It’s a lovely property, but not for the faint of heart! First be aware that if you haven’t driven in the mountains you might be a little freaked out by the turns in the road to reach the property - arriving in the dark definitely raised my blood pressure. Obviously not the owner’s fault! Twice during our stay there was a bear on the front deck of the main floor. Be very careful about locking your cars and not leaving anything out.
It would have been nice if the two main floor bedrooms would have had a small dresser for clothes storage.
The view is breathtaking!

House was great. View was outstanding. Fully stocked kitchen. Game room and kids bedrooms were very kid friendly. 3 other bedrooms were nice. The loft queen bed was utilized. Massive porch with great views. Hot tub utilized with plenty of towels. Close family could sleep 15-16 people. 8 kids in game room/bedroom area. The community pool/tennis/pickleball/basketball was enjoyed by all. gated community gave a secure feeling. Parking sufficient for 4-5 cars with turnaround for easier exit. Not sure we could find anything better. Would rent again in a heartbeat.

We have stayed with Cathy every January for 12 years and have never been disappointed. This year the snow storm came 2 days after our arrival. Cathy made sure we had absolutely everything we needed just in case. She went above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable. This cabin is roomy, beautiful and such a well thought out space. It’s is clean and fully stocked. Don’t hesitate to book. It’s everything and more! Thank you Cathy for a wonderful vacation!

We had a lovely time at this place. It’s cozy and beautiful and comfortably slept three families. There were a few things lacking, such as no kitchen towels, available, which made it hard to hand, wash our breakfast dishes in the morning and put them away in order to leave by checkout time, as was the requirement. Having to get all dishes washed and put away and all beach towels washed and put back felt like something the cleaning service should do that we’re paying for as part of the rental fee. Other than those things, it was a lovely place to stay!

Our overall experience at "Can't Bear To Leave" was a delight. For the second time, we felt at home and enjoyed the beautiful view, weather and superb accomodations. We plan to return for a Christmas Cabin getway in December.One matter we felt you needed to be aware of. The bed linens in one bedroom on the main floor had not been laundered very well. There was stain and body hair on the fitted sheet. Those assigned to the room simply removed them, washed them, and exchanged them with the bedding in the loft area. We know you are very attentive to your property and it's care, so we felt it was right to make you aware.

House was clean and looked even better then pictures. House was was spacious and perfect for my group of 10 people. Also a great house for families. We had kids of all ages who enjoyed the house very much. Everything was accommodating besides a few minor hiccups. Housekeeper Left cleaning supplies out, wifi went out last day, bbq pit wasn’t working and refrigerator took forever to get cold.

Our family had a wonderful time at the cabin. It was about a 30 min drive into Pigeon Forge. The cabin owner had many supplies available in the cabin...lots of towels, wash clothes, kitchen supplies, laundry detergent, etc. We loved it!!!!!

Can’t Bear To Leave was so beautiful and huge! It was perfect for our multiple family vacation with plenty of space for everyone to sleep comfortably and hang out. The amenities were unbelievable, too, from beach towels to laundry detergent/dryer sheets, sunscreen, etc. We really didn’t need to bring all the extras like we did. We had 6 vehicles of all sizes, and there was plenty of parking space and still room for more. We had “guests” (bears) visit us during our stay in the mornings which we were hoping to see! The kitchen has plenty of seating between the kitchen table and the island. We never had any issues of having to wait for others to take showers or use the bathroom since the cabin has 3 full bathrooms, one on each level. I just can’t say enough about this property. ❤️ and miss it so much. Cathy and her staff were very helpful and so nice at all times. I highly recommend Cathy and the Shagbark Community! If you don’t have a 4 wheel drive vehicle, you will make it up the mountain. Can’t Bear To Leave is the perfect name for this place bc I just couldn’t bear to leave and even shed a tear or two as I left! I cannot say enough about this beautiful place. The views are amazing, too.

Second year in a row staying in this great cabin. Everything was just wonderful. Being responsible for a youth group of teenagers, we felt very safe knowing that there is a guard on duty at the gated entrance. We hope to be able to stay here again next year!

Great location and cabin had everything we needed. Communication was good. Only problems we incountered were, the washer did not work correctly, it took 5 hours to wash the beach towels you are required to wash if you use the hot tube (no problem with washing them just wish it would have been easier) and the second problem was one of the bedrooms on the main floor had been peed on at somepoint prior, there was a matress cover on the bed but you could still smell it.

We loved our stay at Can’t Bear to Leave. We were there for Christmas and had all the pots, pans, and dishes we needed for a traditional Christmas dinner for 11. The teens loved the game room with the pool table, foosball and air hockey. And having there own space downstairs. Hot tub was great even in the freezing weather. The only downside is one night the roads were icy and slushy after some snow and we were advised not to drive them so we had to stay in town. If I come back in winter I’ll get a 4-wheel drive car. Property manager answered text or phone calls promptly. Overall great rental.

Our family of 11 looked forward to this for months. Our grandchildren visited the virtual tour numerous times which only made their anticipation grow! We were not disappointed. The children ran in going from level to level, room to room, around the deck, and looking from the loft. The game room was a hit. The adults enjoyed a full day of SEC football and the soccer championships. The ladies did some shopping but the best was the comfortable surrounding at the cabin. We hope to make it a tradition! The beds were very comfortable and the entire cabin was stocked over the top! We had all we needed and then some. Thank you for taking such good care of your property.

Our cabin was beautiful and was perfect for our family. We had so much fun, even when the bears came around was exciting until on 2 different days one decided to get inside one of our vehicles. We loved being up on the hill to ourselves, the only problem we had was we went a whole dad and a half without water that wasn’t good especially having 6 kids 7 and under, and we only got our garbage picked up once the whole week. They were nice enough to come out on a Sunday to try and fix the water but had to have someone come out the next day to get it working. Overall it was an amazing vacation.

This cabin was awesome! It has the best views of the mountains! Our whole family had the best time....lots of fun and laughter and making memories together. The cabin had the best amenities. We even saw a momma bear with 3 cubs 3 different times...what a treat! The cabin was clean and well stocked. The host was very attentive and welcomed us with a goody basket. She even provided a baby gate and high chair for my grand daughter. We absolutely loved it!

We loved the property. Usually cabins can seem a bit outdated but this one was very updated and clean. Lots of cooking utensils for our meal preparation which we appreciated! Loved the downstairs zone for the teenagers and kids to have a place to get away to. Would rent again.

This was all that we could have asked for in a family vacation.
The cabin suited the needs of 13 family members from 8yrs to 66 years. The kids loved the air hockey and basement space. There was space to gather together as well as separate out if it became too peopley. The fully equipped kitchen made family meals so easy. We had group breakfasts and suppers at the cabin and lunches while out enjoying the sights.
One tip:
Plan your menu in advance and put in an order to pick up your groceries at the Walmart in Sevierville for the day you arrive. The last day was leftover day to clear out the fridge.
We could not have asked for a better experience.
The memories made will last a lifetime!
And yes, we couldn’t bear to leave!
