We thoroughly enjoyed our 3 night stay at Manakau Lodge. We arrived on a rainy day and were warmly welcomed by Neil and the open fire in the foyer - was wonderful! Our room was spacious and comfortable and had everything we needed - it was lovely and quiet to the surroundings and we were able to relax and enjoy the stunning views! We really liked having access to the kitchen facilities and the tea/coffee station in the dining room. We loved the location of being out of town and it is only a short drive back into Kaikoura to enjoy a meal or 2 out. Neil was a wonderful host and we very much appreciated our complimentary tote bag - thank you so much !

The rooms and views are precisely as advertised. The host is a gracious gentleman. We brought some simple foods from the grocery in town and used the lodge kitchen to prepare a light dinner and breakfast. It all felt like home.
