Booked a golf trip for a group of 12. We all enjoyed staying here. My only regret was not booking an extra day to experience some of the amenities and get on the lake.

We chose to stay at this property because we have family that we were visiting that lives nearby, and I’m so thankful we did. This property was perfect for our family - it had just the right amount of space. There were so many games and activities in the basement that kept us all (especially my five year old son) entertained. Our favorite part of this house was the screened in porch, which was where we spent the bulk of our time soaking up lake views, even when it was rainy.
The property was also very clean and our host Bill was very responsive throughout the process. We are already planning on coming back - next time for a longer stay 😊

I stayed with my three children and family at this lakeside dream home this August and found the home cozy, clean, and exactly as expected. There’s ample room around the dinner table for larger gatherings, and the kayaks and life preservers allowed for the perfect outings along the pristine, peaceful lake community. 4.5 stars if considering that there is no air conditioning and we stayed at a hotter time.

Stayed at this property for a weekend with friends. Property is exactly as described, it’s a beautiful clean, spacious home with all things you would enjoy in your own home. There’s really no need to leave which we did not. The communication prior to arrival was quick and responsive. A couple of friends said they wanted to look into booking for their own families, we enjoyed it that much. Would definitely book again!

We had a wonderful weekend at the Downs house on the lake! Bill was always avail for questions and provided us with up to date info. It snowed so we had a beautiful backdrop for the lake house and the kids loved the sledding hill. The house was beautiful, so warm and inviting and had everything you needed to enjoy your stay, We would love to come back in the summer!

We just finished our fantastic New Years getaway here and loved every minute of it! The house is beautifully set up with enough space for all enjoy their time. The kids loved the basement with their own TV set up and hours of game playing on the ping pong and pool tables! The pictures don't do the house enough justice of how nice it really is! Everything is updated and the host was amazing with having it stocked with all the little things you could use. Any questions for the host were answered immediately and the whole process was super easy. Would love going back in the summer time to enjoy the lake activities and sunsets on the screened in porch.

This is our second stay in this house. We had a great time staying at Bill's place again. House was clean with all essentials in order. Great lower level for kids/teens, with table tennis, air hockey, pool and foosball table. Definitely recommend the place if you are planning a trip to Pennsylvania for skiing or the lake life. The community center also has swimming pool and indoor basketball and squash ball you can play. Perfect house for multiple families together

We really felt at home. The home was nicely decorated, spacious and clean. My kids loved the basement games and kept them busy. Really wish we could have stayed longer to take advantage of the pool in the clubhouse and rent a pontoon boat. The home has no AC but that wasn't an issue when we were there because it was cool outside. We would highly recommend this home. Thank you Bill for sharing your beautiful home with us.

Perfectly lovely home! Only a few steps into house for elderly mom. 2 comfy Beds and 1 bath on main level. Walk in showers no tubs. Yay. Lots of room upstairs and down when other family joined. Mostly enjoyed sitting on porch. Great place for the active young if you have then. Something for everyone.

This beautiful property had everything we needed for a fun weekend on the lake. We had so much fun kayaking, canoeing, and paddle boarding. Such easy access to the lake. Both the kids and adults also enjoyed the foosball table and air hockey table. We were able to easily keep the kids entertained in doors when we weren't adventuring outdoors.
The kitchen was also well stocked. They even had a griddle which made breakfast so much easier. And a huge table that easily fit all of us.
The house was clean and well maintained. My only complaint would be the heat the first half of our stay due to it being humid and in the 90s. The house would not cool off. However, the 80 degree days were beautiful and the house stayed cool enough without AC. This didn't effect my rating because we knew ahead of time there was no AC. It was unfortunately we came during a heat wave the first few days, otherwise the house stays cool enough without AC.
We would definitely stay here again. Even with the heat it was an amazing stay.

This was our 3rd year renting this beautiful mountain home from The Downs’ The home is beautifully decorated enhancing the whole mountain vibe. We love having lake access with kayaks and canoes available for use. The grandkids loved having the game room to play in during down time. This truly is an awesome home to rent for enjoying some outdoor adventures!

Idyllic Family Retreat
This retreat in the Poconos is the ideal spot for a multi-generational getaway!
We chose the location as a midway point between DC and Central NY for the eight of us and were pleasantly surprised by the space and amenities. The spacious kitchen has room enough for the whole crew to help with breakfast prep. We were spoiled by the secluded waterfront, ample canoes, and the fire pit and our grandson made a game of finding all the hidden bears in the decor.
Thanks Bill for all your help in booking and allowing us to add a day. The kids are already asking when we can go back!

Loved our stay!
We loved our time at this cabin! It is beautifully decorated, clean, and so warm and welcoming. We cooked all of our meals and found the kitchen to be well stocked with everything we needed. There was plenty of room for our family of 9. Loved playing games, spending time around the firepit, and sitting on the screened-in porch watching the deer. We especially enjoyed the kayaks and paddleboard on the lake. Was such a relaxing weekend, wish we had stayed longer! Communication with the owner was great and everything was smooth and easy. Wonderful week at the lake!
This house is homey, but roomy. It was perfect for our party of 9 (2 families). The teenagers enjoyed the basement as their own, and the screen deck out back is perfect for reading with coffee in the morning and drinks in the evening. All the amenities were enjoyed, especially ping pong, the kayaks and paddle board, and we took in the local activities like river rafting, hiking, and golf. Beautiful, well-kept home with signs and instructions for everything. It was so much fun.

