We have stayed at The Crown Hotel three times now and love it! Our latest stay was in The Stable Suite in the grounds of the hotel and it was exceptional. All the staff are friendly and professional and the food is excellent.

Elegantly furnished in an old-fashioned way. A good vibe from the helpful staff, who gave the impression of enjoying their work and of operating as a well-managed team. Untypical room. Because of slight disability we were generously given a ground-floor room with wet-room, although not strictly necessary. Comfortable, but not enough storage or wardrobe space, presumably because of adaptations needed for wheelchair users. Good dinner with interesting menu. Breakfast excellent, with eg eggs florentine and benedictine on offer.

Car park is more than big enough for hotel guests, but virtually full during the day because of visitors to the spa facilities. On the one occasion we took the car out during the day we only just managed to find a parking space when we returned at 4.30 pm.

The on-site facilities are great. New decorating looks fab.

The bathroom was slightly dated and needs redoing but it looks as though they are slowly redoing the whole place.

Our accommodation was lovely, the breakfast options were fab and staff were very friendly and helpful. I particularly enjoyed engaging with the jigsaw provided and the leisure facilities.

The weather wasn't great, lots of rain, so we had to be careful of the steps and got a bit wet going from our accommodation to the main hotel.

Location was great for walking and chilling out in sauna, steam and jacuzzi after. Rooms were clean and most of the staff were lovely and helpful. The guy in the gym is amazing. So so lovely and kind.

Breakfast, it was so slow, staff were not attentive. And the food was basic. Eggs were so under done and it was cold.

Comfortable room and facilities. Good breakfast menu choice and well cooked.

It was functional but not friendly like our last 2 stays probably due to a shortage of people around. We did not like the shortage of parking spaces due to the outside tables and chairs and it did not feel so safe for parking our cars. This was a main draw to us having visited twice before. Disappointed also with the somewhat streamlined meals in the dining room and not having a specials choice available. Overall we enjoyed our stay but not as much as on previous occasions.

Very friendly and helpful receptionists. Staff in the restaurant were very efficient and friendly both at dinner and breakfast. Car parking was excellent.

The en-suite facility in our room was in need of refurbishment even though the actual bedroom had been refurbished.

Room was lovely and clean, plenty of room in superior double, breakfast was great and staff very friendly, there is a swimming pool with jacuzzi which we didn’t know about but would have used if we had known

Meal time was a bit strict, on second night after a long very wet but enjoyable day racing, we were only given 55mins to get showered, changed etc before dinner, this spoilt the experience a little given the fact that there were many empty tables and few guests arriving for dinner all the time we were seated, the same thing happened again at breakfast, so be prepared to be controlled with eating and have to rush Also be aware this is a card only hotel, you cannot use cash, it’s nice to have the option, didn’t really effect us, but it clearly did some of the other guests Lastly the evening dinner menu is very limited on choice

Great location and the facilities were spot on.

Bar staff weren’t very friendly and left all glasses outside until asked to clear the table and I took them in myself. A small point.

Little teething bits in the room. One Little light didn't work, dirty grout in bathroom. Didn't effect our enjoyment but a little bit of attention needed.

Room was nice, bathroom was very old & in need of update. Breakfast was OK, but nothing special & I have a hate of having to make my own toast, standing round the toaster is not my favourite pastime. Only ate on the one night, food was good.

Small details on decor, painting of doors, windows etc. in room & in corridors, needs a refresh Signal to the TV in the room was a little problematic, seems to be an old freeview system, adequate but not more.

Learned, clean and very comfortable room. Hotel is clean and well decorated throughout. Friendly staff. Good dinner & breakfast, which was included in the room price was excellent. Secure onsite parking
