One of the finest apartments we have ever stayed in: very spacious, beautifully appointed and with a huge, comfy bed. The views of Funchal and the ocean from the apartment are fantastic. And the terrace gets sun almost all day. The free parking was a distinct bonus in a city like Funchal. Louise was a perfect host, helpful and attentive but also discreet.

Nothing at-all. Some may prefer to be closer to the sea and shops, but I guarantee they won't find a home from home like this apartment in that part of town.

The host was exceptionally friendly and helpful. There is privacy, peace and tranquility. The accomodation is located in an area far from hotels full of tourists. The cottage house is well furnished and has great amenities (cookware, toaster, iron, extra TV channels...). The wifi is excellent.

The street to the accommodation is quite steep (but away from road traffic). The Cottage House wasn't as luminous as the pictures.

The view

After booking the villa my husband and I were a little confused about the concept of 3 villas in one building. Louise (the owner) patiently explained how they are situated (they're all private with a separate entrance), sent more pictures, and even offered us to cancel the reservation with a full refund (even though officially it was past the deadline). Her communication and attitude made us feel comfortable coming. And we are glad we did. Our plane landed late at night and Louise went out of her way to make sure we arrived well. The two weeks in the villa were unforgettable. We extended our stay and it was still hard to leave. Louise and her husband Raul were so nice, helpful and made us feel at home. And the villa is GORGEOUS! Very spacious, clean, well equiped, everything listed in the description was available, and the Wifi is fantastic (~100m up/down). The terrace is huge and the view is breathtaking. Most of all, what a friendly host family!

beautiful villa with all comfortables. It is not far from the city, but walking on the hills for the first days is difficult, the third day is already ok. Everything else is super. extremely nice hostess Louise, very helpful and gave good advice on where to go and what to do. we are extremely satisfied

We had an amazing stay at Number 15. The villa is beautiful, clean, well appointed and the views over Funchal from the wrap around windows and the extra large balcony are stunning. Louise and Raul are excellent hosts, friendly and approachable, offering us useful tips and restaurant recommendations. This trip was postponed from December, we are so glad to have finally made it here and definitely plan to return.

Louise and her husband (Raul if I remember correctly) were really lovely people, very welcoming and easy to talk to. They helped us whenever necessary. The property was clean, comfy, and cosy. Several places to sit inside and outside, all with their own charm. Funchal is a fabulous city, beautiful buildings, streets, streets and alleyways, perfect for exploring on foot.
