The rooms are nicely decorated and felt spacious enough. Overall the place has a 'European' flair and you can tell they are making an effort to make it nice for their guests.

A few things could have been better - No blackout curtains in the room so the light comes through the curtains in the morning. Generally in NZ there is a small bit of milk in the fridge for a cup of tea, but there wasn't - we had to go out and find some at a petrol station. (We checked in late at around 9 pm? - we had called ahead to let them know) There was only one packet to make a plunger coffee, so only enough coffee in the morning for one cup each. I thought that wasn't so good especially as we had booked for two nights. The motel is beside the busiest road in Whangarei, and you can hear the traffic. For $240 per night, I thought perhaps a little overpriced overall.

Great room! The underfloor heating was nice. Also, they have some cute dogs and cats :)

Clean, spacious and super comfortable, we always try to stay at the Lodge Bordeaux anytime we travel to Whangarei. Customer service is friendly and authentic.

Warm and well appointed rooms. Clean and modern. Like the recycleable milk bottles.

Felt the water pressure in the shower was a bit low. But that could have been as we were in an accessible unit and they didn't want to flood the floor.

The apartment was very clean, neat and well equipped. Cleanliness is super important to us and we were not disappointed.

The only disappointment was the mattress - soft and hollow. A new, firm, supporting mattress would have ensured a good night's sleep.

Fantastic as per usual. Very friendly staff who were happy to accommodate us pre arrival by storing our bags. They chilled our beverages while we were out and about and couldn’t be more helpful. Very comfy bed and great bath!

Only thing would be the pillows. However they’re very much a personal preference. Everything else was fantastic. The best place to stay in whangarei!

Nothing. I enjoyed the stay. it was a bit pricier than I would normally spend but was worth the extra. maybe the fan in the bedroom could’ve been more effective as the weather was quite hot.

The beds are soo comfortable and rooms are lovely and quiet. The rooms are all modern and very clean. Totally met all of our needs. Would definitely recommend this Lodge and we would certainly stay here again.

A very minor issue but both my husband and I wanted to try the shampoo and conditioner as they looked really nice but only enough for one person.
