This quirky and darling beach cottage is the perfect location. Close to the beach and near Von’s on Catalina Island. With fans on and windows open we were quite comfortable. We love this home and return to it year after year.

This charming house was so perfect for our two night stay. Location is ideal, home was clean and Deborah was extremely kind and accommodating. We look forward to coming back soon.

We loved our stay at Catalina Avenue. The house is just as we expected for an older beach cabin. The house was cozy but had plenty of room for us and the owner was very accommodating. The check in was super easy, with a lock box on the front door. They do need to replace the kitchen smoke alarm; it started beeping on the day we were to leave. Also, we could not get the microwave to work. Thank you for making our stay so enjoyable.

Decent place, small but cozy. The floor in the middle section is slanted a bit strangely giving you an uneasy feeling. Downside is there is no AC. I stayed here during a September heatwave and had to open all the windows, blast the fans and put wet towels on myself to stay cool.

No venation in cabin, electrical outlets were not useful, need extension cord, many of the lights did not work., no bulbs or not plugged in. Nosey, sounded like people were walking on the roof, but they were next store. Good location. Clean, enough room for the three of us.

We ended up having an issue and being unable to stay here, but working with the owner to resolve it was wonderful. She made every effort to accommodate us and I enjoyed talking to her even under stressful circumstances.

Really enjoyed the location of this cottage. Just a couple blocks to town, the beach and Vons. Made it easy to get around with kids. The cottage was charming in rustic, beachy way, seems like most cottages in the area tend to be small, older and very close together, with little outdoor space, so to be expected. I would recommend the owner invest in decent mattresses for all the beds. They were extremely hard. The nicer pillows helped but no one wanted to sleep in the bunk bed due to how uncomfortable the mattresses were. But overall, it was a cute little house, similar to many others in the neighborhood, and the location was top priority.

I think it was a great location, there are things that for the price should be updated. 1. invest in blinds that work and are not broken. 2. Invest in a smart TV so people can hook up to their own streaming if you're not going to actually have anything other than 2-13, not a lot of people use DVD's anymore. 3. It's kind of dirty, maybe pay for a deep clean. 4. Invest in mattresses, again for the price there should be beds that are remotly comfortable. It was like sleeping on wood. Last, which is not the owners fault buy just an FYI, The neighbors on the right are SO loud, ALL night. We were all woken up numberous times thoughout the night and early morning hours. I'm all for having a good time but some people like to be sleeping at 3am. It did the job and I would stay there again but only if there were new mattresses.

This was our second year at this property, and my love for it only deepened. It is an authentic piece of Catalina history and is clean, cute and quaint. We will return next year!

This cozy little house is small, but had everything that we needed. Location is great, just 2 blocks from the beach & 1 block from Vons market. I had one small issue with the internet and the owners response was quick! I would definitely stay here again.

We enjoyed our stay here in this cute little cottage. My only complaint is that we went during a very hot weekend, and it was very hot inside the cottage, no air conditioning, but the fans helped a bit. This cottage is close to everything in Avalon, right around the corner from Von's!

This was a great little place. Had that beach cottage feel. Only thing I would recommend is adding to your listing is to being some DVD's to watch movies at night. But this was a great place would definitely rent it again!!!

In general the place didn’t look it was ready for us. It was dirty.

I loved this classic beach bungalow. It was clean, quirky, and comfortable. The location is just a few short minute's walk to the beach, and is in the historic flats of Avalon in Catalina. The house has all that you need (laundry, kitchen, sitting room, two bedrooms and 1 full bathroom with a shower and a powder room bathroom). An added bonus is the new Vons just around the corner. This home is not fancy, but it is walking distance to all, welcoming and historically interesting. We would definitely rent again.

Cute, small beach house located perfectly in Avalon to access everything the town has to offer. The house has two queen beds, as well as a smaller room with bunk beds. The place is great to lay your head, and relax in between island activities. As with most houses in Avalon, the house is older but meets all needs. Additionally the neighbors, a mix of long-term & permanent residents, were really nice & engaging.

