C'è un motivo per cui tutti i locali dicono a tutti di soggiornare all'esclusivo Hamilton Cove. A 1.000 piedi quadrati (rispetto a 400 in hotel) e molto più filmati di tutte le altre unità HamCove da 1bdrm, questa villa è particolarmente spaziosa e può ospitare facilmente 4 persone (2 dormono in camera doppia, 2 sul divano letto matrimoniale nel soggiorno! Questo condominio non ha ostacoli e ti sentirai in cima alla spiaggia attuale che sei così vicino (vedi foto). Solo 2 rampe di scale ti portano sull'oceano! Ricorda, i condomini senza passaggi non hanno vista. C'è una vasca da bagno separata (per i bambini o se è la tua cosa) e una doccia separata, qualunque siano le tue esigenze. Con TUTTI i servizi e la sicurezza più l'uso privato di un carrello da golf, una spiaggia privata e una cucina, non solo per salvare dall'uscita, ma per rilassarti e rimanere dentro! Svegliati con la serenità, prepara il caffè (o qualsiasi altra cosa), mangia un po 'di qualcosa sdraiandoti sul balcone senza dover uscire (come un hotel). Guidare 10 minuti in Avalon, o rimanere qui sulla spiaggia privata, piscina, vasca idromassaggio che rendono Ham Cove. Gioca a tennis, mini golf, croquet, allenamento, snorkeling o in auto a 5 minuti dalla spiaggia di classe superiore di Descanso per kayak, stand-up paddleboard, un massaggio ... o ... vai al ristorante / bar per musica dal vivo all'aperto e bevande sul spiaggia!!!

We had a great time staying at Hamilton Cove. It is a very nice and secure complex with great amenities. Be aware that the condo is accessed by about two flights of stairs from the road above and three flights from below. There is a million dollar view from the balcony that we never got tired of. Watching the sunrise rise each morning was a treat. Rich, the property host, was friendly, attentive and accommodating. Communication was quick and clear. Generally the condo was comfortable, clean and well stocked. We were surprised that there was no bar soap provided. We planned to shop for some groceries so that was easy for us to rectify. There were some ants primarily in the kitchen and bathroom. We were cautious with our food and toiletries so they never caused a serious issue. We found the tile shower to be quite slippery but we countered that by putting a bath towel down to stand on. A rubber mat would be a nice addition. The dishwasher didn’t appear to have been working properly. I could see a lot of detergent residue inside and it had a funky smell when it was opened. There wasn’t any dishwasher detergent anyway so we just left it closed and hand washed the dishes we used. It wasn’t a big deal for us but could be for folks that plan to cook a lot. Bottom line, we would happily return to Hamilton Cove and Rich’s condo.

I have rented some lovely VRBO homes. I do expect a certain standard, when I pay a lot of money and the stay in this apartment failed to live up to normal expectations.
Oh boy, does this owner know how to charge! $100 Extra to check in a few hours early. Extra to hire a crib for a baby, an extra $100 if you fail to fill up the golf cart tank. It took $6 in fuel, when we filled it up. Very abrupt text messages from owner when we asked a question.
I expect a certain standard and do not expect ants to be all over the kitchen. Owner clearly knew about them as ant bait is in the laundry room. Cleaners were waiting outside the apartment 15 mins before check out time, clearly rushing us out.
Catalina is lovely, but I would not stay in this apartment again.

Our 6th anniversary. Spent a week and could have used a few more days. Last time at Hamilton Cove/Catalina was about 9 yrs ago in an upper unit. Being in a lower unit was great as we always could here the ocean!

Booked this place for the 2nd time for a 4 day stay with grandsons. Perfect location to be away from town when cruise ships arrive. Golf cart is a lot of fun and makes it easy to see more of the island. Richard is a great host. Will definitely book again!

A view from the balcony to die for. Golf cart is an absolute necessity. Especially since the golf cart rental in Avalon would cost $60 per hour.
The Vons grocery store is very nice and has everything you could possibly need. I would rent this villa again in the future.

This condo was very cute and had all you would need in a full kitchen, king-size bed, and family room. You need to be comfortable driving a golf cart everywhere, since this location is not close enough or safe to walk to town. The golf cart was older and emitted quite a few fumes...maybe time to upgrade it?

We enjoyed our stay immensely! The peaceful setting and gorgeous views were so relaxing! There was always something to see out beyond the railing of the balcony; a variety of boats, kayaks, swimmers, birds and people watching.
We enjoyed the private cove for great snorkeling and even though the beach is rocky, wearing water shoes or sandals made it navigable. There are shaded tables and bbq’s in the common area at the beach level.
The condo was well equiped for home cooking including a nice bbq. The washer/dryer was appreciated.
The bedroom can be closed off for late sleepers and the bed was very comfortable.
Of course the ‘free’ golf cart was the deal closer! It was dependable and we took many long rides on the scenic routes. It was so convenient to get to the market and restaurants. ( carts in town rent for $65 an hour!) We fueled the day we left, we used less than a gallon!
We would definitely stay in this property again.

The place is fantastic amazing ocean view lots of space nicely stocked very clean! After the day’s celebrating at the wine mixer it was such a nice place to come home to and relax.

Last minute trip with my hubby and first time stay in Catalina. Check in process was great and Owner was very responsive and accomdating. Clean property, comfy bed (not hard) with extra pillows, beautiful view from living and bedroom, and loved having the golf cart to explore Avalon (its also within walking distance). Enjoyed every moment and will definitely return!

