Wonderful location. Our room overlooked the ox bow bend of the river. Rooms were very tastefully decorated with verandah and large bathroom. We loved the whole ambience of reception area, room, facilities and dining. We had the best dinner of our trip at Emily Moon.

Beautiful suite with fantastic views. In spite of the heavy rains it was amazing to sit on the covered deck and enjoy the nature and surroundings. Friendly and helpfull staff and we appreciated that the owner took her time to chat over breakfast.

The location is beautiful and the Suite we had was great. The decor and African/Asian theme was truly amazing. The restaurant and food was good, we will come back and try the Pizza's next time.

We checked in at 13:30 and apart from the snacks in the minibar you could not order any food. Not even a cheese board or a toasted sandwich.

I loved the layout of the room and bathroom. Great furnishings very well put together. The manager was very friendly and always accommodating. The hotel has a great atmosphere but also offers serenity and privacy.

Friday night dinner was loud and due to the celebration. It was at the end of the holiday season and not a great place to eat due to the crowds.

Emily Moon is easily one of the best places I have ever stayed. It is absolutely breathtaking. Worth every cent. We only wish we booked our stay for longer because we didn’t want to leave! The views are INCREDIBLE. The room is beautiful. The food at the restaurant is amazing. The staff are lovely. I really couldn’t fault our stay at all.

I wouldn’t recommend coming for Christmas. We had a great Christmas lunch but after that the whole hotel shuts down (no access to food/drinks etc) and felt empty. We were told we would be able to order a platter to our room on Christmas evening since the restaurant would be closed but then no platter appeared and we couldn’t get hold of anyone. Ended up driving into Plett where no restaurants could take us so had a Wimpy in the petrol station which wasn’t what we’d hoped for Xmas dinner!

Staying at Emily Moon River was best night we had on our Trip. From the design to the staff, every thing was just amazing. Reception welcomed us and showed us around. The room we got was clean and well equiped (also had a great view), The pool was real nice and Private for the guests. We had dinner at the Emily's restaurant which was super tasty! We really enjoyed our time there, highly recommended :)

Absolutely stunning setting. So unassuming at the entrance hidden away, then WoW.

The place is absolutely gorgeous. Perhaps a slightly later check out to absorb the final beauty of the establishment.

The location is great and felt like a home from home. I wished we could have stayed longer. The food was also amazing, and the friday night pizza and beers (plus music and dancing) was great fun. All of the staff, with the exception of very grumpy lady upon check in, were friendly and helpful. The owner (plus his cute dog) were present and provided some very useful tips on things to do in the local area. I would recommend this property and would certainly return!

DO NOT MAKE YOUR LAUNDRY THERE!!! We had a very bad experience. They were supposed to take our laundry bags on 7am and return it by check out time (11). Only on 9am someone came to take our bags and again, said it will be ready until checkout. We checked out on 10am and once again, they told us it will be ready on 11. We paid a fortune for each piece and it was super expansive. We went out and came back on 11:30, and still it wasn’t ready. We were waiting for another hour and finally they came with the laundry. It was returned in the same dirty bags we brought it in, and they told us that on two on the bags the clothes are still wet. We put the bags in the car and right after, an employee came running and said that one of her pants is in there. She started picking in our bags, almost dropping it to the ground, and found her pants there (meaning they put other stuff with our laundry). Also, it has a bad smell. We had a long ride after so we didn’t even had the option to dry the wet clothes. We paid so much and have to give it again to get cleaned. Oh and they didn’t even apologised for the time we spent, for the wet clothes and for picking into our bags to find that jeans. For now there are three missing items!! Other than this and the many ants in the bath it was nice, but we left with a really bad taste.

It was our wedding anniversary so we treated ourselves to a night at Emily Moon on our holiday in SA. Such a lovely location and room. Your own garden suite. Especially loved the fire in the room which we used as the night was chilly. The room was very spacious and beautifully decorated. Bed very comfortable and lovely bedding. Booked a meal at the restaurant that night and the service and food were exceptional. Very much enjoyed and the view of sunset from the restaurant is stunning. Breakfast was equally delicious in the morning. Lovely to spend the afternoon relaxing in the stunning seating areas watching the birds flit around.

No hairdryer The chairs on the top terrace are instruments of torture! Would have loved some more comfortable ones to enjoy the wonderful view. Some maintenance and updating is required in the bathroom but it was super clean.

One of the most beautiful views to offer and such an unique place! Great vibe all the way round with attentive staff and owners and such great ideas at the whole place! Definitely a must in Plettenbergbaai
