The property is lovely, with gardens to explore and a great pool. Unfortunately we were there during a few weeks of bad weather. I would have gone later in the year to get more sun and warmth. Great hiking trails nearby, but not much to do in the village — so go to relax.

A very beautiful villa in a green environment. We had a perfect stay.

Stunning views, beautiful pool (heated and open in February) and well-equipped villa. Relaxing, homey feel to the villa (rather than the showhome feel you often get) and cosy with the fireplace in the living room. The sauna was a nice extra. We did the walk down to and up from the village centre quite a lot and it was fine for us averagely fit adults (aged 23-61), took 15-20mins each way. Location is fantastic - distant view to the sea from the villa, even better views from the top of the mountains (Foia and Picota). We visited Sagres and Praia da Rocha on the coast, and managed a couple of dips in the sea (not cold compared to the UK sea). We loved getting all the fresh citrus fruit from the garden.

This home was all it was cracked up to be, and more. The home is very spacious with many areas to hang out. The pool was pristine. The kitchen was extremely well appointed. We loved the sunroom. Check in and check out were made easy. We absolutely loved this place.

My wife and I arranged to stay for two night but with a early check in on the first day. So we had 2.5 glorious days in the property. We spent most of that time in or by the pool and around the bbq but loved it!! Would go back with friends and there is plenty of room

A beautiful property, very well equipped and an absolute tranquil setting with everything you could need within a 5 minute drive. Very private and remote off the tourist track a slice of heaven. Local restaurants are excellent too.

Nice house and warm welcome.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The house was bigger than expected with several different spaces to enjoy, depending on the time of day, and all with great views. Both Eulalia and Pascal were very welcoming and helpful. We planned to do quite alot of walking during our stay and found plenty of great walks nearby. (For those interested we would recommend viaalgarviana.org). We also like to cook and found plenty of utensils to use in the kitchen. There are also some great restaurants in walking distance, we really enjoyed Luar da Foia (reservation needed).

Nice traditional place on a large estate. Room for 2 couples had we known how spacious it was. Owners are very nice and helpful people and they have engaged a fantastic local property manager in the event that they are out of the country during a rental.

Pascal and Marie are very attentive and lovely hosts. We were greeted and guided to the house by Eulalia (the sweet and informative house manager). The house is fantastic, the sauna and the pool got a lot of use. The kitchen is well equipped. The house is located in the scenic mountain region of Monchique, a 10 minute walk to town down the garden trail. The the gardens are lush and we had a fantastic time exploring the region. We would highly recommend this beautiful place.

Very nice and quiet. Great views, very clean, gardens and some areas of the property were a little over grown. Great proximity to town and restaurants with a great place to eat at the end of the drive. Host was very accommodating

We found the property exactly as advertised and perfect for our family of 7 (grandparents, daughter, her spouse and 3 children ages 3 to 8). The separate accommodations for Grandma and Grandpa worked out nicely allowing a space to occasionally "chill" and a break from the high activity of the young ones. Furnishings were comfortable, the kitchen well stocked, and the gardens with fresh fruit trees and all types of flora were a delight for all ages. It was especially convenient to have both a washer and dryer available with our children who go through clothes quickly. The option of using the beautifully enclosed sunroom or the open patio to take in the view on cool nights and warm mornings/afternoons was a big plus. The property is convenient by car to the town of Monchique for shopping and nice restaurants are just a short walk away through the gardens. Lastly, the grandkids welcomed the opportunity to play in the heated pool as a break from touring the Algarve sites. I would highly recommend this property to anyone who enjoys being away from the hub bub of tourism. The owner and property manager couldn't have been more pleasant to work with and so easy to communicate with.

Outstanding property, perfect for a restful 15 days which was exactly what we were seeking. The pool and sauna are very private and we enjoyed daily. It’s a week equipped Villa with the added bonus of being within walking distance of two excellent restaurants. The orange and grapefruit trees provided us with an excellent breakfast each morning. The view from the property is remarkable. We’re already planning our next visit. Thank you Pasquale and Eulalia.

The villa was all we had hoped for. A splendid location slightly away from it all but not too far from local amenities with a wonderful restaurant at the entrance to the villa. The villa it self had a rustic charm set in a huge plot with olive and fruit trees giving total privacy. We loved sitting in the veranda looking at the views across Monchique catching the early morning sun as it rose above the hills. With the large private swimming pool, sauna, jacuzzi tv, wifi, well kitted kitchen and games there was always plenty to do and plenty of places just to relax. The villa itself is a short drive or a 20 minute walk to the town of Monchique which has local shops, cafes and a supermarket. Further afield the West coast of the Algarve is within an hours drive which suited us better than the South coast as it was so much quieter with lovely surfing beaches. Pascal is the most friendly and helpful of hosts and he lives in a property just to the front of the villa. A big thanks to Pascal for letting us stay in this wonderful villa and to his house keeper Eulalia for her recommendation of a mechanic in Monchique to repair our car when it needed new wheel bearings.

