Our three-related families of 9 just returned from a fantastic time at the Sleepy Shallows villa. The grounds are filled with tropical plants and flowers overlooking a quiet, shallow bay perfect for kids and adults. Young kids will like the sandy beach and gentle slope and smooth waters, while older ones will enjoy the views, kayaks and paddleboards. The grass lawn, wide enough to throw a football, and hammocks provide an outdoor break from the beach. The house is good sized with nice views and with master bedrooms well separated. The pool and adjacent eating deck warrant multiple hangouts throughout the day. The furnishings are very nice and clean with a stylish and interesting decor. Our group required two high chairs and pack-n-plays; good ones were available. The four full-time staff were superb, with Keno (gardener and water guy), Kadine (housekeeper), Anthony (chef), and Andrew (butler) becoming part of the family; all were great with the kids and us. Andrew will take care of all requests and island visits and arrange shopping, and Anthony outdid himself with 3 delicious meals daily that kept getting better through the week. Oxtail stew, jerk chicken and snapper, fried chicken, curry goat, and lobster and ceviche were favorites, always with fresh fruits and vegetables and great sides, but seemingly any request was welcomed and proved tasty. Andrew's deserts were special toppers, with cocoanut and key lime pies flying high. Afternoon cocktails of multiple sorts were pleasant options daily. We loved the last night tradition of a dinner on the beach with bonfire. Travel is a challenge. We opted for transportation arranged through the villa, and were glad we did not rent cars. Still, it was not a good fit for the size and ages of our group to take day trips, was expensive, and casual errands were a last consideration. Fortunately, there is a great tubing and float trip on the tropical river with one terminus next door, and the activies at the villa and water and other sports at hand kept our group happily entertained without the need to travel distances. Ask Jacquie about tipping policies in advance, and take plenty of cash, US dollars welcomed. Of course all food and drink expenses are by the guests; budget accordingly. A helpful service would be for the host to set up some sort of electronic transfer account, such as Zelle or CashApp, to facilitate payments or tips, given the difficulty in obtaining cash locally.

Our families had the best vacation ever at Sleepy Shallows! We had 4 adults and 5 kids, ranging from 11-16 y.o. The memories we made here will last a lifetime! Andrew, Anthony, Kadine and Keno were absolutely amazing and made our stay so comfortable and easy. They thought of every detail- the meals, drinks, turndown service, sparkling clean house, beautifully manicured property and help with planning excursions and drivers all made for the most relaxing vacation. We learned so much about Jamaican culture, food and vegetation while we were there from the four of them. They truly treated us like family and made our stay so wonderful. The house itself is beautiful, spacious and very clean. The outdoor living spaces are so comfortable and large enough to fit our group of 9 comfortably. The yard is filled with beautiful flowers and bushes and tons of fruit trees. The beach had soft white sand and the clearest water. Set in Bengal Bay, you are perfectly protected from the big waves of the ocean which makes for great kayaking, swimming and even some snorkeling not far from shore. We played beach volleyball a ton and there is plenty of yard space for games and running around. We we went on several excursions nearby (Blue Hole, tubing on the Rio Bueno, Luminous Lagoon). Andrew was super helpful in planning these trips and arranging for transportation. This took all of the guess work out of it for us which was great. We highly recommend this villa for your stay! We will be back!

We rented this beautiful property for a week. There were four adults and four kids ranging from 11 years old to 15 years old. The house itself is beautiful as well as the property. It was kept sparkling clean by the staff everyday. Our cook Anthony made delicious meals including authentic Jamaican food which was the most appreciated. Andrew our butler took wonderful care of us and was very attentive. A few things to note: 1) the water in the bay is very calm and shallow. My kids were looking for something a bit deeper to do some swimming and some gentle waves which we finally had on the last day 2) there is construction going on right next door which can get quite loud at times and difficult to sit outside and enjoy a drink and conversation when there is a power drill in the background. When I made the owner aware of the situation she did try and contact the owner of the villa that was being constructed on but the last two days we had this construction on and off which was very distracting 3) there is a busy highway right beside the house and it can get quite loud. Bring earplugs for nighttime and be aware that even during the day it can be noisy All in all a lovely stay which is really made by the staff of the house. They will take extra good care of you. Just be aware that it isn’t as quiet as I thought it would be.

