this house is really fantastic. well maintained, quality house, well stocked with everything you could want. a clean hot tub, pretty much kid-proof (with toys and dollhouse!!), excellent communication, sledding hill out front, not drafty and super cozy layout. it was perfect for our annual friends get together with kids. absolutely loved it. hopefully we will be back.

Perfectly located cabin in Canaan Valley with easy access to many outdoor adventures. Space was more than enough for our 8 adults and 2 children. Well stocked kitchen, clean and comfortable living and bedroom space. Great communication with owners.

Rented for Christmas and home was everything we wanted, needed or imagined and it was perfect!! Owner very detailed and promptly answered questions or concerns. If you think you might rent then don’t hesitate! You won’t regret your decision!

Beautiful house with fire place we had a nice fire every evening there was plenty of wood on the porch and the porch went all the way around, the out tub was awesome, the location was great a cute little town just a few miles away and we hit colors perfect thanks cy ,paul

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the cabin. As its name says...it's authentic! Very cozy and comfortable. Handled our crew of 11 with ease. The location is great and the kids really enjoyed fishing in the lake and exploring the walking path. The trees were in full color and even though the weather wasn't the greatest it gave us enough opportunity to explore Blackwater Falls and Canaan Valley. Our host was very attentive and made sure we had everything we needed to make our weekend memorable.

We loved the property and really appreciated the starter toilet paper, paper towels, hand soap, and trash bags. Even basics like salt and pepper were provided. House fit everyone comfortably and it’s a lovely location.

Three generations, ages 1-61YO, had a very nice stay here. The cabin is well-stocked and comfortable across 3 floors. The gated, wraparound porch was great for hanging out, grilling, and checking out the hot tub. The little ones enjoyed playing in the lower level, and fishing from the dock with their parents. Cy was very responsive and a good communicator. Thank you!

Stayed at this home for a long holiday weekend with my large family (2 adults and 6 kids). Spacious for large groups yet very cozy. Close to everything. Very clean and well decorated. I highly recommend staying in this home, and I certainly will rent again for a future trip if available.

Our stay at the Cabin was fantastic- We had 3 generations enjoying skiing and hiking in the area. The hot tub was a plus:) The kitchen had everything we needed, and more. House was very clean and communication with the owners was quick and helpful.

Beautiful, clean, superb condition- the house worked so well. We enjoyed the hot tub after hiking, the grill, the fireplace. Hosts sent lots of great info and tips about the area, activities, and weather. A wonderful long weekend with our family.

We loved the log cabin. It was the perfect location for my family. So close to the lake. It accommodated our family of 8 perfectly. We will definitely be back next year at this house.

My family had a wonderful time. The home is beautiful and very homey. We loved the wrap around porch. Very short walk down to the lake where we did some kayaking. The small town is very cute, they had lovely shops and restaurants. They have a small ice cream shop, very delicious and unique flavors.

We had a great family getaway! The place was perfect for all of us to be together. The cabin had everything we needed and the hosts were wonderful to work with. We would highly recommend this cabin and hope we can go back again.

The place was comfortable, the beds were comfy, hot tub was great and the entire place was well-equipped with games and seasoned firewood, too. We were there during a snow blizzard with 18 inches coming down and felt safe as we sat by the fireplace and enjoyed cooking in the well-stocked kitchen. Snow removal was quick and Cy was incredibly helpful, responded to all our inquiries right away, allowed us to depart late and even offered to host us an extra night to ensure we did not get stranded on our way out of town due to unsafe, snowy conditions. He kindly shipped a few forgotten items back to us. I would recommend this cabin to anyone who wants to enjoy time in the mountains and enjoy a high quality experience in a beautiful setting.

The house was fantastic! Scenery was beautiful. Hot tub was nice and relaxing. And fireplace kept us warm! My family and in-laws (9 of us total) rented the place out for Thanksgiving week and it was perfect. Plenty of space for everyone without feeling like we were all on top of each other. It snowed while we were there which was beautiful. Only thing to note is that if it snows, property is at top of hill that can get slick with little traction. We were able to figure a way around it but just to note in case you don't have all wheel or 4 wheel drive. Would highly recommend this place if you're looking for a beautiful mountain property near skiing and some cute small towns.

We had a beautiful stay with friends! I would highly recommend this rental. We stay in Canaan Valley often, and this was one of the best rentals yet. The property is well kept, with newer bed coverings and towels, appliances and furnishings. Very clean when we arrived, with more than enough dishes, pots, pans for our stay. The wrap around porch was great and the kids loved the short walk to the pond and play ground. The toys were an added touch! The hot tub worked well and was clean. Plenty of space for our group of 4 adults and 6 kids. The owner was very helpful and responded quickly to all correspondence. I would love to stay again!

Cy and his family have a beautiful place. For those who are interested in getting out in the big outdoors for hiking, biking, kayaking and other exploits, it is a perfect placed to serve as your headquarters. Close to town, close to trails, and close to the slopes, the cabin has plenty of room for family. The cabin has all the comforts of home after long days of outdoor activity.

Absolutely a must stay when in the area. Peaceful, warm and clean! The area has a ton of things to do and see, throughout all four seasons, and Timberline is centralized to it all. You will not be disappointed.

The house and location were great.The house was well kept. The kitchen Quiet, beautiful and friendly location. Fishing was great :-) and the host was very helpful and responsive to any questions we had about the house and the area. I would stay here again.

The house is extremely well appointed, to include a stocked kitchen (ample wine glasses, baking dishes, plates, etc.) and space in the kitchen for renter's items! Newer furniture and comfy beds. For those looking to use the bunk room in the basement for kids--it worked well. However, know that the beds are in the same room as the big TV and air hockey table. If you plan to put the kids to bed and watch grown-up TV/play air hockey, that could be a problem. We made it work for us, just a note for others. Overall, GREAT stay. Very clean place and fun things for everyone to do--doll house in loft, comfy reading chairs on main level, badminton setup in yard. This place had it all.

We had a great time. The property was well kept. Owners were helpful and easily accessible. We highly recommend. Fishing in the lake was great! We had exceptional weather for August!! Thank you Cyrus and family for a great trip.

Cy was in contact with information prior to our trip. We knew the area but Cy let us know about a few things. He gave us tips on activities, places to eat, etc. While we were staying, Cy even sent emails with current events! Communication was great to say the least! The House was fantastic! Very clean!!! The kitchen was well appointed and we moved right in! We enjoyed big meals around the large table inside and the large table outside. We played games in the yard and had air hockey tournaments while watching the Olympics on the big screen in the basement rec room which the kids happily took over as their place! Works for me!!! The porch! Love the rocking chairs....they kind of suck you in and you can easily spend the morning rocking : ) The beds! So comfortable! We didn't mind bringing our own linens as it made us feel even more at home but the beds were very comfortable! The ceiling fans kept the air moving and it was nice to have the windows open as it was very cool in the evenings! We loved our stay at North Lake and even dreamed about purchasing one of the lots! Thank you Cy and Tom - We hope to return to your wonderful home soon!

My friends and I loved staying at this beautiful cabin. We spent most of the day on the golf course and it was nice to come back to a spacious well maintained cabin to relax. Hope to be back again!

The cabin was very clean and well stocked. Communication from the owners was magnificent and everything was great. The neighborhood was nice and the house was very quiet for being near a main road. Grocery store and town just a quick 5 minute drive and is very cute! Would definitely recommend this cabin!
