We enjoyed our stay at this property. The house was in a great location, within easy walking distance to the water and coastline. The house was clean, impeccably organized, and maintained. However, given the high price of the rental, we were frustrated that we had to make beds, clean sheets and towels and have everything folded and back in a closet before an 11:00 check put time. In addition, there are no dressers, luggage stands or any place (other than the flood) to put the luggage. A folding luggage stand in each room would be a welcome and easy fix.

We loved our time in York. Ed was such a great host and made the process very painless. The house was just as advertised, and Long Sands exceeded our expectations. It is difficult to find a vacation that pleases both the forty something parents, the teens, the preteens and the littles, but this house did it. We had a great week and are so thankful for the memories.

We were in town for a family wedding and there were 6 of us staying in the house, all adults and older teens. The house was clean and a good size for our group. 4 of the beds are bunk beds though, so might work best for a family with some younger kids. Having multiple bathrooms was great for getting ready, the kitchen is really big and roomy and it was stocked with everything you would need to cook. Communication with the hosts was great during the entire process. Also close to the beach if you go in the warmer months and not far from the Nubble Lighthouse. I would definitely recommend!

It was plenty big for all of us. The location could not be beat- we walked to Long Sands beach almost every day which made it easy with all of the kids. The owner, Ed, was communicative and friendly especially with the increased questions due to the pandemic regulations. One helpful piece of information would be that there is only one AC window unit on each floor. We were there for 3 extremely hot days. The downstairs unit cooled the first floor pretty well. The upstairs was in one bedroom which made it harder to circulate the air through the other bedrooms. An additional window unit would have made it more comfortable for the others, especially the kids in the double bunk bed room, to sleep. Despite that, we would absolutely rent this house again! It was a great property and we really enjoyed our stay! Thank you Ed!

Everything was as listed. Great property, close to beach. Enjoyed the surfing and local area attractions.

This property was perfect for our family of ten. Having the bedrooms upstairs away from evening adult noise helped the little ones sleep well. The kitchen was adequately appointed with everything that you could want. Plenty of disposable paper goods were supplied. A wonderful beverage cooler was located on the lowest level allowing the refrigerator to be used mainly for food items. The bedrooms were nicely sized, ceiling fans helped keep us cool and the beds were very comfortable. Great Weber grill was on the deck for easy access to the kitchen and it was very clean. Plenty of parking was available and the short walk to the beach allowed us to skip the dreaded search for expensive parking spots. We hope to rent this property again in the future, it was everything we had hoped for in a vacation home destination .

We rented this property for my family and my daughter's bridesmaids to get ready for her wedding. We were so pleased with how clean and new everything was. The property is well kept and supplied with everything you could imagine. They let us store our mustang in the super clean garage which my husband used to transport the bride to Nubble Light for her "First Look". The garage kept the car clean and free of dust and dirt. Ed and Cindy were so sensitive to our needs that they put a full length mirror in the master bedroom for the bride to use. We also spent Saturday, the day after the wedding, on the beach and this rental had plenty of brand new chairs for us to use! Mind you everything is either new or in excellent condition! I can go on and on about how perfect this rental and the owners are but maybe you should check it out for yourself. Love, love, loved this property! Ginger & Steve

Beautiful home in a nice neighborhood. Short walk to the beach. The house was very spacious, really nice deck to enjoy outside with plenty of room for 10. Ed was very accommodating and responsive - we had no issues with the home at all. 10/10 - would recommend or come back!

Large home, wide open spaces and very clean. Owners very nice and extremely responsive. Large out door deck with grill and lovely well kept yard. Families with small children will appreciate the dead end street and large front and back yard. There is also plenty of parking. Kitchen had everything you could possibly need; serving platters, wine glasses, large pots and pans, in addition to all the essentials. Open floor plan in kitchen allows great gathering place for entertaining and relaxing and the living room opens right into the kitchen. Plenty of beds, and the two and a half bathrooms were immaculate. Close to beach. Many wonderful restaurants within a reasonable distance and a short ride to Kittery outlets. Although linen policy was located on site under general information the seven people in our group who reviewed didn't notice it, as we had stayed at many VRBOs and this is not the typical practice. When it was noticed on the contract and we asked Ed about it he was very nice and did say we should not to be too concerned if linens were not all completely washed before leaving. On the day of departure we got up early to strip beds and tried to get as much done as possible. We were also surprised we had to put the linens on the bed when we arrived. This should not deter anyone from staying here - I add this for informational / planning purposes so folks can plan their time, the day of arrival to make beds and the day of departure to start laundry process.

This house had everything we needed! Everything was perfect. Owner is very responsive and easy to work with. A nice deck lots of space to hang out fire pit.. I could go on but everything was amazing! *the only thing the house didn’t have was a full length mirror - we had 11 girls I. The house - that was the only thing missing! This house is most definitely five star worthy!

We had a great time. Place is very nice, clean, and pretty. Owners are very responsive and kind. Only thing is I wish on the site, before we got the contract, it said rules for linens. We didn’t realize we should bring our own or wash them until we got the contract. Was not a huge deal, but did add to planning/ packing for the trip that was unexpected.

The owner was great! Very responsive and helpful prior to and throughout our stay. The house was very well stocked, in a perfect location, and extremely clean. It had all the amenities of home. The bedrooms and living space were large and very comfortable for our two families sharing the house for a local soccer tournament over Columbus Day weekend. We had a great time!