Arrived on the express and easily found the cottage and was able to enter following easy instructions. The cottage was very clean, appliances were mostly new. Everything we needed was at hand. The cottage was comfortable, warm and cozy. Very much enjoyed my visit.

Great property for our needs - a place to sleep and shower! Difficulty communicating with manager on arrival, but found previous email with instructions so it ended up fine. Easy check in/out. Cleanliness was our only concern - with a $115 cleaning fee I wouldn’t expect to have black sole of our feet after an hour of walking barefoot after showering! 😫

This was our second stay here and we enjoyed it once again. It's a great laid back cottage in a convenient location. We look forward to coming back again :)

There is a lot wrong with this place. There are very few electrical plugs in the house. To plug in your computer, phone or fans you have to unplug something else. There is no garbage disposal. The place slopes so bad from front to back you have to prop books under the doors to keep them open. The latch mechanism on the front door is not there so the door will not stay closed unless it is locked with the deadbolt. By far the worst aspect is the floor plan. To get from the back bedroom to the front of the house you have to go through the front bedroom. Not a good thing to do if the people are still asleep. What we did was squeeze past the washer and dryer to go out the back door then walk through the alley to get back on the street and go in the front door. The problem now is there is no door on the front bedroom so you have to be quiet in the kitchen as to not disturb your guests. Only one shower is an inconvenience for 4 people. The place was only 'broom clean' upon arrival. The wood floors were so dirty you couldn't walk around bare foot or they were black with dirt. The neighborhood can be noisy, with several nights the neighbors carrying on a conversation in the back alley into the midnight hours. On the positive side, the place is on the flats with easy access to the beach. There is ample water pressure and hot water. The bed did creak a bit but was ok on comfort. Our family has been coming to Catalina for nearly 60 years and with most of the places we have stayed our first reaction upon arriving is 'this place is nice'. This was not the case with this place.

My friend and I stayed here again this summer with our kids. We were excited to see many upgrades, the best being new engineered flooring. We love this house because its walking distance to everything. Our kids are still in strollers so being in the flats is imperative. We love that there is plenty of space bring them in at night and only 3 stairs to climb. Another new location perk is the Vons market is complete and just down the street. The home is light and inviting and not as cluttered as many of the other cottages we have stayed in. There is a skylight in one of the rooms that lights the entire room at sunrise even though it has been covered with a decorative fan. We have learned to pack an eyemask to help us sleep a little longer. I'm still hoping for a chest of drawers or bar in the closet to hang clothes. There is no ac but lots of fans availible. Alll in all we really enjoy staying there. Its not a five star hotel but it has that Catalina charm we love and suits our needs perfectly.

Location was good, home not ADA format. A step would be helpful. The drop was too big to enter the washroom so it was unusable for my stay. No handrails in the 3 step enteranxe while was unsafe and very difficult for me to enter and exit the property. The bottom lock broke on our 1st night locking us out of the house until the handy man got in through a window. We left Friday and the lock still was not fixed. We only could lock the front door via deadbolt. Noisy beds when you moved. Not the best experience sorry to say.

This place is amazing it had everything my family needed to stay at Catalina Island from comfortable beds to cooking utensils. Had an amazing time for sure I’m coming back

The home was in disrepair. Needs quite a bit of work. Couch covers looked liked they have never been cleaned along with bed comforters. Carpet was old and dirty.

Cleaners showed up an hour after check in. It was too hot to put my toddlers down for a nap. The house was decent. I had a couple of issues, but the property owner was quick to respond and resolve. The neighbors were very friendly and we enjoyed our stay. Noisy, but it is noisy anywhere you stay in walking distance from the main road.

The house was okay, very warm, probably not much insulation. When we called about the fan not working in the first bedroom we were given a box fan which was very helpful. Just kind of a "funky" place
