We had a great vacation this year. The house was absolutely beautiful and it fit all our needs. The kids loved the dorm room. The house was well equipped, clean and spacious. Extended family, first time visitors to the Cape. The house was perfect for our group. Plenty of space for everyone. The bonus room with the twin beds was a hit as they called it "cousin camp". There were empty beds elsewhere but they all wanted to stay up there together. The home had everything we needed and more. We all fell in love with the Cape and will definitely stay here next time.

The home was very well appointed, included everything we could possibly need, and was very clean! The location was great allowing for walks and bike rides to the beach and easy access to many amenities. Owners responsive and easy to work with.

My family along with 2 others travel to the Cape every summer for a week.  This beautiful home was the perfect location for us.  The well manicured and mostly enclosed backyard provided our kids the opportunity to run around when not at the beach located about 0.5 miles away.  The house is spacious, was spotless at check-in, and had all the amenities we needed for our week stay.  Route 28 offered plenty of activities to keep the kids busy and the nearby grocery store proved very convenient.One last point that was very much a plus were my interactions with the owner.  The  check-in and check-out processes were straight forward with clear upfront directions.  Going above and beyond what could be expected from the homeowner when one member of our party forgot some belongings, when notified the owner quickly connected with the cleaning staff, had the belongings put aside safely and even shipped those belongings back out to our friends.  The service was greatly appreciated.In summary, great house, location and owner.

Lovely house, nicely furnished. Kitchen was well stocked with appliances, dishes, pans, etc. Yard was beautifully landscaped and they even have a small herb garden. A very nice master bedroom with a nice master bathroom and a large closet. There is also a den downstairs with a pull out couch that my sister used, with another full bathroom. Upstairs are two queen bedrooms and the 8 bedroom bunk room that all share a full bathroom upstairs. They also have a nice outside shower. We were able to walk to the beach from the house. Overall we were very happy with this rental.

We loved this home in South Yarmouth! Our extended family of 9 including 3 children, grandparents and an auntie visited in August and we found the home to be comfortable, clean and well appointed-even better than the pictures. We had enough room to spread out but also enjoyed time together in the comfortable kitchen area as well as the deck and patio. From bedding and towels, to cooking utensils and bar ware there was nothing we couldn't find to make our stay unforgettable. We have been renting in the Cape for about 15 years and this is by far the best home we have stayed in. The location was also very good as it was near stores and attractions and the beach was a quick drive or easy walk away. The owner provided a great welcome packet with very easy to follow check in and out directions, and when we had a question about the sound system he responded promptly and helped us figure out what we needed. We already miss the house and can't wait to vacation there again next year.

We rented this house for a week right before the July 4th Holiday. It was a great choice for my husband, kids, parents and my brothers family. The house had everything we needed and more. The kids room was so much fun for the four cousins to spend quality time playing and building memories. Being on a cul-de-sac was especially nice. The kids got to ride bikes without fear of traffic. They played kickball in the front yard which was very spacious. We enjoyed the fire-pit in the evenings. The walk to the beach was a little longer than expected, but quite pleasant. The dads drove the kids down to the beach with all the gear, while I walked with my mom and got some steps in for the day. The kitchen had everything we needed for the times we ate at the house. Two separate dining areas also gave the adults quiet time in the dining room during dinner while the kids could have fun at the kitchen table. My family lives on the west coast, far from my east coast parents and brother's family. Vacationing at this house was so enjoyable that it has now inspired us to make extended family vacations a tradition so the cousins can continue to build on their friendships. We may try different places but if we come back to Cape Cod, my dad has made it clear he only wants to rent this house if it's available. In addition, while here, whenever we had a question, Steve was always available via phone or text if we needed him. Thanks Steve and Deb for providing such a great retreat and rental through VRBO.

We really enjoyed our stay. The home was very well equipped and very clean! The location was great, and we really enjoyed the yard.

This is our second time staying and we loved it again. The place is kept up beautifully and it's a great location.

My family and I rented this house during the last week of July, 2014. The house is beautiful as described; it was a perfect size for us and we enjoyed a wonderful week. On arrival we found the house to be pretty dirty. We spent time cleaning and spoke to the owner and to the cleaning company several times on that day and through the course of the week. We documented the problems with pictures and sent them to the owner and to the cleaning company. A few weeks later, we were shocked to discover that we were being assessed charges for property damage we did not cause. We were also upset at the measures the hired cleaning company had gone through to blame us for the very problems we had complained about. The owners offered us a compromise – an increased refund of security deposit (not the entire deposit) for our agreement not to post our reviews. We declined. We lost money unfairly. Be sure to document everything you find upon arrival and the state in which you leave everything when you depart.

Review of VRBO Property 454943 (Smugglers Hide-a-Way), South Yarmouth, NY My family and I had a lovely week on Cape Cod the 3rd week of August 2014. There were 10 of us: myself and my companion, my two adult children and spouses and my four grandchildren (ages 3 through 9). The property provided a most wonderful setting. The site exceeded my expectations. The house was lovely, spacious and beautifully decorated. All the extras, especially the kitchen stuff, helped make the stay most comfortable. We dined in the kitchenette area or on the patio (only used the formal dining room for doing a 1000 piece jigsaw puzzle). The bedrooms, especially the master bedroom, were very comfortable. My four grandchildren had a ball sleeping in the room with bunk beds. The owners, Steve and Deb, were accessible by phone and e-mail and easy to work with. My spouse and I along with our two daughters, their husbands and children from age 7 months to 9 years spent a week in this beautiful residence. Pictures can only show so much and reality was better in this case. Well designed, well decorated and well finished with everything inside you need for your stay. Beautiful lawn in front with nice landscaping at the back with a nice big patio and mature tree that offer shaded areas. Beaches are all located within a 15 minutes walk and supermarket within 20 minutes walk. Hyannis is about 20 minutes by car where you can take the ferry to Nantucket and Martha,s vineyard.
