the view and location were fantastic. The staff were friendly and helpful on arrival. the apartment is a good size with 2 balconies

the lift was stuck and we had to walk 7 floors. the apartment does not have any staff after 7 so no one to help. The shower was cold, the equipment in the kitchen dated and beds and pillows uncomfortable. the air conditioning did not work

Extremely noisy with some drill tool going of early in the morning. The whole apartment was shaking. There were earplugs waiting for us on every bed at arrival and, we soon understood why. Of course we should have been warned about this beforehand. No windows contributed to a very claustrophobic feeling. Very limited kitchenware.

The best location possible! Simply amazing standing right next to the Duomo! We had a beuatiful balcony in the top flour that had a breath taking view! Could not ask for better!

We loved this Apartment. It was located on the 5th floor, which is a climb, and looks out into the Duomo/Cathedral and the Baptisery. The views are incredible. The apartment is spacious and clean with plenty of light. It was, by far, our favorite on our Italy trip. The apartment is part of an hotel/apartment building with a manned front desk that assists with check-in and check-out. It was pricey in comparison with other options, but, for us, worth the price. All of the tourist attractions are either right next door or close by. The train station is about a 10 minute hike.

The bathrooms are tiny, even for small Italian bathrooms, and clearly require some flexibility and cramping for adults unless you happen to be 5' tall and <100 lbs. If you are an oversized person, good luck trying to shower. Also, the apartment is LOUD given its location. The square is the liveliest location in Florence and you can hear the revelers into the night. If quiet time is important, then you will be better served by getting an apartment just up the street. The distances here are not very great, so a quieter location may still put you only a few minutes away (walking) from the main square.

Fantastic location ..staff could not do enough for us

Our room was quite small for a double only enough wardrobe space for one person ..we had a city view room and the music from the small cafe over the road was horrendous..went on until 3am everynight .the hotel had earplugs on the bedside table which I used every night ..

there were 2 small balcony areas with a table and chairs for each, to enjoy the view of Florence. One was looking directly at the top of the Duomo, so extra special. The staff were at reception from 7 am to 7 pm and were very helpful.

The water pressure in the shower was low but with such an old building, and being on the 7 th floor, it is a small problem.

location is great but it is right in the middle of all action so only quiet time 11 pm to 7.30. Street music and drunk tourist make a lot of noise and wake up to a church bell. We were so tired at night so didn't care about the noise. Our apartment has multiple balconies with beautiful views of the town. The staff is exceptional

The location of the apartment was at the epicentre of Florence. We couldn't have been any more central. It became a bit of a joke that pretty much everywhere we wanted to go was between a one and a fifteen minute walk away. There was an amazing view of the piazza in front of the duomo from our windows. It was wonderful to drink a cup of tea and watch the goings on below. The apartment was large with two bedrooms, two bathrooms and a spacious living/kitchen area with a gorgeous frescoed ceiling. It was spotlessly clean, the beds were comfortable and the showers were great. I have arthritic knees and the apartment was on the fifth floor, but there was a perfectly cute elevator to waft us upwards.

I liked everything!

Many of the reviews mention the excellent location, which is quite true. But just reading the reviews doesn't convey the absolute magic of literally looking out your window at Santa Maria del Fiore 100 feet away, and being within a 10 minute walk of almost everything in Florence. It's just incredible, worth every penny.

Several other reviews mentioned that the pillows and beds were not that comfortable, which we also found to be true. These would be easy upgrades for the property, and they should just pay the (small) price to ensure the complete comfort of guests. But we still believe these are minor issues compared to the absolutely fabulous location, which as I said is still worth every penny.

This is my second stay at Palazzo Gamba and I wouldn’t stay anywhere else in Florence. The staff went above and beyond to assist us with all our needs. Everything about the apartment is outstanding.

Location was AMAZING-right across from Duomo with great views. Our room had a washing machine. the staff was very friendly and helpful. the apartment was huge, with full Kitchen and dishwasher. they also have an elevator which was great because our room was on the 6th floor (8 flights of stairs!)

it was a little noisy in the plaza at night and then the street scrubbing Zambonis start really early—like 5am
