Iconic location with a picture postcard view onto the lake. Lakeview terrace for cocktails, with flowering vines/ shade pergola made for a pretty scene, relaxed and atmospheric. Pool was a rare find in Varenna. Bed linen was clean, crisp and pristine; bath towels also perfect and smelled great! Bed was firm(appreciated) and we slept well. Quiet. Good toiletries, fully equipped bathroom with a nice big shower. Happy to lounge in the bath robes & slippers provided and sit on the balcony admiring the lake…. complete with elegant swans swimming by. Relaxing lakeside was exactly what we came for and was the highlight for us. The complimentary little electric shuttle bus to the train station was excellent and saved us dragging luggage through town over cobbled streets in crazy hot weather. Did not dine in the restaurant but their cappuccino coffees were excellent. Fresh baked goods available around the corner from the hotel.

The decor of the guest room was disappointing; it seemed to belong more to a generic economy hotel… with vinyl chairs, mass-produced laminate furnishings. Dated, dark. The exterior spaces are definitely better. I work in architecture & design so this was especially disappointing for me. The room itself lacked a sense of the romantic, historic Lake Como personality, but open the balcony doors and THEN you know where you are. Without a lake view room we would have been very unhappy.

The location in Varenna was stunning. The view and hotel in general was beautiful. The staff were lovely. Our room was large with a balcony overlooking the lake. It was really special.

I am being picky here as the hotel in general was amazing. The air conditioner in our room was really noisy and inefficient. If was hot while we were there which meant sleeping with it on was not comfortable.

the staff were very friendly and helpful, the hotel itself was a beautiful location with excellent facilities- especially the pool. breakfast was very good - a wide range of choices and options.

Very well situated in the city center, next to the cathedral. Nice restaurant with the lake view. Amazing jasmine wall at the bar area next to the swimming pool!

room size, view and location all really good

staff cannot be bothered with any questions, dont really offer help and when we arrived late (late is 9pm in varenna) and wanted something to eat they emphasised we cannot have from them and they dont know wher we can eat. this lack of help happened several times when enquiring about shuttle etc (ie reply was ‘check again at 7am’) lastly, despite booking a suite, aircon makes an awful noise every 5 minutes…for the whole trip