We could not have asked for a more amazing property. The house was huge with 4 master suites and an additional full bath downstairs. Every room was immaculate. Multiple outdoor seating areas, all beautiful. Beautiful pool with huge cabana with enough comfortable seating for our entire party of 8. Beautiful grass lawn leading down to our private beach was perfect for activities. Beach volleyball and kayaks as well as seating for 8 on the beach. Water is very shallow so a little hard to swim, but perfect for kids. The staff was simply amazing and took care of our every need. They did all the shopping, cooking and cleanup for every meal and every meal was exquisite. Served dinner on the beach and set us up with a bonfire with s'mores on one night. By the end of the week, it felt like they were our extended family. The only drawback was the fact that the property is very close to the main road so there was often lots of traffic noise. Some days worse than others. We learned to overlook it. Thank you for an amazing family vacation experience we will always remember. #missing andrew!

Sleepy Shallows was an amazing experience. The house itself was better than the pictures described. The outdoor space including beach and cabana were fantastic. Andrew, Chef Anthony, Keno and Kadine made our trip even better than we could have hoped. They were attentive, accommodating, understanding and patient. Chef Anthony's food was delicious and Andrew's special cocktails were excellent. And all had lovely personalities. We recommend Sleep Shallows to anyone!

10/10 experience staying at Sleepy Shallows with my family. We stayed here for a week to celebrate my dad's 60th birthday. Our groups consisted of 8 adults and 4 children under the age of 5. Having the villa, pool, and stretch of private calm beach made everything extremely accessible and easy with young kids. The staff made our experience completely luxurious and attended to our every need. The property manager was answered questions very quickly and was even phone us during our stay when we had a specific question. The other reviews are accurate in that the villa is along a main road and the cars/trucks can be quite loud, especially in the early morning which can affect sleep. Bring earplugs! One small area of improvement would be the process to settle bills for the cost of food/drinks at the end of the stay. We were handed a bunch of loose receipts, some hand written and asked to add everything up and complete the conversion rate. A better process would be to provide a summary and if needed, guests can reference the receipts after. Overall, this vacation far exceeded an all-inclusive resort and the staff made our stay unforgettable. Hope to return here again some day!

Our first family trip outside of the US since Covid. Our trip was amazing from the second we arrived. The staff is unbelievably attentive! Andrew our butler tended to every request and need and made great desserts. Anthony the chef prepared the most amazing meals for our family of seven. We requested a pig roast on the beach and voila!! Kadine kept the house pristine at all times and Khino kept the grounds and pool spotless! The house was very comfortable with all amenities. Every bedroom had an en-suite with air conditioning. Our son got engaged during our stay and the staff made it so memorable! They floated flowers on the pool and put candles in the cabana for them! It was truly a beautiful vacation that will always be treasured. Thank you so much to Jacqui and staff for hosting us!! We hope to be back!

We stayed the week prior to Christmas for family celebration with 6 of us to include 4 young adults / teens to celebrate health and happiness. We were treated like kings and queens with every detail accounted for. Andrew took care of every need, trip, shopping, adventures. Anthony was an amazing chef and tailored to our tastes with beautiful meals 3 times a day, and even a finicky daughter. Kadine ensured everything was picture perfect, tidy, and let us play with Lilly her beautiful resident pup. Khino kept the grounds immaculate and always helping the team, helping with kayaks etc. From picture perfect mornings with hot breakfast and coffee to cooking fish the boys caught and fresh lobster and beach bonfire to close out the stay. It was perfect. A great location, a beautiful home and a wonderful team. Just what we needed to reconnect, rest, relax, and enjoy the ocean!

We had a beautiful week at Sleepy Shallows. The house was truly lovely and the room configuration was perfect for our group of 8. Having the A/C in each room at night and comfy beds made sleeping a breeze. The nightly turn down service was above and beyond expectation. Our favorite part of the entire house and where we spent the most time was the lanai (outdoor covered patio area). When we weren't in the ocean (which was for hours everyday) we were playing cards, reading and dozing off in the comfy furniture provided. Gloria cooked us 3 meals per day. That woman can cook. For a mom who is constantly being asked "What's for dinner?" not having a lift a finger or even go in to the kitchen was the highlight of my trip. Her fried chicken, ox tail and jerk chicken are all out of this world. Note to those traveling with kids we stopped at the store on our way in and picked up snacks (chips and other unhealthy items) but we found that the kids enjoyed having these available during the day to snack on. The water in Bengal Beach is clear and warm. It changed color based on the cloud cover and rain. We enjoyed floating in the ocean with cocktails (bring thermal cups) and playing frisbee and football. great family time was had during this trip. As for the staff we shed a tear when leaving. Andrew is a magician. He took care of us the entire week and his ability to sense what we needed even before we knew it left as all in awe. Keno, worked non stop from sun up to 10 at night. He kept the pool spotless, built us a few amazing fires and was just a joy to talk to. I can't say enough about these two and I wish I could have just put them on the plane with us and taken them home. The only suggestion I would have would be to provide some type of pre welcome packet to guests. It could include directions to the house, menu options, excursions available, transport to/from airport and tipping policy. As a seasoned traveler I knew the questions to ask ahead of time but this would only enhance a guests visit. Two huge thumbs up for this property. Beach living at its finest but the staff is what put it over the top for us. Cheers to them.

