate a takeaway pizza in the room and left the box on the floor by the bin. In the morning, the box had insects crawling in it. After that, we couldn't get out of there quickly enough!
After returning home, I raised the issues with the company I had booked with. They tried to reach some sort of resolution with the hotel (ideally a refund) but the hotel would not offer anything. Booking.com did provide a goodwill gesture travel credit, which was good of them.
We liked Montpellier and will visit again, but we will stay anywhere other than this hotel.

Great hotel, simple but clean with a great location next to the train station. The staff are nice and welcoming. They have the smallest elevator I've seen in my life, but it's funny though :)
3.5
Staff is very nice and helpful. Location is great, close to train station and right next to a tram line . Breakfast was OK. Was quite affordable to stay in. Overall good place.
The building shows it's age. Elevator only fits one person at a time. Room on top floor had very low ceiling in bath room. 175cm person cannot stand in the shower :D. Can survive with good humor, but taller people can be in trouble.

nothing
