overall I think it is a great summer experience in the woods! it is very close to the gondola lift going up to Happon Pond. it is basically a walkable distance during the summer. and I believe it is going to be confident for skiing during the winter.
This place has a style that makes you feel European, the main building looks like a villa from central Europe, and the interior has a classic Western deco with some Japanese elements, especially the memory of the 1998 Olympics. the lounge has 2 lovely fireplaces, even though this is summer, I could imagine how this will light the joy in your heart during the winter.
I think this is the only resort you can find in the area. the hotel has several sectors and even has a camp area called "the forest" next to it. you can order drinks in the pub and sit next to the fireplace, that is so much fun during the summer.
The dinner buffet is absolutely amazing, you must book it! every dish is freshly made with the best flavor you can ever taste, it is very impressive and definitely a great treat after a long hike during the day.
and the staffs are very nice and helpful. had an interesting conversation with the driver who picked us up from the station, the front also gives us very clear instructions on the timetable of the bus and all tourist information. special thanks to Miss Chen and the South Asian waiter(forgive me I didn't catch his name) in the diner.
overall I think it is totally worth the price and may be one of the best places for a family trip in the area regardless of the seasons. this is the place you should stay in Hakuba.
Even though I like the place, I think there are several things that need to improve:
1. WIFI is not very good, basically, the signal is very weak and unstable, if you wanna watch Netflix, it can be a challenge. the main reason I give the hotel an 8, otherwise it will be a 9 for me.
2. The toilet in the room is a bit too small if you are a big guy, that can be uncomfortable.
3. It is a central air condition system, I think it makes sense during the winter, but it could be hot during summer and you can not change the temperature. especially this year is particularly hot.

The service is excellent, staffs are so helpful and friendly, special thanks to Yuki, Bobo and Sato, they are so welcoming and helpful, which made our stay really great.
Onsen is great and not too many people. Sometimes we were the only guests like our private onsen.
The buffet doesn’t have too many varieties and became a bit boring after 1 day
Also the place is a bit aged but still very clean

Good location but not quite as close to the slopes as I had imagined, needs a good 10 min walk to closest lift on the main road (or wait for the shuttle bus).
Being able to buy discounted ski pass from the hotel each day was excellent.
The evening shuttle service was exceptional, super fast friendly and smooth, both to go out and come back after dinner.
Room was comfortable and decent size but a bit strange in some ways for a ski hotel (eg. nowhere to hang jackets etc to dry other than in the closet).
Bathroom very small, and tub/shower very difficult to get in and out of.
Breakfast was good but same every day, a bit of variety would have been nice.

Fantastic place to stay if you are skiing in Hakuba. We had a room with the biggest bed we have ever slept in. Breakfast included each day which was very convenient. Ski gear hire across the car park. Two restaurants on site. Private and public onsen. The staff were SO helpful and went out of their way to assist.
Not a thing

Location was very convenient for skiing; private onsen was nice to be able to reserve, lobby area was nice with access to purchasing wine and beer at tending machines.
Bathroom was a little strange for Americans but it was very clean and functional.

Japanese buffet breakfast was good. Private hot bath also a great plus after skiing. Location is perfect with rentals, lift and a pub all there.

we loved the onsen here! great location to walk to chair lift:) beautiful lobby and spacious rooms. Breakfast was good also!
there were no food options if you woke up early. be sure to have some snacks if you're suffering from jet lag or wake up hungry!

A great place to stay :) and it’s near to Hakuba Gondola. 15min walk from Hakuba bus terminal but they have shuttle bus to pick you.
The hotel also helped us to book the free shuttle bus to Tsugaike Kogen - which was unexpected connivence

The property was so cozy, there were two fireplaces in two different lounges, there was a variety of comfortable furniture, there are restaurants and bars nearby with both western and Japanese food. If you don’t ask your room to be cleaned, you can get some free stuff from the front desk like snacks and drinks. The breakfast was exceptional and just the whole place and area was so beautiful. We went there because we just wanted to see snow and it was so incredible and fluffy, haven’t seen something like it before. Overall, I recommend it for relaxing, working and skiing.

We arrived with a two year old and a baby and had forewarned the hotel that the youngest was a night screaming monster. They didn’t seem to mind and gave us an upgrade. Everything was excellent. The hotel is old style but in a really warm and cozy way. Many hangout areas and three wood fires. Location is out of town but perfect for skiing with a lift a two minute walk away and centrally places in Hakuba valley to access the other 10 resorts. The staff were really amazing. All were super lovely but a big shout out and thank you to Mr. Kinuwa, Michelle, Midori and Erin. Great food for breakfast and dinner and the wonderful onsen make it all the perfect Japanese experience.
Nothing. If you find fault here you shouldn’t be traveling.