Since the moment I booked this place Ed was easy to work with and responded quickly to all emails. We had 6 adults and 1 six year old and the house had plenty of room. We will be booking again when we go back to York.

We rented this house for our extended family when our daughter got married close to York. It is a very nice property that was a perfect place for our family. The kitchen is very nice and well equipped and spacious enough to feed a small crowd of people. We grilled burgers one evening on the large deck while the kids played bocce ball on the lawn. The house had literally everything we needed to make our stay comfortable and stress free. And the best thing about this property was how gracious and responsive the homeowner was every step of the process. He replied to every message almost immediately and was so kind and helpful. We fell in love with Maine and would love to have the opportunity to return when we have time to leisurely explore the quaint towns and beautiful countryside. And we wouldn't hesitate to rent this property again because it was such a wonderful experience for our family.

We have stayed at this property for the past 3 years. It is a great location. You can walk to Long Sands and also walk to the trolley that takes you to Short Sands Beach. The house is always very clean and in great condition. The outdoor shower is the best feature of the house if you are traveling wtih children. They also enjoy the firepit in the yard. The owners are on top of things and get back to you quickly with any questions or concerns. I would absolutely recommend this property to friends and family.

The open, modern, fully-furnished, great-room kitchen includes wood floors, a huge island, granite countertops throughout, stainless appliances, a trash compactor, and a solid wood farm table to seat at least eight. The family room boasts wood flooring, two teal leather sofas, coffee and end tables, and a large flat screen TV, and all rooms are decorated with Maine inspired quote boxes and pictures. There’s an enormously spacious walk-in pantry and a walk-in closet that holds all the essentials: ironing board, high chair, cleaning utensils. The upstairs bedrooms? Wonderful! All are carpeted and beautifully decorated. The master bedroom is the size of a ballroom with a king-size bed, full bath and walk-in closet, and a baby crib. The second bedroom comes complete with a queen sized bed, 2 side tables, and a large closet. The third bedroom has two bunk beds, with the lower beds double sized, a large closet, and a night table. There’s a full bathroom upstairs to be shared, and a large single bathroom on the main level. All rooms come stocked with towels and bedding, all cleaning supplies, laundry supplies, and paper products. Speaking of laundry supplies, there’s a heavy-duty washer and dryer combo off of the garage as you enter into the house. There’s absolutely no comfort left out of this home! The home owner is wonderful to plan with. His rental process is streamlined and clearly organized and described in digital documents, and these are also printed out and stored in a binder at the house for his guests to refer to. There are oodles of places to visit in and around York Beach, and many of these are noted in a binder in details and in brochures. From the local town, to a trip to the harbor in York, to a trip down to the outlets in Kittery, to the quaint shops in Ogonquit and a walk on the Marginal Way, there’s something for everyone. A whale watch or fishing trip out of Perkins Cove in Ogonquit is a trip to remember! And don’t forget to head to Brown’s Ice Cream near Nubble Lighthouse for the best in town! Part 1: Meeting Ed and the House Home Away from Home York Beach, Maine is our family’s traditional vacation destination. My husband and I took a trip up the east coast when we were first married, and quickly realized that this was the place for us to be. Initially, we stayed at The Anchorage Inn resort on Long Sands Beach then, as our family grew, we graduated to renting a house near to Short Sands Beach for many years. With the addition of children, we made the move from packing up the car to head to Long Sands Beach each day, and instead rented a lovely place a walk’s away from the beach. Spring of 2012 brought us to “our new home,” the one we’ve decided will be our “forever” summer vacation home. It was the weekend our youngest son was graduating from the University of New Hampshire and we had made reservations to stay at The Anchorage Inn resort. Our oldest son was searching summer real estate in York Beach and came across a brand new listing for a home on Eastern Avenue, so off we went to see where this gorgeous, in-construction, not-quite-ready home was located. A short block’s walk from Long Sands Beach and a turn off into a gently curving road, there was THE HOUSE set on a semi-secluded private lot: classic Maine styled; light cedar siding with shingled roof; three stories including the lowest level complete with a double-bay, oversized garage; windows wrapping all around the main level; outside stairs leading up to a deck; a side yard with a fire pit under an established tree. SO INVITING! So, we parked in the driveway, got out, walked around, and… imagine our “OH NO!” as we heard the sound of a car pulling into the stone driveway. There we were on the upper deck, scrambling to head down the stairs. Ed – as we grew to know him – was there in the driveway, greeting us with a smile and a handshake as we babbled out our apologies at being on his property. What a guy! Ed welcomed us to take our shoes off and take a tour of the house while he unpacked the Adirondack lawn chairs that would decorate the yard and upper deck. We knew we had found the home that was to be our home-away-from-home, and it’s where we’re going to be living this coming summer 2015 for the third consecutive year. Stay tuned for Part 2: The House

Two years ago my wife and I were searching for a beach vacation home to rent with our two grandsons (ages 2 and 4) and their parents. In our search we discovered, while still under construction, Cindy and Ed's fabulous home on a secluded lot about a 5 minute walk to Long Sands Beach ( perfect for children- beach combing and tidal pools). This will be our third year vacationing in this spacious home with a massive master bedroom, three bathrooms, huge deck, fire pit and laundry facilities. The outdoor shower is a treat for all ages and the ducklings that inhabit the thicket adjacent to the side lawn are entertainment for our grandchildren. Finally, Cindy and Ed really take pride in providing a family friendly comfortable home where lasting memories of our week at the beach are being formed.