A fantastic place in the Poconos
This property was wonderful. It was the site of our first post-pandemic family reunion, and it was perfect for our needs. Whether chatting in the screened in porch, lounging around the firepit, exploring the peaceful lake by canoe/kayak/paddleboard, or simply relaxing in a well-adorned house, we were constantly entertained and comfortable.
Bill was an excellent communicator and was accommodated our needs very well. We are grateful his family shared their home with ours, and hope to be back one day!

We rented this home for a short vacation and accommodation for a wedding that we were all attending. Our family had a wonderful time in this beautiful home. The home was perfectly situated in nature with lake access and absolutely beautiful on the inside. We enjoyed our stay with everything the home had to offer inside and out. Large dining table for family dinners, screened porch for coffee and cocktails, game room and all the games for our rainy day, kayaks and more. Could not have found a better spot. Perfect family retreat!
What an amazing place! We were looking for a midway meeting place between NY and MD to finally get together for some long awaited quality family time and found the perfect location! The pictures just do not do this house justice. The view of the lake from the kitchen, sitting on the couch and walking out of the upstairs bedroom I think I will miss the most. It was absolutely beautiful and peaceful! We got a little snow one day and then were able to go out on the canoes 2 days later. We cooked hot dogs over the firepit, played air hockey, Foosball, pool, ping pong and board games. We truly enjoyed ever bit this house had to offer! The only thing we missed out on was the community indoor pool because they had an emergency draining...maybe next time. Bill was a great host and answered all our questions quickly. Before we left my kids were asking when we were going again. I would definitely recommend this place and can't wait to go back.

This house is gorgeous, the pics on the website really don’t show it all. Great space plenty of room for the kids and lots to do even at the house. Games, pool/air hockey table, plenty of TVs and the view of the woods and lake is fantastic!

Amazing location, property was nice and clean. Owner was very responsive and patiently addressed all our queries and questions throughout the stay. There is a great sledding hill across the street we enjoyed a lot with our friends and family on that hill. Overall great experience!!!

lake in our backyard
We had a fantastic autumn stay to enjoy the lake and foliage. We were a group of 4 adults (including 2 seniors) and 3 kids ages 6-10. Plenty of room to sleep everyone comfortably, and the house was very well-appointed with everything you might need. The house was beautifully decorated for the season, and we all enjoyed the foosball and air hockey in the game room. Of course the best thing about the property is the lake in the backyard -- we spent a lot of time out there just enjoying the views, serenity, and the swans and ducks that came by to say hi everyday. And smores by the firepit! The house is about 15 min away from Nescopeck State Park with some lovely picturesque trails that we enjoyed during our trip. We had a great time. Thanks Bill and Terry!

Relaxing Getaway
Highly recommend this mountain home. The location was excellent and it also had a lot of ammenities. We enjoyed the kayaks and beach during the day and the firepit and game room at night. We also enjoyed relaxing in the screened in porch. The house was very clean and the kitchen was well equipped. Definitely would stay again!

Great location and great amenities.
Normally my family and I go to Canada each year for a week of fishing and swimming. This year we couldn’t because of COVID. We were lucky to get this unit on short notice. Owner was always available to answer our questions beforehand. Once there, we fell in love with the place. Lake and beech are a short walk down a well groomed path. Grandkids loved the swimming and kayaking. House was wonderful with all the amenities you could want. Kids really liked the playroom with air hockey and a pool table. WiFi and phone reception were very good. Having a washer and dryer reduced the amount of clothes we needed to bring. If you are looking for a relaxing getaway- this is your place.

Wonderful getaway
We really enjoyed the peace and quiet, and staying in such a nice house. Taking the kayaks and paddle-board out on the lake was so much fun. It felt like we had the whole lake to ourselves. It was wonderfully relaxing and a great opportunity to spend time together. We would definitely stay there again!

Peace and tranquility
This home was excellent. Decor was warm and inviting. Walk to the private beach was so inviting. My husband, adult children and my grandchildren loved the use of the kayaks and early morning paddle boarding was enjoyed by our son. Everyone loved the layout and so private for each family to have their own level for bed rooms and bath - kitchen was very well equipped. Overall great house and very attentive host whenever I had questions. The use of the community beach was perfect for a day if swimming all together.

The Quintessential Lake House!
My husband, two teenage sons, and I rented this house for 4 days and wished we could stay for more. It is a beautifully "appointed" property with lake house charm but it also has a lot of space to spread out for quiet naps on the loft futon or book-reading in the screened-in porch. We also enjoyed using their game room in the basement and walking down to the lake and using the canoe and kayaks to tool around and fish. We absolutely loved it. We hope to make it there again soon!
