I liked the location. The staff is very nice and also the common areas where super nice. I liked that I got upgraded when I arrived. Kirsten was very patient with me.

It was kind of loud. The pillows where not very comfortable.

Rooms with privat bathroom in the old part of the building are big, well equipped and clean. Hot water. Good common area.

The quality of rooms for the same price can vary greatly. Double rooms without bathrooms are very small and basic. Some rooms are very noisy due to the nearby train.

2nd stay, first was very pleasant.

Small, noisy room, shared the patio with both, the neigbors bathroom and their bedroom window. Slightly smelly

Nice old well maintained building. Spacious room with good quality furniture. Very friendly and helpful staff.

Not many Restaurants near by. The railroad is very close and train pass by wit a lot of noise early in the morning (earplugs are helpful)

Budget guesthouse close to city centre, with flaws largely compensated by the low price. Free coffee in lobby.

The room wasn’t dirty, but poorly vacuumed with some hair and other debris on the floor. Dodgy area, receptionist advised not to leave alone after 8PM. This may be true of many areas in San Jose, anyway did not feel safe leaving after sunset. Room lock was functional but felt insecure. Breakfast was OK for the price but small portion (consider going 50m down the street to an a la carte restaurant). Ripoff hotel taxi service, just take uber.

Nice and safe vibe. Huge soft bed. Free coffee and thea. Close to the city centre. Cozy common area to relax.

If I have to say something it would be the cold shower (it gets warm sometimes if you try hard enough).

Staff were super friendly, our private room was great with a king sized bed and nice hot showers. There was no aircon but it was cooler in the city and with windows open the fan wasn’t even needed.

Not a lot of food options nearby.

Guesthouse is much prettier, then on the photoes. Large rooms, light, quiet, super clean and comfortable. I really enjoy my stay and it was worth of value.

Coffee and tea were always available in the lobby and the common areas are kept very clean. There’s always someone at the front desk to open the gate, even at night.

The bed was not very comfortable, and the room had a strange smell.
