I give the two points for the following things: The view is a dream. And the host is very friendly.

The house is very outdated. It looked very run down. Already the ascent from the outside staircase suggested this fact. The rooms are all very old. Some of the rooms are mouldy. But our room was clean. It was very cold everywhere in the house (January 2023). There was no hot water coming out of our sink so we didn't want to take a shower. The breakfast was okay. It was a pity. The house used to be a very good address. The lavish lounges with the fireplaces (not in use) also testify to this.

The owner was very friendly, jovial and helpful. The room was much larger than I expected, with a separate lounge and good-sized bathroom. An extra radiator was provided along with spare blankets (it being December), although the room was of a decent temperature and the bed was warm and comfortable even without these extras. The selection of fresh food items at breakfast was impressive and the coffee was very tasty and just what I needed before setting off for a long day out.

Unfortunately, due to the season the pool was closed, but this is to be expected in December.

Peaceful place with plenty of space to relax and unwind. Friendly and helpful staff, lovely location. Spacious pool and room, balcony to enjoy the sunset and sunrise

It was all excellent.

First up, the view is incredible, the staff are incredible. Its peaceful, the rooms are big. It has a fridge, great WiFi, clean pool. For the price I paid, its a bargain. The good definitely overseas the bits that need improving. I recommend you stay here and take in the serenity.

There's no hiding the fact that the place needs a facelift. I could go into detail but the investor knows this.

despite the low amount paid i would definitely suggest massive upgrade to the place. everything is simply worn down. if you could find anyone willing to sponsor the renovation this would be a true jewel in Monchique

Good value for money, nice views

Very outdated facility, room was too hot, AC was out and the fan was not enough to cool off, bathroom was too small

Wasn’t the cleanest room, but the view and general good atmosphere made up for it.

The view is amazing. Super calm and quiet. The owner is an amazing and happy guy, super attentive to the clients needs. The staff is very pleasant. The breakfast is also very good.

The accommodation was spacious and provided a beautiful view. It was quiet and peaceful. The host was welcoming, happy and helpful. The breakfast offered included a variety of foods. Tea, coffee and biscuits were available at any time in the comfortable common room.

The hot water took a while to heat up in the evening.

Sadly seen better days. Very run down and neglected.

We book that hotel looking forward to swimming pool coz on the advert was written open all year ( now it's changed to seasonal ). Pictures are amazing but once we came we got shocked - closed and looked awful. We got breakfast complimentary instead.

Amazing views and rustic feel, I would explain the property as if your friends grandfather owned a hotel that his father built. the property shows it age and if your looking for new and modern this isn’t it. What it is, a property that has character and was likely made using some of the best materials of its construction time frame. the breakfast was simple but perfect start for my day out exploring. the orange (I’m guessing from the property) was one of the best oranges I have had in years. the friendliness of the host was wonderful and I even had a fire in the rooms fireplace as the weather was wet and rainy. would gladly stay here again. but I will call him directly to book. pretty sure he will match the prices online without an issue and more revenue to him would be my recommendation. would love to come back again.

I loved the property. however. If you are looking for new… you won’t find it here. it’s been well loved and shows it age, but I loved its character and rustic charm :)

View and decor

Couldn't sleep as the room was so cold. No heating at all or A/C. Very uncomfortable.
