Welcoming staff reception. Room spa you and comfy bed with roomy and well appointed bathroom.
A better feather pillow would be love. Didn’t enjoy the sausages at breakfast and lack of mushrooms. Waited quite a while for a poor fried egg Coffee long queue for one machine

Large bedroom and bathroom, friendly staff, nice bar area where you can eat in a relaxed atmosphere. The food is very good, tasty and nicely prepared with care.
Slightly tired decor.

This is a beautiful hotel, the rooms were very spacious and clean. Breakfast was good with alot of variety. Piers and Kay on reception were very helpful and friendly, they did an excellent job.
We would have appreciated more brewing facilities - tea bags and milk and biscuits would have been nice.

excellent food
long walk to the bedroom ( i’m not well so unimportant to most)

In de booking-omschrijving wordt gesproken over lift en airco. Beide niet aanwezig in het hoofdgebouw. Restaurant met matige menukaart. Personeel wel correct maar niet vriendelijk.

Good staff at Reception. Room was upgraded. Delightful setting with many different spaces indoors and in the surrounding grounds to enjoy. Impressed that there are spa and swimming pool facilities. Although we weren’t able to use them this time.
The restaurant. Service was inconsistent. Some staff helpful and pleasant. Some staff not. Breakfast was poor quality and guests had to chase up on refilling the foods.
3.5
Location. Spa. Parking facilities - plenty of spaces. Breakfast. Room was spacious. Staff were friendly and helpful.
Lack of ventilation in the room. Only had a small window and even after asking for the thermostat to be turned off/ down, it was too warm.

Very good breakfast location great

Not much
Stair and hallway area had a musty, urine, tobacco smell
2.0
Good to have pool facilities.
Poor restaurant options, also disappointing service. Breakfast request not available. No water in an 'executive' room. No robe as per booking confirmation.

Great spa & bar facilities. Size of room was excellent.
Room (mainly bathroom) had a few maintenance issues. 1 downlighter in bathroom not working. Lack of / location of towel rail. Hook for towel missing screw.

Room was superior room and was spacious but looked similar to a Premier Inn room
Shower was tepid and felt like it was on a timer.
Bathroom small for a superior room
Had to ask for extra towels
Breakfast was awful quality.
Price was extortionate (+100) - we paid just 62.50 for a room the next night at a pub in dunham massey that was far superior and felt luxurious. With a double walk in shower, jet bath and individual cooked breakfast with local quality produce.

The hotel seemed like a country manor. The staff were exceedingly friendly, personable, and helpful. The room was spacious, clean, and quiet. The swimming pool was divine, and the laconicum (a body temp sauna) was pretty amazing.
Nothing at all.

Lovely room. Very clean. Loved the court yard.
Someone had smashed glass in the pool and the facilities were shut. It was the main reason we went there.

we’ve never had a bad stay at the dunkenhalgh, the rooms are beautiful and spotlessly clean, the leisure centre is amazing and the restaurant fantastic
that we had to pay for the pool

Hotel must be closed for renovation, dirty and aged. In one night had to change three rooms - first time due to stuck room door, second time due to faulty shower, third room was ok’ish, but no hairdryer available, so had to ask for one, despite advertising hairdryer available in every room. Food in restaurant is awful, breakfast very limited with not a lot of healthy options. Reception ladies are nice and helpful, so no issues there, but management must be very poor if such customer experience can actually take place. Never will return and would highly recommend to avoid. Traveling around the country for work all the time, so not new to hotels, but can say never experienced something as bad.

The building is stunning. Grounds are lovely. Huge spacious room with two big double beds and a 65 inch TV. The lamb shanks were brilliant!! Very comfy and quiet.
Could do with some paint in the communal areas of the room corridors. The shower was incredibly hot and was impossible to adjust.

Reception staff and the duty manager were polite and friendly. Breakfast was really good.
They stopped meals at 8pm and there was no room service. No Wifi available in the room I had despite the managers efforts to connect me and I did request a room on an upper floor in a quiet area I ended up on the ground floor more like the basement. The hotel is tired and seriously needs upgrading is not a 4 star hotel.

