The location is amazing, the rooms are very comfortable and the majority of the staff super nice and attentive
I have only two comments. The first one as mentioned in other reviews they should have a gym and the second one is a complaint about one member of the staff at reception. The minimum expectation for a person in that position is to be welcoming. That person was everything but that.
She made us feel as she was making us a favor for “allowing” us to stay at this hotel. Making us feel as we were thiefs and we were gonna steal either an umbrella or a towel or something else.
I read a similar comment about this from another person so I am pretty sure it is the same one because she was the only one to be mentioned as disrespectful and rude.

Nice place, top located infront of volcano arenal.
Friendly staff and super cared.
I just can recommend to book Lomas the Volcan for you La Fortuna trip.

Very charming hotel with a fantastic location. The morning breakfast was wonderful and the room we had was very comfortable and romantic. The staff was very friendly and the grounds were immaculate.
Can't think of anything aside from a giant fan to move the clouds away from the volcano :)

The location is amazing. Very quiet only birds will wake you up. We really enjoyed the stay and how the place and gardens were maintained. Nature is present everywhere.

The garden, the forest, the location, the breakfast, the very comfortable bed.
Very dark bungalow with musty smell. I cannot recommend the restaurant for dinner, it is very big and looks like a canteen. And it is quite expensive. In the morning at breakfast you cannot order an espresso coffee, they only have very diluted American coffee. The bar, where you can order good coffee, opens too late.
The wifi is so poor.

The location was excellent, with tremendous views of the Arenal Volcano while also being an easy drive to the retail part of La Fortuna as well as outdoor activities. Our room and all public spaces we immaculately clean, and the landscaping was lovely and beautifully maintained. It was great to have the privacy of an individual casita vs a standard hotel room.
Two things that kept me from giving Lomas a 10: the very spotty WiFi in our casita was frustrating because both my wife and I had a small amount of work to do. The other complaint, which is the downside of the beautifully maintained landscaping, was the morning ritual of power trimmers, leaf blowers, etc.

Having our own private bungalow at this price was an absolute dream! We had a perfect view of the volcano when the clouds moved away from our back patio.
The road leading up to the resort is extremely rocky and tough on a car if you don't have an SUV or jeep.
