Excellent location. No need for a taxi. Many restaurant choices very nearby. Quiet despite construction nearby.

It was very clean and there was air-conditioning. The staff were very courteuos.

We had a room on a higher floor where only 1 elevator comes. So avoid room on higher floor. The rooms where clean . Bathroom are small but well stocked. We reached early but had to wait 1 hour more than the check in time for room. There was a person at the reception that was extra helpful. his name was starting with M (mario or something). He was very very helpful. there is coffee on each floor and cold flavored water in the reception. The reception was very friendly in advising on what to do and where to go.

avoid rooms on the highest floor. only 1 elevator goes there.

the hotel is a few steps from the train station. a major plus. there is a major tram stop right accross the street. so getting to down town and old town Zurich is a breeze. The rooms are quiet and AC works very well. the maid staff and front desk are very helpful. the beds are pretty comfortable for Switzerland. we highly recommend this hotel. the second time we stayed here. the breakfast was good and reasonably priced for Zurich.

Fantastic location, just on the backside of the main train station. Esthetic and renovated hotel/room.

Room not quiet. Very high quality windows which blocked very well the noises from the outside (buses, cars, trains). Unfortunately, the room is not quiet at night which made it harder for me to fall asleep. The floor in the corridor is probably made from wood (covered with carpet) and was creaking when someone walked by the corridor and the inside wall as well as the door do not cancel well the creaking noise at night (during the day no prob).

staff were so kind and helpful. they gave us great recommendations and helped us find places. the breakfast was very good with lots of options and the people running it were very nice and kept it clean and food refreshed. rooms were comfortable. so convenient to transportation and walking places.

nothing really to dislike. it is not called Fred hotel on outside - it is Walhalla. so that was a bit confusing at first.

it’s really near the train station and v convenient with big luggages. the tram to city was right outside the hotel as well.

Location, size of the room and staff at the reception. They provided umbrellas which were quite handy during the rainy days.

The lady in the breakfast room room was rude and loud. She gave an expression that she did not want to see you there and wanted to leave the breakfast room as soon as possible. The bed was very uncomfortable. I don’t know why they put two single mattresses on a double bed with a wide gap between them.

Terrific breakfasts, friendly staff, comfortable room, very close to central station, they even stored our extra suitcase for free while we travelled for a month. We've tried a few hotels in this area and now will keep coming back to this one whenever in Zurich. It's not fancy but has everything we need for a short stay.
