It was a wonderful stay in your house, although the (summer) weather was not as good as expected... Everything was well organized, Pedro sent us perfect directions to the house and gave us useful recommendations. The house is well equipped, tastefully decorated, clean and spacious (we were 4 people) From the living room and the terraces you have breathtaking views on the sea, we definitely want to come back!!

We absolutely loved Casa Sul Mar. A real gem, full of character, stupendous location and views over the ocean. Within the wild and beautiful hills of Arrabida, an unspoilt paradise of natur. Great place for a 21st century detox (but excellent wifi!). The high green mountainside is topped by a world class wild drive of breathtaking beauty. Hills sweep down to a necklace of glorious beaches fiercely protected from the traffic in high summer. Eagles soar, dolphins can be seen in the bay and apparently it is even home to wildcat and lynx. Closest beach, Portinho, only 10 or 15 minutes walk away, with a few beachside eateries. We chose O Farol where food and friendly service highly recommended. Beach is lovely, safe and shallow with interesting walks along the shore. Good place to cycle on the low road which gets closed off in summer. The house was perfect for us. A large cosy living room and big dining table. Massive glass sliding doors onto a huge deck area overlooking the ever-changing sea ad skyscape. Mesmerising. We spent many happy hours here. When hot enough the plunge pool is fun - with awesome views. Bedrooms, simple but cosy, and a very well equipped kitchen. It’s a great family space. Everything super clean and tidy. Furnished with great character; very homely and welcoming. Spectacular beaches abound nearby and a bit further away the livelier Costa da Caparica with Atlantic rollers and lots of eateries. A little train goes up and down this 17km fabulous seashore. We enjoyed wandering around the old parts of Setubal, had the best grilled sardines in a tiny local square, everyone so friendly. Bought magnificent huge steaks at the indoor market. Delicious. Recommend a trip to the Setubal castle where there is a bar up on the battlements with long reaching views. A restaurant in the evening. So much to explore further afield - one week isn’t really enough - we hope to return. Our hosts Pedro and Raquel could not have been more helpful and kind. They responded swiftly to all our communications and were very attentive to everything. It was great to meet them and get some local tips (especially about food at the Setubal market!) Impossible to imagine anyone not having a superb vacation in this perfect escape-it-all location not visited by the big tour operators. We can’t wait to return. We were a party of 5 adults and we all adored the house and location. The house is stunning and really well equipped. We loved sitting on the terrace watching the dolphins and enjoying the boats passing by. The beach is 5 minutes walk away and was the perfect snorkling and swimming spot. Raquel was really welcoming. We will definetly be back!

Being so near to the beach gave us a luxurious-feeling. You can stare over the see, look at the waves and small boats. The house and the veranda were perfect. So was the small swimmingpool (Which is not in the garden of the house but in the garden of the owner, very closeby). The small bay is perfect, the kids used the snorkeling-gear and were happy. Actually we were looking forward to the bicycles and the kayak (as mentioned at the website), but they are not there. There was a SUP but you couldn’t use it, Maybe When you ask. A good, good house to recommend!

This is a truly amazing property. It is set in the Arrabida National Park which is beautiful, and the view from the property of Setubal Bay is breathtaking. The owner of the property couldn't have been more helpful, with really useful advice about how to make the most of our two days there (even lending us his umbrella!!!). It was such a pity we didn't have more time as there is so much to see and do - time on the lovely little private beach, a five minute walk from the house (I wish we had gone in the summer so we could go snorkelling), time in Portinho da Arrabida, a tiny group of houses and cafes and a beach fifteen minutes' walk in the other direction from the house. We also went out to Sesimbra and saw the fishing port and the castle, we took a boat trip to see the wonderful dolphins of the Sado Estuary and we rode horses on the beach at Comporta across the estuary past Troia as the sun was setting. It was then wonderful to come back to the house and sit by the fire and watch the ocean. I can't recommend this house or the area enough. AMAZING!

Very nice owner, excellent contact in advance. The house is locatet in a private way, the main road is a bit away. The house description was really accurate, it was clean an well-maintened. Wonderfull view (ships, dolphins, sunrise ...)nice garden, two terraces (sun from sunrise till afternoon) and pool (owner's garden), which was small but very practical (we loved it). About 100 m away, it descends a staircase to the small beach (to swim or to snorkel in the protected bay. The other (also very popular) beaches are not far away (20 minutes by foot, half an hour by car) in Serra Arrabida oder the "Open Ocean" by meca. It is a very good house in a popular region, sightseeing, swimming.. including. We highly recommand Casa sul Mar and we say OBRIGADO to Raquel and Pedro.

