We had a fantastic time staying with Aracely, she was just fantastic. So welcoming, amd very helpful with tips. We booked the stay very last minute, and she was quick to ensure she could let us in and give us a tour of the facilities. Then when we wanted to book a riding tour of cotopaxi she helped recommend different options. We enjoyed breakfast with views of the volcanoes, this is a lovely family ran business and you are made to feel very at home. The bed was comfy and room suitably warm. She even provided me with washing equipment so we could scrub the hire car down, and that really was going above and beyond! Huge thank you again :)

Nous avons été très très bien accueillis ! Très serviable, répond au demande rapidement, les logements sont super bien aménagés. Et la propriétaire nous a donné de très bons conseils pour visiter les alentours.

I really enjoyed my short stay at Mateospaxi!! The day after climbing Cayambe I was in dire need of rest and this hotel was the perfect place.

Aracely was an amazing host. The kindest woman you will come across! She was so accommodating and made us feel like this place was our home. She also loves dogs and we loved her doggies!! Thanks Aracely!!

Beautiful hostel close to Cotopaxi. If you don't want to stay in the city of Latacunga and would rather visit Cotopaxi from a smaller pueblo along the road, this is a great option. The owner is super nice, and helped us book a guide to visit the volcano.

Really lovely place to stay! Felt like home :) the owners are lovely.

Aracely is an excellent host. She went above and beyond for our group of 18. She tried to place us together. She helped with our laundry even though this was not a service she offered. Most of our group could not consume meat in Ecuador as it was not halal, she even called around to get a live chicken for us! She had the most adorable dogs as well.

Not a dislike but a recommendation - perhaps staggering the electrical load with big groups to ensure hot water is available as it is a very cold area.

The host was brilliant. She really cared about making you feel welcome. It is just a short drive to the base of Cotapaxi so if you want to stay somewhere outside the national park it’s a great choice. Super value for money, excellent hot shower, nice rooms and a very pleasant feel about the place. If I was to attempt to get a clear day for Cotopaxi again, I would certainly stay there.

Nothing. But be warned, you will need a car to get to Cotopaxi entrance gate. It’s not walkable (but very few are) so you will need a taxi, or get a bus and that is a little walk away.

Aracely and her husband were such lovely and friendly people. They made us feel very welcome and at home. I would definitely recommend anyone to stay and experience a stay in this refuge. My children loved Aracely s pets too..

The most beautiful accomodation we had during our South America trip. Perfect newly built cottages makes you feel like at home. The owners are very nice, friendly, helpful and doing maximum for you to feel well. 3 friendly dogs in the garden you can play with!

This is one of those rare accommodations where staying one night feels like staying a whole week. The price/quality ratio is fabulous and the hostess and her three lovely dogs make you feel right at home. We received excellent information regarding our visit to Cotopaxi National Park and she helped organize our private tour. Would definitely stay again!

Super friendly and kind host. Always tried to help us, had helpful hints and advice and wanted us to have the best time. Good starting point for visiting cotopaxi. We had a great time at mateospaxi!

There is a small kitchen you can use. It's okay for cooking quick and easy dishes. A bit more space and better equipment would have been nice.

Lovely place in a quiet little village. Lady running the place is super friendly and helpful, she can arrange tours to any of the surrounding places you want to visit, stunning views from the rooftop, cute dogs.

The host was absolutely wonderful, so kind and welcoming. She helped us organize tours for Cotopaxi and Corazon, with both days being great. The location was perfect with beautiful mountain views and was easy to take the bus to and from. We would recommend staying here to anyone!

Amazingly friendly hostess who treats you like family. She can prepare breakfast and dinner for extra reasonable price and also arrange for tours to Cotopaxi and other places, or she can give you tips on how to take the bus and try to arrange trips on your own. The rooftop has nice views. It's very easy to get to the place from Quito via bus. It's only 10 minutes walk from the highway. Reliable hot shower and good WiFi. Rooms don't have heat but you have plenty of blankets to comfortably sleep. Lovely dogs on the property.

Aracely is the most caring host we have met in Ecuador! she helped us get a guide for Cotopaxi and a good deal. We liked the remote but easy access (stop on the panamerican at El chaupi and get a bus from there too) and the facilities were perfect to relax and rest. On a clear day views on Corazon and Illiniza are just wonderful. Kitchen a bit basic but sufficient. Aracelys breakfast was very generous and delicious!

The owner was super thoughtful and caring, kept making sure we have everything we needed. the bed is comfortable, everything is clean and new.

The place is located in a quite little town on the Panamerica and right at the foot of the incredible volcanos of iliniza and corazon! Making it the perfect place to rest and start adventures into the Nature like Cotopaxi national park. But the best thing is the little place itself and it's amazing owners that couldn't care more about your well-being and helping you with literally everything!! Enjoy this little oasis in the middle of nowhere and get close to Ecuadors amazing landscapes. Definitely a hidden 💎
