Great house to stay at while visiting Prescott. Close to town and had everything we needed. Great communication with the owner. Can’t wait to stay again.

The cottage was super clean, cozy, and well decorated. Stocked with basic necessities, and is in a beautiful location! Hosts are really friendly and helpful too. We loved our stay here!

We really enjoyed our stay at the Sam Hill Cottage. It was a perfect location in a very quiet neighborhood just outside of downtown but close enough that we could get around very easily. The place was spotless when we arrived, the beds were very comfortable and the small living room was nicely appointed. The kitchen is well stocked with coffee and tea and has a nice gas stove and a table that seated all 4 of us comfortably. The outside deck was shaded and lovely. Lisa was very responsive when I called to tell her we would be arriving late, possibly after dark, she went over to turn on the outside lights for us. We will definitely stay here again if it’s available the next time we’re up in Prescott.

Nice cottage in a nice neighborhood

We had such high hopes after reading the reviews for this place but unfortunately they fell flat. Communication with Lisa went well prior to arrival. We got there later than expected due to an accident on aI17, the house was completely dark and it was difficult to find our way to the lock box which was hidden behind a full grown ivy vine. There’s no ivy in the photos, so the photos have to be several years When we opened up the door, there was a very strong and distinct animal smell. We opened up the couch bed for my daughter to sleep on, there was a dog toy and animal fur under the couch that had not been swept up. Lots of cobwebs and spiders throughout the house and outside. Definitely not what we were expecting. We stayed the night and woke up in the morning to make breakfast, the pots and pans that were available were beaten up and appeared unsanitary with all the scratches. We ended up leaving a day early and only spending one night. Lisa’s sister-in-law reached out to find out what time we would be checking out because she was checking in the next day, she was very open to feedback on how they could improve our visit. I just don’t think this provided the space, cleanliness or met our expectations. This might be a good place to stay if they did some sprucing up and deep cleaning.

Cozy cottage close to town, many restaurants and hiking.

The cottage was perfect for our visit to AZ. It was clean, well stocked and centrally located. It was in a very quiet neighborhood. We’ll be back!

My only complaint was the bed, it wasn't terrible but wasn't the best either. Still a great place to stay.

Perfect size for my family and great location for being near Prescott College and Thumb Butte. Loved the porch!

Sam Hill's Cottage was an amazing place to stay. Tucked way back on a dead end street, it was quiet and peaceful, nestled in between lots of big boulders. We had 5-6 deer come prancing up the road it was so quiet! The cottage was very well-appointed - as well or better than described - and we had all the necessities we could have asked for. Property owners were responsive and very communicative. We absolutely loved it here and would for sure book again for our next trip to Prescott!

We enjoyed this cottage and found everything we needed to enjoy our stay. The hike around Watson Lake was a very enjoyable as it was not crazy busy.

Awesome weekend. Nice layout, lots of room for 830 sq. ft. The kids loved the history of the house. They also liked the rocks to climb across the street! Everything you need, coffee maker, oven, dishwasher. It was a lot of fun!

We enjoyed this charming cottage completely. The laundry room is super! Everything else was just what we hoped. We had no complaints.

This is a very nice property. We have modest needs, however, this property certainly met our minimum: very clean, the water was hot enough and it was very comfortable. In addition to that, I'll mention a few other things because it's not always present in other properties:- the mattress was very comfortable. No problem sleeping at night. There was ample amounts of blankets & comforters on the bed already. It does get cold in Prescott at time and it was nice not having to search for extra blankets and such. There were extra blankets in the closets but we were all set. - The kitchen was well stocked with appliances. Toaster, coffee brewer, hot water boiler, gas stove (nice to have), clean refridge & pots & pans. We did a fair amount of cooking and it was nice to have everything we needed. Everything was clean....No worries about whether it was OK to use.The location is great in Prescott. Right on the edge of the Prescott National Forest. 2.1 miles from Thumb Butte hiking trails. Most trails are easy to navigate. A trail map is helpful. 2.0 miles from downtown Prescott where's there's tons of restaurants and shopping. The neighborhood for the property is very quiet. The folks we met living there are friendly and sociable. We met several who were walking their dogs. We just loved that area. An easy getaway north of Phoenix just a 2-hour drive.

I could not have chosen a better place for my stay in Prescott. The cottage was welcoming and adorable. Despite the heat, it was comfortable inside thanks to several fans. I worked several night shifts while there, requiring me to sleep during the day, and the neighborhood was very quiet. I enjoyed sitting on the porch in the evening and watching the birds at the feeder. The kitchen had everthing I needed. The bed I used was very comfortable. Overall a perfect place, and I will book it again should I come back to Prescott!

A charming cottage with all the history of Prescott at your fingertips. Loved sitting on the porch sipping a glass of wine in the evening and waiting for the glorious thunderstorms to entertain us.

Comfortable cottage, a little remote for my liking, Weather too hot

I grew up in this area and now raise my own family here. With Prescott being freer during COVID restrictions than other places we could go, my wife and I decided to stay put but rent a place to ourselves. This cottage fit the bill of what I like best about my hometown- and what I miss most as we change. At least for the weekend we were able to not have the traffic, tract homes, McMansions, and general sprawl that the area suffers. It was nice to sit on the front porch of this 1950s-era home, relatively isolated by the surrounding boulders, and reminisce about what once was while still being in biking distance to restaurants and such. This cottage is simple, clean, and the owners were quite easy to work with from reservation through checkout. We had a great anniversary weekend here.

We enjoyed our stay at this cottage. It was very quiet during the day and during the evening and tucked back out of any type of noise disturbance. Super close to hiking, or enjoying downtown Prescott. A couple suggestions include: making sure the interior of the cottage is dusted well, and smells more welcoming. I thought it smelled a bit odd.. I also would say that the sofa couch/bed needs upgraded ASAP. Our girls liked the idea of sleeping on a sofa bed but it is very, very old and not comfortable at all. On another note, the basic amenities were there that we needed. Host was easy to contact! I think we’ll look for something more updated on our next trip to Prescott. -BP
