The lodge is run by Anu, with his sister and mother supporting. He is the reason this place is so exceptional! Anu is so kind-hearted and went out of his way throughout our stay to make us comfortable. He arranged day trips, a lot of the time taking us himself. He loves kids, so engaged with our kids constantly from showing them the different wild birds that visited the property to taking us up to his treehouse or showing us the different fruit he was growing. He treated our kids like his own, checking to make sure that they were safe. I would stay at Darshani Lodge again just because of Anu and his family. We alerted them in advance that we needed a cot, and it was there when we arrived. They prepared home cooked meals for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, which were delicious. And when I needed to have a work call during the kids sleeping, Anu opened up another room for me to take my 30mins call and made sure, as much as he could, to fix the WiFi reception. He just really went out of his way to make us comfortable.

Nothing - it is a basic yet charming place; as long as you have that in mind, there won't be anything you don't like.

The people were really friendly, they cooked the best diner and breakfast for us with harvest from their garden . We could always ask for help if we needed something. They told us many things about the Sri Lankan culture, religion and traditional dishes. Their brother took us on many trips around in the area. The stay is clean and has AC which is a huge plus. We had such a good stay here we ended up staying one night and extra. We felt really welcomed and the location is perfect to discover Sigiriya. Would definitely recommend!

One of the best accommodations we have ever met: - Very fresh and clean - Spacious and bright room - With a wonderful terrace and garden - All the facilities work well - Comfort in every detail - room, bed, terrace, bathroom, breakfasts, communication, etc - Location And of course the hosts - a very nice intelligent family, who are polite, easy to communicate, and very kind. It is that case when you are not sure why you enjoyed the visit to Sigirya: because of the ancient attraction and cozy town or because of the wonderful experience maintained by the hotel and this family.

Champika and her family is amazing! they made my stay very comfortable, taking care of me and making sure i’m safe at night. there are wild elephants going around in the morning and at night, which is such a lovely experience! the garden is beautiful, and the tree house is amazing!

at night you have to take tuktuks as it’s not safe to drive