My family has visited Jamaica several times and stayed at different resorts. It’s always been wonderful. But, staying at this house with just the family and a staff that is caring, helpful, and attentive was a slice of heaven. This is real Jamaica. Everything you could want and more. I simply can’t say enough positive things about the house, the staff, and The FOOD! Just wow. We will be back.

We just can’t say enough about this vacation! It was definitely one for the books! We relaxed, made memories, went on adventures and fell in love with the staff! Andrew, Kadine, Gloria, & Gregory stole our hearts! The hardwork, personable connections, and each tiny detail was adored, appreciated and didn’t go unnoticed! We just had the best time from a couple of excursions to not having to leave this beautiful and comfortable home!! It was the perfect size, location and had great amenities! This was the first ever vacation that I was far from being ready for it to end! Thank you for absolutely everything!

Sleepy Shallows is truly magical. We traveled to Jamaica with 4 adults and 4 kids for my mom's 70th and my daughter's 3rd birthday. The location on a quiet secluded bay with calm waters was perfect for my 5yr old and 3 yr old. The house is well maintained and very warm and welcoming. The beds are extremely comfortable and the staff kept the rooms tidy with turn down service in the morning and the evening. Gloria, the chef, made impeccable meals for breakfast, lunch and dinner. She even baked cupcakes for my daughters birthday and a rum cake for my moms. Andrew, the butler, was available to address all our needs including arranging for excursions, groceries, covid testing and even took us crab hunting at night. My kids loved playing hide and seek with him and Kadine (housekeeper) around the grounds. Gregory, the groundskeeper, was always up and about maintaining the landscaping, keeping the pool tidy and building beautiful bonfires for the last few nights of our stay. I would absolutely come back with the family and bring some friends as well. The staff is truly what makes this trip stand out from all the rest.

Had a wonderful stay. Perfect outdoor space and there was not a bad bedroom in the house. Beds were comfy. Bathrooms and closets spacious. The villa staff took care of every detail and served us up delicious meals 3 times a day and kept the cooler packed. We are so grateful for all their hard work and would definitely recommend to friends!

We throughly enjoyed our stay at Sleepy Shallows. Thanks to the staff for making our stay amazing. On arrival, we were greeted by the staff and given a tour of the property. The property was very well maintained. The beach was perfect. And there were so many outdoor seating areas. The pagoda was perfect for napping. There were ample beach chairs for the entire group. The stand up paddle board and kayak provided were in good shape. The entire staff was amazing. They were friendly, hard working, and went above and beyond to make our stay flawless. The rooms were cleaned daily by Kadine, and there was even a turn down service at night. Nice touch! Andrew was always available to make sure were happy. Thanks to Ms Gloria for the lovely meals and desserts! The last night, we ate dinner on the beach. There was even a bonfire to finish the night, thanks to Gregory. Overall, we had no complaints. Everything was perfect!

What an amazing vacation! The property was lovely and the house was perfect for our needs, but what truly made this home special was the staff. First, the house. Each bedroom met every need of our party. We were two families – 4 adults and 5 children. We each had bedrooms that were perfect. Plenty of closet and storage space, seating areas and comfortable beds. The game room upstairs was a fun and fabulous place for the kids to play at night when the sun went down and the parents were relaxing after dinner. The main level of the house was well appointed and again, the details were perfect. The outside space under cover was perfect with the Main dining table for 10. The other seating area with 6 very comfortable chairs and table was perfect for any time of day and the seating for 4 was another wonderful spot for conversation with coffee or a cocktail. The gazebo was huge and a great place for everyone to gather during the day or at night. It was also a perfect and comfortable place to take an afternoon nap. The two hammocks in the yard were large, comfortable wonderful for an afternoon siesta! The kids really enjoyed the pool and the beach. The beach was beautiful, and the water extremely calm. The staff – words cannot describe the care and pride they take in their jobs. Miss Gloria’s food was delicious and plentiful. She made traditional Jamaican dishes and some American fare as well. Everything was crafted with love and care. We had a special request recipe for New Year’s Eve Day that we sent ahead, and she took care of it with ease and a smile. Gregory was up before dawn every day to take care of the grounds and make sure the patios were perfect for the day ahead for us. He continued to work tirelessly throughout the day and night to make sure all things were beautiful including the bonfires he made for us. Andrew was fabulous making sure everything was perfect. He always had us well stocked with cool beverages during the day and wine and cocktails at night were perfect. We couldn’t ask for more. And Kadine – from the moment we walked in, she made us feel like there was nothing that was too small to ask. Once we got settled at the house and had beverages, she sat down with us and went through our menu requests and all the details. She then put them in motion each and every day. She did more than keep the house sparkling and tidy, it was immaculate. We can’t wait to go back!