I took my little family on vacation and we recently stayed at the HAMCOVE villa on Catalina Island and had an exceptional experience. Richard, the host, was amazing, accommodating us with an early check-in and providing detailed instructions and helpful tips to enhance our stay.
The villa, located in Hamilton Cove, was beautiful with stunning views. The convenience of having a golf cart made exploring the island easy and fun. Richard’s suggestions for getting around and using the local grocery store were very helpful.
Our stay was magnificent, and our son loved everything—especially the villa, the view, and riding in the golf cart. Communication was excellent throughout our stay, ensuring any questions were promptly addressed. The villa was well-equipped and comfortable, making for a perfect vacation.
Overall, our stay at HAMCOVE was fantastic. We will definitely stay there again in the future. I highly recommend this rental for a memorable and enjoyable stay on Catalina Island. Thank you, Richard!

We stayed at HamCove on our recent trip to Avalon and had a great experience within Hamilton cove and exploring the island, It is conveniently located in a gated community with private access to the beach and various activities. We were not able to maximize our stay due to the rain, but got most of it on the days it was clear. Overall a great experience

Beautiful property with amazing views of the ocean. The property was very safe and super quiet for us. The unit had everything we needed. The golf cart was a big plus so that we easily had transportation to get around the island. It was fun putting around with it. Great comminication from our host and a lovely trip!

We had the BEST time. Perfect weather, while coming from different ports all arrived within a half hour of each other and the villa was ready. All directions/suggestion were spot on. We loved waking and sleeping to the sounds of the ocean, getting up to the most beautiful view each day and night. Perfect distance with being able to see deer and the beautiful route to town. Great distance to do things and see things. The host was outstanding and the website was right on. We loved it!!

We had a wonderful stay at Richard's property. Everything was ready when we got there and it looked clean and presentable. The location of the unit was perfect. For those that have trouble going up or down stairs, it may be a little difficult for you but it was great for us! Can't wait to go back and stay longer 💜

Great view but hard on the legs due to all the stairs. Unit was in the middle so parking at the bottom wasn't any better than the top area. I did mention to the owner that the bedroom linens were smelly from being left in the washer/dryer while still wet. This speaks to me about the cleaning service. We washed everything in the kitchen before using. A recent rain made patio furniture almost unusable due to soaked cushions. I probably would stay in town next time, same price, more convenient.

I’ve never given a negative review but unfortunately I have to for this experience. We went to the island with two other families who also had rentals at Hamilton Cove. Hamilton Cove is amazing and we’ll be back, but our experience with this rental was very negative. First, the property was not very clean. There was sticky stuff all over the outside deck and the house and furnishings are very dated and didn’t feel cleaned up. There are wires everywhere for old school tv and sound systems. We paid significantly more than our other two friends and their rentals were so much nicer. On top of that, the weekend we booked to stay was when Hurricane Hilary hit Catalina and we were told by officials/the government through iPhone notifications and by the Catalina Express to leave early and ASAP. We had to cut our trip a day short and the owner would not provide any refund for this. We did not buy travel insurance (and the other two friends we went with did not buy travel insurance) but their rental owners provided the refund. This owner did not budge and penalized us for leaving when all news/government outlets told us it was unsafe to stay. We even called VRBO customer service to try and get the refund and they agreed it should be provided and have been reaching out to the owner on our behalf but the owner won’t call or discuss. Definitely would recommend looking for another property at Hamilton Cove and not staying here.

The island is a special place. Coming from the East coast we really didn’t know what to expect. Scenic views everywhere. The golf cart is an absolute plus, it greatly enhanced our trip . The vibe is very laid back . The island grocery store has all your needs . Our ONLY problem was there are no AC units on the property. Most nights a fan and leaving the window open would work. We just happened to go when it was warmer than normal. The eco tour on the back part of the island is recommended . Would go back .

We have stayed at approx 10 different condos in Hamilton Cove over the years. This is the best value with an excellent location. You can hear the ocean at night. Close to the private beach. Far enough from the road to where you are not hearing golf carts all night. We will definitely be back. Host is very accommodating. Unit was very clean and nicely decorated.

Richard’s Villa couldn’t have been more perfect for an amazing stay on Catalina Island. I was very pleased with Richard’s prompt & in-depth communication at all times which made our stay worry-free and very enjoyable! The location is excellent, offering spectacular views! Having the use of the golf cart was definitely a plus and added to the overall experience. And the private cove below the villas was the perfect spot for my granddaughter to try out her snorkeling skills….(This was a Spring Break trip so we wore wet suits & stayed plenty warm). We also enjoyed lounging at the pool. We left with wonderful memories and a happy granddaughter who can’t wait to return.

Keeping in perspective that the unit is on an island so I assume upkeep & updates might be more difficult. It's an older unit that needs a lot of TLC & a possible overhaul from a different touch.
The host, Richard, was very kind, helpful, & communicative. He gave us the privacy I expect when renting, & I appreciate that.
The view is everything, & that is why I booked this particular unit. It's absolutely priceless! Just to note, the balconies are adjoining, so don't expect much privacy. The bed was extremely comfortable, another key aspect I keep at the top of my opinion.
We couldn't get the living room patio & bedroom french doors to lock securely, which made me very uncomfortable. They can easily be pushed open when locked. We had trouble working the TV in the bedroom, but that could have just been user error, & I didn't want to bother the host with TV questions. The bigger living room sofa was extremely uncomfortable to sit on, again, we are on an island, so I don't expect getting furniture there is easy, & especially with all the stairs. But, the electric stove definitely needs to be replaced! The dials just spin, so you have no idea what temperature you are trying to cook at.
I do have expectations when paying $500 a night. Overall, our stay was wonderful. I don't like leaving negative reviews, & I'm very conflicted doing so. I just wanted to be informative & honest. I would stay there again, without a doubt.
