The restaurant and bar are such an asset in this beautiful building. You don’t want to leave the building for food or drinks, because it’s just so well done. Best place in Barrow to stay!
We were on the ground floor. Would be nice to have a view from the windows though. Although you look at traffic, it would feel less locked in

The room was beautiful, a good size, comfortable bed and roll top bath in the bathroom. It felt very luxurious. The staff were very friendly and helpful and the food was delicious.

This hotel was ideal for our one night stay. Excellent location by the train station, a small Tesco and cafes. Staff were helpful. Room was clean and of reasonable size, bed comfortable and we had a good sleep. Bathroom was clean with decent toiletries.

Staff were friendly, the bar had a good atmosphere. The room was nice and tidy. Bed was a very good size.
The bathroom extractor fan did not work.

The room big and a huge bathroom.
I didn’t like the town, very dirty , the room are not clean enough, breakfast poor, but very tasty the cooked breakfast, the lady how served us nice!

Quality of products and materials/textiles in the room. Plenty of tea,coffee etc.
Speed of lift. Pricy breakfast which I therefore decided to miss.

All Staff were very helpful and curtious throughout our stay nothing was too much trouble went above and beyond to both welcome and gave excellent service and all very friendly at all times

Beautiful property! rooms very clean and spacious! Staff were all lovely and very helpful, food was also beautiful. Would definitely recommend!

The room was spacious, heating was spot on, sound deadening was great and the bed was comfortable. We'll worth the visit.
The food in the hotel was exceptional! We had a couple of portions of food during our stay and I think even Gordon Ramsey wouldn't be able to pick fault at any of what we had!
The bar staff were great too! We asked for an ice bucket and 2 fizz glasses as we had brought our own champagne for the room and they had no objections to providing these. Some other places we have stayed have raised eyebrows or objected to this.
Top marks for The Duke! Will stay here again!
If I had to nit pick, the bathroom could have done with a spray of mould and mildew remover along the grout and silicone sealant in the bathroom as it was showing signs of black mould patches but nothing excessive that couldn't be cleaned.

Prices for drinks and food expensive this was a factor in us not having breakfast or drinks on our second day

Everything was exemptional. Hotel room beautiful, staff friendly and helpful.