We very much enjoyed our stay at Casa Sul Mar. The Arrabida is a beautiful coast and the view from the terrace is absolutely stunning. We were with 4 adults (mother, daughter + partner and son) and the house was perfectly suitable for that. However, I can imagine that with more guests, it might get a little cramped. The bedrooms are fairly small and there is only one bathroom - which I believe would never be enough for 8 people (queuing for the shower on holiday). My advice to Pedro would be to add an extra (outdoor) shower. We had some small troubles in the two weeks that we were there (a slow wifi, no hot water) but Pedro was there to solve things right away. The kitchen is well-equipped and the spacious lay-out of the living room, opening up to the terrace, make it a very comfortable and nice place to stay. Furthermore the interior design and its details are very well chosen, making it a homely and warm. Overall a very nice place to spend some time on the Portugese coast and to make you instantly feel at home.

An amazing experience from the start! Pedro and his wife Raquel made us feel at home from the moment we got to Casa Sul Mar! They greeted us with a beautiful bottle of wine, and handmade local cheese. Provided us with information on the area, restaurants, beaches, local wineries, cheese shops ... the list goes on. We are truly grateful to them for allowing us to see this Little heaven of theirs:) The house is fabulous, much nicer in real life. Thank you so much for everything! May we meet again very soon!!!

Wonderful house in scenic surroundings with lovely hosts, the perfect vacation to relax and get to know Portugal

My wife, two children, and myself stayed at this location for a week. The house was very accommodating for a family. The location is nice with a great view out over the ocean. The owner was helpful and provided answers to any questions we had. The evenings were cool, but the fireplace in house provides adequate heat. Firewood was provided by the owner at no extra cost. Overall, we had a very nice stay.

House Very stylish. There is everything you need. I like to cook, and the kitchen is large and very well equipped. Terrace allows meals overlooking the ocean. The house is located in a place that guarantees peace and quiet privacy. Each evening spent on the terrace looking at the ocean and sipping delicious local wines. Environment There must be a car for the entire stay (eg to get to the store). On foot you can walk to the beach close to home. This is one of the most beautiful beaches I've ever seen. You can also go to large beaches with fine sand. There is a restaurant, shops with drinks and ice cream. It takes about 15 minutes and is not a problem even for a 5 year old. The proximity of Lisbon allows you to see all of its attractions. I would recommend trips to the great beaches of the open ocean. Beautiful, quiet, comfortable, well decorated holiday place with a fantastic view and a nearby access to a small beach. The hosts are very friendly and helpful. It was clean and had all we needed , inclusive washing machine, iron and Wi-Fi! The fact you can park the car inside the gates is an extra bonus. We (eight people) just had to organise ourselves with one shower. We will definitely return.

This is a very cosy house, situated right on the coastal cliffs. Stunning panoramic view from both the house and garden. Everything as announced; friendly, helpful and knowledgable owners (speaks fluent english). Small, unheated pool that requires warm weather before it heats up; several good (some fantastic) beaches in the vicinity though. The neighborhood and wider area offers a many things to do, see, eat, drink and experience, and the surrounding Arrábida National Park is a beautiful area. Highly recommended!

We had a lovely time at the Casa Sul Mar, even if the weather was not great for the whole stay. Despite the weather, we spent a fair amount of time exploring the surrounding beaches - from the lovely one right under the house, to the larger one at Portinho, which you can walk to, or drive to easily and park, and the vast stretch of sand at Meco. We also went to Cabo Espichel and visited the sanctuary church and saw the amazing views over the cliffs; went to the great market at Setubal and bought incredibly fresh fish; and had delicious cakes at the Caffe Negrito in Azeitao. The best thing about our trip was the house itself which is beautiful - and much more elegant and refined than it looks in the photos - and the terrace, where we sat whenever it was warm enough, and just looked at the sea. It is a lovely location and property and we will definitely be back. We were there in spring, and the beaches were very quiet - so I cannot comment on what the area is like in summer - but we would love to go back and find out. As for Pedro and Raquel, they were absolutely lovely and extremely communicative and helpful. All in all a fantastic experience.

In spite of quite bad weather we had a very good time in the house which is beautifully located with a marvellous view over the Setubal bay. We mixed restaurant visits with own cooking (kitchen well equipped) from ingredients shopped at the very nice market hall in Setubal. The owners are very nice and helpful.
