Professional from beginning to end, the food (as a vegetarian) was awesome and so much of it. We were lucky to be on the smaller Mon Cherie number 1. The people staying were great too. Shoutout to the manager Lisa/Chang and the waiter John/Dong (I think) who were brilliant. But all staff were fantastic. Luxury cabins and it was special. We stayed two nights in an Elegance room (room307 was very private).

I know some people have said there aren't enough activities - for us we were happy chilling on the amazing boat so didn't do the activities - maybe not have the announcements in the room and make it easier to let staff know if you want to do brunch and miss breakfast - more flexibility around breakfast. The checking in could be more efficient but wasn't an issue. Some reviews have said there are two many cruise ships on the bay - there are a lot but honestly I hardly noticed them.

AMAZING. Everything was perfect. We had such a great time. Mr. Windy was really helpful & attentive to us all through our stay. He was always there just when we needed anything- He went the extra mile to make us have an amazing trip. I would only do the Mon Cheri cruise If we go again. The only regret we have is not staying 2 nights. We recommend 2 nights atleast. We had only one night and did-not want to leave. The FOOD IS DELICIOUS & EXCELLENT QUALITY. Kayaking was so much fun. Cooking class was really informative. THANKYOU.

El camarote era increíble. Toda la pared de la habitación era una cristalera con unas vistas alucinantes. Incluso la pared del baño era así, lo que ofrecía la posibilidad de ducharte con unas vistas espectaculares. Todo en el camarote estaba muy bien cuidado, las camas eran cómodas...El servicio fue excelente. El personal es muy amable, atento y servicial, al igual que el personal del restaurante. Te sientes muy acogido. Estuvimos 2 noches y la verdad es que lo recomiendo para sacarle el máximo provecho y tener tiempo a relajarse y desconectar de verdad. Las excursiones que ofrecen están bastante bien. La comida está muy muy rica. Mucha variedad y cantidad. Hay opciones para todos los gustos.

Nuestro camarote era el número 209 y era muy ruidoso porque estaba pegado a la sala de máquinas. Constantemente se escuchaban golpes secos y metálicos procedentes de esta sala, incluso por la noche. Recomiendo evitar los camarotes 9 y 10 precisamente por este motivo.

we booked a trip on the cruise because we saw the nice pictures on booking.com and were very disappointed when we reached the cruise. It’s definitely not a five start cruise when you have a look at the facilities. Still the floors in some areas and the rooms looked very used. Also the little boat transporter and the mold swim wests are really a shame. The room pictures and room size on booking were wrong.. also please note that there are two cruises so not all pictures are from the same cruise. For this price, very very unsatisfying we mentioned this to the assistant manger and she was very understanding and kind and gave us 50$ discount, which we appreciated. Still wont recommend it until they have some renovation or adjust at least their pictures on booking.com

The whole experience was so wonderful. Great food, friendly and high quality service, interesting outings and cultural experience, small ship (around 30 to 40 passengers), fantastic views. Chang was our cruise director and she was lots of fun and also well organized. Harry took care of us at meal times and was attentive just the right amount and Cong lead our day outing and was an absolute rockstar.

We wished we could stay longer.

This cruise was amazing ! Five star luxury . Anne was amazing she was so friendly and kind. She really looked after us during our stay and even took the time to learn everyone's names personally. The rooms were beautiful with big open balcony and giant comfy beds. I would recommend doing two nights because the day trip on the 2nd day was so fun . The food was amazing. We got at least five courses every night and it was fantastic quality. Another shout out to ducky ryann and Jimmy who all made our stay amazing. The lady who made the spring rolls with short hair was also great but I can't remember her name ! Thank you mon cheri staff. You all work tirelessly to make our experience. This was one of the best experiences we have had in Vietnam.

The boat quality and comfort is amazing. The jacuzzi pool on top makes the boat really outstanding compared with other ones. The rooms with shower and bathtub by the window feel like a luxury hotel. The food is great though lacking some choices at breakfast. Overall a nice but very pricey cruise (especially when adding the transfer from Hanoi) with regards to the very few proposed activities.

The cave visit on the second day has nothing much special, you'll spend an hour or more in shuttle boat and bus transits for a 10min cave walk-through on a narrow concrete path. Too bad the village's visit is only planned for the 3 days 2 nights cruise. The kayaking in the bay is nice though there are many other cruise boats nearby with many kayak on sea.

Everything. Jasmine, Tam, Andy the super barman, and Ryanne our server made our trip exceptional. The food was amazing. We didn’t want to leave! The rooms were spotless and very well appointed. Loved the balcony.

El crucero en sí es una pasada. Nosotras contratamos una noche y dos días, y al final acabamos ampliando. Nos parecio de las mejores experiencias del viaje. Destacar que hace una ruta alternativa al que suelen coger el resto de cruceros por la bahía, por lo que raramente coincides con otros barcos en la traversía. Las excursiones que haces con ellos son magnificas. El personal es encantandor y atento. La habitación fue insuperable

Great cruise. They catered exceptionally well for a vegan, and gluten free diet. Food just kept arriving and it all tasted great. Happy hour was great value for money and the excursions were all included in the price which made this great value for money. Rooms were spacious too. Staff very friendly. Such a highlight of our trip to Vietnam. What a spectacular and mesmerising place to see. Would highly recommend.

The boat itself is amazing. It is new and very clean. We had a family room which was very spacious. The staff are friendly.

We didn’t cruise very far at all. I took photos the whole cruise and my photo map shows that we didn’t even go to Halong Bay and Lan Ha bay so I don’t know if the scenery is best in those locations. We mostly just hang around the other tourist boats and spent lots of time at anchor. See high level photo map attached. I feel a little bit ripped off about this, there was no mention that we wouldn’t travel the full route and our itinerary said we would do both Lan Ha and Halong. The bay itself is full of garbage. Google “pacific garbage patch” and this is what you can expect from a Halong Bay cruise. The staff tried to fob off the rubbish situation by saying that some cruise boats try to pick up rubbish with the tender boats but I saw no evidence of this and frankly it needs government intervention to regulate both the cruise and fishing industries. After noting the above negatives, I still rated it a 7 because the boat is great and staff did their best to look after us. The limestone karsts are also quite amazing as is the view. I don’t blame Mon Cheri for the state of the waterway but other people do need to be made aware as it is disgusting and the only way it will be fixed is if tourists raise awareness (or stop paying to come here).

The boat was nice. We booked the presidential suite which had amazing views, lots of space and was comfy. Food was decent for boat food. Staff were very good. We enjoyed our stay despite the below.... wish we could have had more time just chilling on the main boat.

The day trip was a waste of time. We paid for an expensive boat and room, then got put on a crap uncomfortable boat for the day. We didn't get to see really any of cat ba island. Didn't even get to walk up the street. The 'swim' at the beach was terrible... other boats took their patrons to the shore... ours made people swim to shore which meant people who felt uncomfortable in deep water couldn't go. Wish we stayed on the boat. The water is so polluted it really dampens the experience the water is full of rubbish and foam boxes for miles.... it's really sad and hard to look past. Tour operators are trying to clean it up... but there is soooo much it's hard to see how they can do it. The pool/lounge chairs could be improved they weren't comfortable at all.