Bedrooms are clean and the breakfast is very nice, room service was really good. Was given spa vouchers due to it being my birthday which was really nice given that you now have to pay extra
Card machine didn’t work properly for room service so kept getting phone calls about the payment whilst we were eating our food. Also you now have to pay for the spa, extra £10 each which is expensive given the price you pay for the room

Reception was quick and proffessional.
Room was not really prepared for the visit, there was no heating on (room was very cold), only one hand towel provided, second bath towel was found in the wardrobe. Given we had booked weeks in advance this indicated a lack of care for their clientelle.
The room was kitted out for a disabled person so plenty of space but nowhere to sit and sparsely furnished.
After a long journey we wanted a snack, the bar was advertised as serving food, however apparently the chef was "tired" and we were refused any food before 18:00, contrary to the advertised times. Ridiculous in a hotel of this size.

we enjoyed the experience with spa facilities
meal on the menu stated it was gluten free and it was not

very clean, staff very friendly
breakfast wasn’t great and wasn’t worth the price

I think the hotel needs a massive upgrade. The age of the hotel presents problems no thermostats in the room. No key cards. Room wasn’t cleaned for three out of the four days dishes that I put outside the door remained there until I moved them. It’s definitely not worth £100 a night.
Staff being kinder to guests overall

Mattress was very comfortable and the fact you get spa access ass part of the stay is a plus (although we didn’t use this). Very clean and the morning cleaning staff were very friendly.
Food at the Cameo was a big let down, felt like we had eaten food from a Whetherspoons. Pillows were very hard to the point where being uncomfortable woke us both up multiple times in the night. We chose to have ‘breakfast in bed’ however the card on the door wasn’t collected by the morning so we didn’t get to do this. Breakfast downstairs was more ‘£60 a night premier inn’ vibes than ‘£160 hotel’ vibe. No bottled water or biscuits to have with a brew in the room either (again, for what we paid would expect more attention to the little details)

Pool facilities
Breakfast was very poor , Raw tomatoes, cheap sausages , just cooked back no colour undercooked danish - just not very good for the amount we paid to stay I expect a better standard of food
Cold water in the shower

Size of the room. Welcoming staff. Location and setting perfect.
Disrespectful guests: Noise of guests from earlier Charity event. Rowdy at 1am. Doors banging. Bedroom hopping from 5am and arguing at 7am.

Breakfast was ok, no black pudding and fruit flies on table
Room was a long way from main bit of hotel and for some reason was a room for disabled. No bath , large , dark wet room with a light bulb that was out and a door handle falling off. The bathroom sink stank and was at nose height when using the loo.

The room we had was beautiful, bed was comfy and room was spacious and very clean! On arrival the reception staff where lovely, kind and caring. We were celebrating our anniversary so the staff kindly gave us a free drink from the bar. We also payed the extra for the swan package which included a beautiful Swan made out of towels, rose petals all on the bed and a lovely message written on the mirror, also some lovely cakes on a decorated plate. Couldn't fault the room at all, we slept like babies!
We had breakfast and payed over £16 each and was very disappointed by the quality of the food, we kept seeing flies everywhere too which just puts you off completely, after that we went out for breakfast instead as it was cheaper and better quality.
Bar staff don't really know what they are doing, waiting ages for a drink then when you get your drink it's made incorrectly which is disappointing, Also the prices where ridiculous, £18 for two drinks one being a double JD and coke, the other being a double arches and lemonade. We decided it was cheaper and better value to make our own drinks in the room instead.

A free welcome drink was very unexpected and a lovely touch when we arrived too early for check-in
All was good

The staff went the extra mile for kids. Our wee girl loved her balloons on arrival and the animal treasure hunt. Dinner and breakfast was lovely. Dinner especially! Pool was lovely and I loved the building and grounds
Some of the furniture in room was showing its age....but to be fair the hotel was being done up and effort was apparent in this area.
