Last 1 1/2 miles to cabin is horrendous. They state in description that it is a state maintained road; if you value your vehicle don't drive it. Cabin is nice enough, but needs a thorough cleaning. Use to clean cabins for a living and never found dead bugs laying around or cobwebs in house or on deck. Always double checked before renter arrived. These were also in mountainous and wooded areas.Pots and pans leave a lot to be desired. Dirty dishes and silverware Will not rent again

This is a great place for family vacation. It's up a gravel road and quiet. Open the windows and let in the sounds of the steam in the property. Well equipped kitchen. The fire pit right on the banks of the steam is a delight.

We had a great relaxing visit in this beautiful home. The little ones really enjoyed playing in the creek. Listening to the water with the windiws open or on tge porch was so relaxing.

Stayed in cabin for week with 5 grandchildren. Plenty of room for everyone. They loved the creek and large yard for playing. Wife and I enjoyed the massive back covered porch and hearing the flowing creek. Kitchen was well equipped. We never even turned on the TV. Just unplugged. Host was quick to respond to any questions we had during our visit.

Good: the cabin is adorable: spacious, cozy, very clean. We loved the deck overlooking the creek as well as the fire pit by the creek. As a serious arachnophobe, I was delighted with how clean the deck was considering it’s in the middle of the woods! I sat out there every morning and most evenings and it was very nice. The grill was super handy several evenings for dinner. Well-stocked with towels, paper products, hand soap, etc. Overall, it was a comfortable and relaxing place to spend a week.
Not so good: the road up to the cabin was not “well-maintained” as advertised, at least not if you have a sedan. An suv or 4wd would be fine, but it was not good for our car at all, and I would’ve appreciated a warning about that. The shower heads were very old and not pleasant at all…not a huge expense to change those out. Faucet water pressure was weak, especially in the kitchen. And there were 7 out of 10 missing lightbulbs in the main room, making it very dim and not great for reading. One more thing: the water is terrible. So metallic tasting and smelling. A water filter would be great, although I’m sure that’s an expensive upgrade.
One of the things that was so nice about this cabin was the affordability, and we understand upgrades can make that cost go up, but some simple, relatively inexpensive upgrades would make it more pleasant overall. It really is a great cabin in a great location, just needs a little bit of attention.

Loved the cabin and especially the creek behind it. The cabin has everything we needed and then some. Anytime I had a question it was answered immediately by the Burkes. The patio overlooking the creek was our favorite part! Thank you so much, looking forward to coming back!

This cabin is the perfect place for relaxation. My wife and I enjoyed sitting on the back porch and listing to the creek as it rushed over rocks and logs. The furnishings were old but clean and functional. The location was great for my fly fishing expeditions each day. The cabin was clean and I could rest at the end of the day hiking and wading. Our host Gary was very accommodating when we wanted to extend our stat. We will return again.

We had a wonderful stay. The creek was so peaceful. Most of my time was spent on the back porch reading and listening the creek. Even though it rained every day, we still enjoyed our experience.

We had a great time at the cabin. It is quite a steep drive up but we very much appreciated the privacy wgile still being close enough to dome great hikes. The beds were very comfortable and we had everything we needed to cook all of our meals. The kids enjoyed playing the creek. It is worth noting that the listing states there is a hot tub but it in fact it is a garden tub in the bathroom. Still very nice, just were really hoping for a hot tub.

We stayed for Thanksgiving week and really enjoyed the house. It is a little dated and needs a few updates but over all clean, comfy and cozy. The creek is a nice bonus. Also the house is stocked with all the paper products you’ll need as well. GPS takes you right to the house and no extra directions are needed which was also nice. We will definitely rent again!

The cabin was beautiful and just as described. The creek was the best part. I hope we can come back soon and spend more time at the cabin vs sight seeing.

When you are looking for that peaceful and beautiful place to unwind, meditate, sit by the creek and listen to it babble all your worries away or go sightseeing this is where you need to go. You are not far from Gatlinburg, Pigeon Forge, Maggie Valley, Bryson City, Cherokee and many other exciting places to visit. The drive on the Parkway between Cherokee and Gatlinburg is beautiful no matter what time of year. Then come home from exploring and light the fireplace and relax with a cup of hot chocolate or coffee. The neighbors are friendly, but very quiet. Thank you for such a wonderful place to call home.