We had the most amazing relaxing vacation!Every meal chef Gloria made was absolutely delicious. Gregory did an awesome job at keeping the grounds kept up, the pool clean and making great bon fires on the beach. Kadine kept our rooms and the house super tidy and did great helping set things up with Andrew. Andrew was an outstanding butler always making sure we had what we needed, and having a good time. The most fun was the spontaneous crab hunting that Trent, Kristen, Andrew and Kadine did one night that was so much fun that the whole crew and family did it again the next night. We caught so many that chef Gloria cooked them up for us to eat. We also had fun walking the shore at night looking for sea life like puffer fish, needle fish and sting rays. Loved relaxing in the sun, swimming, drinking and collecting sea shells! We will absolutely be back and hopefully with some friends because we loved it so much!

The process from beginning to end was seamless! Jacqui was always quick to respond and provided assistance above and beyond. She was so accommodating, kind and helpful! One of our children has special needs and therefore, I had more questions. Everyone, from Jacqui to the driver Andrew to the butler Andrew, helped with my questions, finding solutions and always being incredibly kind. The villa is serene and peaceful, the staff was incredible-attentive, accommodating and always had a smile. Andrew, the butler, anticipated our needs and was very knowledgeable about the island, very attentive and a joy to get to know. Gloria’s cooking was always delicious, Abigail kept everything so clean and tidy and Gregory does an excellent job with the grounds. He also built a bonfire that we enjoyed the last night! Andrew the driver was so helpful, full of knowledge and helped with the planning of our excursions! Truly, a wonderful trip!

We had an awesome time at Sleepy Shallows villa. The staff was beyond great. We tried many local dishes prepared by the chef Gloria and none disappointed. We traveled with 3 kids (2yrs, 3yrs, and 4yrs) and they all had a blast playing in the pool, swimming in the bay (calm waves), building sand castles, and chasing crabs around. Andrew, the butler became an honary member of the family by the end of the trip and gave us a vacation that you could not get staying at a resort. Abigail, the housekeeper, had our rooms and the house sparkling around the clock. And Gregory was great at keeping the outdoors looking great (and even helped with some of the cooking!). This vacation was extremely relaxing and the team here made sure any excursions we wanted to do were taken care of at a moments notice. Do not hesitate booking this house if you want to enjoy Jamaica like a local - stress free! Thanks again for everything!

We traveled to this beach paradise with my family of 4 and another family of 4, consisting of 4 adults and 4 children under the age of 10. The house was absolutely perfect for our group (we could have had a other 2-4 people and been completely comfortable). The location was easy from Montego Bay International and transport was coordinated via the house manager. The house came with a full service staff, consisting of a butler (met our every need and more!!!), chef (amazing Jamaican dishes for every meal + handled all grocery shopping!), handyman (did this and that and added that extra one degree of niceness to our stay) and maid (made the property fresh and clean on the daily!). These folks truly made the stay one of our most memorable vacations ever and we are well traveled! I can’t say anything negative about this experience! This is a place we will likely re-visit!

The house staff was absolutely amazing. All of them are very passionate about their roles and give 200% to make sure their guests are enjoying themselves and comfortable. The food was fantastic, which is always the toughest part.

Our trip was amazing! We had our family of nine, The Villa was as beautiful as their website showed. Nadia the chef was awesome! Her menu was creative and delicious. Andrew the butler was the best ever! He was always their for our every need. Abilgal kept our room in pristine shape. Wade do many new memories, we will most definitely be back!

We had a great trip to Sleepy Shallows! The staff was great and the manager was super responsive and helped with all of our questions. Nadia’s cooking was awesome, especially the oxtail! Andrew made sure we had whatever we needed, was great with the kids, and made each meal special with the presentation. Abigail and Justine did a great job with housekeeping; the rooms were clean and turned down when it was time to sleep. Gregory kept the grounds immaculate, built a good bonfire, and helped with the paddle boards and kayaks. Would highly recommend staying here.

