I liked our stay at Kira’s very much. Very good location, safe, always someone available for everything. Friendly staff, very delicious breakfast. The breakfast was also locally inspired, selfmade bread, cake, yoghurt, juice, catchupa …, but if you just want a continental breakfast there is also more than enough choice!

The only thing I missed was a good coffee with my breakfast, the coffee available was some kind of instant coffee. But not such a big thing, more than enough places to drink a good coffee in Mindelo! We liked our stay a lot!

nice staff and location

santa luzia room should simply not exist, the entrance was literally behind reception and the windows on the common garden. zero privacy and noise insulation. owners know this very well as earplugs where already in the room

The breakfast was lovely - catchupa and meats, cheeses, bread, fruit, yoghurts etc.

We had a bad room. We just needed a place to get a good night's sleep but our room was right next to the reception desk. In addition, our window shutters opened out to the courtyard so we couldn't open them for fresh air without people having breakfast being able to see in. I felt quite claustrophobic by the time we left and because we had to rely on AC to cool the room, my cough felt worse. We were woken around 11:30pm by people collecting keys from reception, at 1am by people ringing the bell to gain access, and then from 6:30am by the breakfast set up and after 7am people were eating breakfast right outside our window so we just got up. There was no space in the courtyard for us to eat breakfast so we didn't even get to enjoy the lovely area that made our stay uncomfortable! If I'd known the location of the room I would have paid more for another room because we left feeling terrible.

Breakfast was amazing. There was lots of variety in the buffet selection, from homemade bread to homemade yogurt and freshly made omlettes or fruit juice, there was nothing more we could want. Also, the room was very nice and the owner was very helpful regarding dinner choices, the ferry schedule and arranging transportation. We liked it so much, we came back for another night after returning from Santo Antao.

On our second night we had a room facing the street. It got pretty loud until about 11 pm.

Super friendly staff, great breakfast, cozy atmosphere in the rooms but also in the public areas. Central location, close to the beach, good restaurants and the ferry. We liked it so much, that we booked again after returning from Santo Antao.

I stayed here for two nights. On my way to Santa Antao and then on my way back. A very comfortable and pleasant place. Clean rooms. Lovely Cape Verdean women who manage the hotel. Very good breakfast that can be taken either indoors or in an interior courtyard. They were very helpful in making taxi arrangements, restaurants and directing me to get a Covid test.

From all (3 in total) accommodations I tried in Mindelo, by far the BEST one. And the best value for money 👍 Fantastic staff and warm welcome from the owner. Bed was very comfortable. Location is ideal - 5min by foot from the stores etc. Breakfast was for all tastes! They arranged a room on the courtyard side, even more quiet. Not to mention responsiveness, kindness and help (laundry service).

Great boutique hotel, nice rooms, excellent breakfast, in a quiet area close both to the ferry port and the old city animation. I will choose this hotel for sure if I pass by Mindelo again. And thanks Isabel and her team for the warm welcome! Note: I was upgraded to the Fogo room