We had a great stay in this lovely villa, despite some unusally poor weather during our week in Portugal. The host and his property manager Eulalia are very nice and easy to deal with, and the villa itself was perfect for our needs, being well located for exploring the west Algarve area. We especially enjoyed the sun room whatever the weather, and the heated pool and views across the valley when clear were fantastic. The lovely local town is a short drive away and there is a great restaurant walkable at the end of the drive with another one a short walk away too. It is another short drive to the top of Foia mountain, which has a nice walk through nature to the top, and it is about 30 mins drive in a southerly or westerly direction to the coast. We particularly recommend visiting Praia da Rocha, Lagos and Sagres. All in all, we can highly recommend this property.

We had a very enjoyable stay at the lovely villa. The pictures really don't do justice to the size or ambiance of the place. The welcome and villa tour was warm and helpful and Eulalia also gave us insights to the nearby town of Monchique. The villa has everything you will need including a fully functional kitchen, with lots of crockery, pans and utensils. There are plenty of different areas inside and outside to eat, enjoy a drink and chill out while taking in the great views of the surrounding area. The grounds are extensive and full of different flora and fauna including nice fruit trees and the property is adjoined by good local restaurants at the top of the drive and bottom of the garden path that leads directly to the road. We had a lovely time with our friends staying here and we hope to come back soon.

Loved the laidback position of the villa. Great views and relaxing. Outside steps need handrail and description should make it clear that one of the bedrooms has separate access and no internal link to rest of prooerty- maybe an issue for families with younger children.

We enjoyed a restful stay in this lovely villa which is positioned approximately 10 minutes drive from Monchique town. We enjoyed the sun room which was a boon on the cooler windy evenings when we could eat indoors but still enjoy the views. There are a considerable number of steps to negotiate leading down to the main entrance which may not be safe for anyone with mobility issues as there is no handrail for support and outside lighting is limited. The grounds are terraced and extensive and have clearly been much loved in the past. The pool was a delight as the temperature crept up…... we rigged together a 3rd umbrella to provide much needed shade. There are several restaurants a few minutes drive away and one walkable at the top of the drive, all of which provided good authentic food. It is worth checking which ones are open on a given night. The local supermarket has an excellent fish counter and we thoroughly enjoyed the efficient BBQ at the villa. Many thanks to Eulalia for organising our request for single beds.

Foram 4 dias fantásticos ! A propriedade é grande , com muita privacidade , a casa é fantástica e tem tudo o que é necessário para umas boas férias . A piscina é super instamagravél e supera as expectativas com uma vista deslumbrante . A Eulália é super simpática e atenciosa . Adorámos e esperamos voltar !

Amazing Spot

The house has everything, heated swimming pool, sauna, 3 bedrooms 3 bathrooms, living room, kitchen, winter garden room, garden etc. We think It is perfect for the guests who are families have pet(s). Because we are allergic to pet it was not a pleasant stay. We suffered allergic symptoms when indoor. The big bedroom has even cat pee smell. We had to clean the place again and washed the sheets and towels. For families with pets traveling together it would be good. The house needs updating. The appliances and furniture is old and tired. They are still functional but it makes the place less inviting. Overall our stay is ok. The location is what we expect. There are good restaurants around. It is about 45 minutes driving to nice beaches. Having a car is definitely necessary.

We loved staying at this beautiful place for our family get together. It was very relaxing, the house was very comfortable, the outdoor patios were beautiful, and we greatly enjoyed the pool and sauna. It's a special spot, with the lovely town of Monchique only a five minute car ride away. The owners were very friendly and the property manager was very responsive, friendly and helpful. Thank you!

Schitterend gelegen vakantiewoning met drie slaapkamers. Verwarmd zwembad en separate sauna buiten. Fijn contact met Eulalia de contactpersoon, gelegen midden in het Monchique gebergte halverwege de hoogste berg van de Algarve. Huis voorzien van alle gemak. Geen Nederlandse tv zenders maar dat stoort in het geheel niet. Bezienswaardigheden van de Algarve makkelijk bereikbaar, Auto is wel noodzakelijk

We were a party of five, ranging in age from six months to 69, and we couldn't have picked a nicer spot. Our host was warm, responsive and welcoming, the property and view were as lovely as depicted in the profile and we were so well located -- beautiful countryside within easy reach of the coast.

The house is incredible and has everything you could want for a getaway in nature: the location and the view are optimal for an isolated retreat, the facilities (kitchen, lounges, BBQ, pool) make it perfectly comfortable to have a communal vacation! we truly loved it and will be back!