We stayed at this property for a weekend in January to celebrate my son's first birthday with family. Jacqui was very responsive to my many messages which was quite helpful. The house is very clean with a rustic, beach charm. I found the rooms to be spacious and the beds to be comfortable. Miss Pauline runs the household and is also the chef. Her food was fantastic especially the brown stewed chicken, fried chicken and oxtails. We truly enjoyed every meal. Gregory was quite amazing in setting up the bonfire on the beach and we roasted marshmallows for our smores. I believe that they have done a great job implementing COVID-19 protocols and the staff do their best to maintain their distance while still providing service. Thank you to everyone for making my son's birthday weekend amazing!

We had an absolute blast in the Villa and couldn't ask for a better location for our desires. It was isolated in the sense that it is not in a tourist "hotspot" although a 45min+ drive to Ocho Rios can get you all the attractions and touristy things you want. The staff was terrific and really put the experience over the top, everything Miss Paulina cooked was terrific and we are still coping without having desert after every meal!! The landscaping and garden area out back are stunning and we spent most of our mornings and evenings enjoying the porch and cabana areas. The interiors, furnishings, beach and sports equipment are due for a little TLC/replacement but nothing that is a deal breaker. The beach was perfect for the kids (7,10,13) as it is a gradual drop to 6ft deep almost 100-120 yards from the beach. Our Excursion out that was the biggest hit was to visit the Blue Hole swimming and cliff jumping. Great memories made as a family and a perfect getaway to start 2021 right!!!

Sleepy Shallows Our long family weekend at Sleepy Shallows was fantastic. The villa was spacious and beautiful. The staff were professional and very welcoming. They took care of everything for us. Chef Pauline made fantastic meals, Desmond and Diane kept the villa and grounds impeccable. Deen was more than a driver, he was a friendly and personal tour guide on our excursions. The beach and kayaks were great fun, the pool was relaxing. The staff made the Villa an experience we will always remember. They are friendly and very professional.

Sleepy shallows was just what we all needed. The house is beautiful, cozy and private. It is full of amenities and plenty of places to sit and relax. Words cannot begin to express our gratitude to the staff. They are what made our vacation by far one of the very best we have ever had. By the end of the week we felt like we were all family. Pauline was an amazing chef! She provided us with a little guidance to get started and then planned a menu that made each day an experience in Jamaican cuisine. Robert answered all of our questions and ensured whatever we needed was available including a beautiful Valentine’s Day evening bonfire. Diane and Loy thought of everything to keep us comfortable and pampered during the stay. Sleepy Shallows is a special place and thank you for giving us all a much needed break!

This property has it all - comfortable rooms, amazing staff, well planned exterior areas including a great pool (sun in the morning and shade in the afternoon), a fabulous lounging gazebo, outside eating area and plenty of places to lounge in or out of the sun. The beach front and ocean are beautiful and private. We had great weather so we spent all of our time outdoors on the property which is very well maintained by Robert. He could not do enough for us. Diane kept the inside rooms neat and clean - making sure our bedrooms and bathrooms had everything we needed. Our chef Pauline was new to the property but not new to providing the most delicious meals. She helped us shop for food and plan the meals. Not one of our meals left us disappointed. She paid extra attention to dietary needs and keeping smiles on the kids faces. We felt very fortunate to have such a kind, experienced staff. This property is safe and well situated. We had all we wanted on the property (sun, sand, kayaks, paddle boards, pool, game room, and plenty of spots to relax and play games), Our drivers (Andrew and Dean) were great getting us around. We had a few bumps. I mention that only to say that Jacqui and Alec were very responsive and did everything to make our stay a good one. Well done. We will recommend Sleepy Shallows to our friends and while we like to try new places, this is one we would consider returning to. Thanks Sleepy Shallows for a great Holiday Family getaway - the lobster dinner on the beach with the bonfire was the best New Year's Eve ever. Great memories were made.

I cannot even begin to describe how perfect of a trip my family and I had at Sleepy Shallow. The home is beautiful, with a private pool and private beach and a ton of warmth and hospitality. Robert was incredible in providing everything we could possibly need throughout our stay. He was kind and thoughtful and always there when we needed him. Chef Rodney cooked the most delicious local and international dishes. He was incredibly sweet with both of our kids and made them whatever they wanted whenever they wanted it - always with a big smile on his face! Ms. Diane kept the house in perfect condition and impossibly clean considering there were 4 messy grown-ups and 2 even messier children staying there. Highly, highly, highly recommend.

The property was great for our extended family of 10 ranging in age from 8 to 78. There was lots to do for everyone and the staff was excellent.