We usually take a vacation to the Smokies every year and we always stay at a different place. We decided to stay on the NC side this year. I came across this listing and fell in love. When we got there it didn’t disappoint. The creek that ran behind the cabin was so peaceful. The neighborhood was quiet. There are several other cabins around it but you wouldn’t know it if you weren’t outside looking at them. There were no peace disturbances, loud neighbors, etc. While there we had the unfortunate experience of breaking down on a Friday with a mechanic bit being able to look at the car until Monday. It did take a little bit to get ahold of Gary because he was out of state on business but once I did he was very quick to accommodate us and extend our stay. If we ever travel to this part again we will definitely stay here again.

Rushing Waters Cabins was a beautiful as described. It was off the beaten path but worth the ride. The host was wonderful and nice to respond to my question or need we had.
The Only ding I could give was the water in the bathroom sinks and showers had a rust smell. It was fine in the kitchen.
I would recommend this cabin to anyone! ❤️

The cabin and property have been well maintained. The check in and out process is very easy. The creek running through the property was fun to play in. We would stay there again.

We enjoyed our stay at the cabin. We loved the porch and the creek! Gary was very responsive to any questions we had. They also had plenty of paper products, laundry detergent, dryer sheets, trash bags, hand soap, dish soap, etc, so you shouldn’t need to bring any of those things. The beds were comfortable except for the daybed, our daughter was not a fan. Getting up the mountain was a little tricky, our SUV and our son’s sedan lost traction a few times, but Gary told us we have to go up a little faster and that would help. It did help, but the last stretch of the road up is gravel and dirt, so your car may need an alignment after your stay. There are a few bumpy spots. Also, do not try to go to Cherokee using Washington Creek Road, we almost got stuck! Overall, it was a great trip, definitely go to Darnell Farms and we also loved Soco Falls!

We came to North Carolina to see the forest plants of the Appalachian mountains and this was the perfect wooded spot to stay with a small creek and lots of rhododendron on the hillside. The cabin was very spacious especially since there was just 2 of us. It was very well supplied and organized and comfortable. Unlike most places, there was lots of lighting in the rooms. Gary was thoughtful to send us the entry information early so that we could print the information before we hit the road which was well before our visit. We enjoyed our stay very much.

Nice house in a quiet area. Close to beautiful waterfalls and hiking. We enjoyed visiting Gorges State Park and the surrounding areas. Fully stocked kitchen with everything needed to make meals. Best part was sitting around the fire pit by the babbling creek…heaven! Would definitely recommend.

The property is exactly as depicted in the photos. It is a perfect place to disconnect and relax. Many hours were spent on the back deck listening to the rushing waters of the creek. It's convenient to local attractions, yet far enough away to enjoy the peace and tranquility of the mountains.

This cabin was everything we needed for time together as a family of five. Beds were comfortable, everything was clean and uncomplicated. We did not watch any tv and spent our time exploring the creek and enjoying campfires every night. Location was great for day trips to mountains and rivers nearby. Restaurants within 10 minute drive were delicious and the cabin's kitchen had everything to make our own meals as well. IGA grocery store nearby was very helpful.

Me and my family stayed during Christmas. Of course there happened to be a winter storm that shut everything down nearby that we had wanted to do with our 3 kids however we made the best out of it and the cabin was great. The kids didn't complain as they had board games and the view and cabin was just beautiful and perfect for our family! If we decide to go up that way again we would def look into staying here again! Don't hesitate to book this little slice of paradise!

My family and I enjoyed staying at the Burke's piece of paradise in the Smoky Mountains. The cabin was stocked with all the kitchen amenities and supplies that we needed. The bathrooms were stocked with plenty of fresh linens, toilet paper and shampoo. My sons enjoyed playing board games that were upstairs in the loft of the cabin. My husband and I were impressed with how comfortable the mattresses were. We enjoyed being near the city, but secluded in the mountains. It was refreshing to wake up to the sound of the creek outside.
In addition to the amenities and supplies, my family's expectations were exceeded. We arrived at the cabin the day after Christmas. The cabin was decorated for Christmas, with a nicely lit tree and decorations. On the table was a jar of chocolate, which my sons enjoyed. Mr. Gary was a very polite and kind host, answering questions that we had beforehand in a timely manner and providing us with an abundance of information before our trip to ensure that we had a wonderful time.
I am thankful for our experience and we hope to return soon!
