Great property to enjoy the water, the kids loved being able to play in the clear water right off the backyard. Hal was available to us for questions throughout our stay. Would stay again.

This place was amazing. Dream house on the river. Free tubing and kayaking. Great views. Lots to do - outside and inside; they had corn hole and horseshoes for outside along with tons of deck space. Inside was a cute game room complete with jute box. Four good size bedrooms. When it states sleeps 11, they mean 11 real beds (no pull out couches here). Plenty of cups, plates and silverware which I appreciate. Bar area to hang out in. Really can't say enough good things. I have stayed at many vacation rental properties but this in one I will definitely go back to. The river was beautiful. Hal was super great - very friendly, responsive and just over all great guy. Little touches to make the trip special. Definitely recommend to everyone.

We had a group of 10 and the house easily accommodated us. The house was fantastic. The host was outstanding. The location is perfect about 2 mikes from winn Dixie. The location on the river is great as well. About a 2 hour float to swampy’s restaurant. We loved everything about the house, the deck. We have stayed in crystal river snd rainbow river s lot of times and this place is our favorite.

We travel a lot and stay in VRBOs quite a bit. This is by far the most amazing host ever. He was so generous. We absolutely loved the place. One of the best stocked homes we stayed in. It had everything. We, our grandchildren, and their parents, all enjoyed the game room, but we are outdoors people and had the best time on the dock. We saw deer, hawks, ducks, and best of all, a family of 5 otters from the dock. Our grandchildren loved fishing from the dock where they caught and released bream. We took the kayaks out and paddled up stream. It is truly an amazingly beautiful peaceful river. Winn-Dixie and other stores are less than a 5 minute drive away. There is nothing left undone here! The House, the river, the wildlife, but mostly the host made this a great time for us and our family.

Everyone thought this property was special with the location, game room, bar, deck, shed of supplies, boats and more. Not to mention the crystal clear cool water and seeing the otters everyday! Great time.

Love this location ! Really couldn’t get much better. Had something for everyone . And so nice to have kayaks and canoes right in the back yard. There was enough space for our group of 8. Great neighborhood to start your day with a run. grocery and restaurants are all super close . Would recommend anyone to stay , and we definitely would love to come back! Thanks Hal for all the extras it was so nice of you ! And thanks to Ellen as well for even contacting me that we left something that she would return back.

A great float and relaxing getaway!
This vacation spot has everything that you ever wanted and then some! Beautiful riverfront with an incredible deck and backyard. You would never know that you are really still close to shops and restaurants. The house is stocked with all of the items that you need for a great stay! Certainly the getaway that you need!

Hal, the owner of the property and Ellen, the property manager were wonderful to deal with. This house exceed our expectations, and we will certainly consider returning in the future. The house and property had everything we needed plus much more. Communication with Hal and Ellen was prompt and professional, the house was spotlessly clean upon our arrival, and our entire time here was relaxing.

The house has everything you need and more and it is all in good condition and ready to go. The house is right on the river just about in between KP Hole and Swampys, which is perfect. We dropped in once at their other property ( Meriki) and floated to our dock and got out. We also dropped in from our dock three times and floated down to Swampys where you exit the river. We also used the kayaks and the canoe numerous times. Plenty of deck space and enough room for everyone inside too. I definitely recommend this place and I am looking forward to booking it again. Dont wait too long, reserve your dates if you see them. You wont be disappointed!!!

Rainbow River Rendezvous
We are a group of outdoorsy women in our 60's and 70's who take an annual trip together. We enjoyed being on the river and also spent 2 days biking the nearby Withlacoochee State Trail. The house was perfect for us and we especially enjoyed the bar with it lovely view of the river. The dock was great to enjoy morning coffee and evening Happy Hours. We would definitely return to this house.

Hal is the ultimate host and Ellen is amazing! We stayed at Chimera for the weekend with our college children and their friends and had a great time. Every comfort was thought of from the fun kayaks to the chilled wine at check in. We will definitely be back!

Great long or short getaway
We loved everything about our stay! We tubed 1.5 hours down from the other property and also 2 hours down to Swampys to eat from our property! We loved the game room and all the added actives such as kayaks, snorkels, you name it! Thanks Hal!

This is our 3rd house we have rented right in the Rainbow River. (Same group of us have traveled the last 3 years for long weekends) and we all agree Chimera is our favorite by far!
Located right on the river, easy access into the river (each river house has different ways to get in the River) and ample room for adults to move around the house. Oh, the bonus, not a single one of our guests could hear things going on in the house when they tried to sleep.
The house is stocked really well, the whole leave what you don’t use (if you’d like) comes in handy with condiments, cereal, coffee, tea, etc.
The house is clean, the jukebox was super cool, but there was also a radio for us to have “background” noise.
We are already talking about our 2022 trip and hope Hal will approve our stay once we pick our dates. Being able to launch into the river from Hal’s other property further up river is priceless. Priceless because you don’t have to pay $ at the state/county park, but also because we made friends with the other guests and have a feeling we will be doing more with them in the future.

Our family had such a wonderful stay at Chimera. The view of the River is gorgeous!
