The location of the house was really nice and close to the beach. There was a few housekeeping things that weren’t the same as the listing showed. The tv didn’t work and we were on the phone with the cable company for an hour trying to resolve it with no success. The listing showed that it came with a toaster and none was provided. The living room area only had seating for 4-5 people so that made the evenings a little difficult. However, all in all it was a nice time spent with family and being at the beach is always a good vacation.

We felt right at home and had all the conveniences needed. The beds were comfy and the porch was a nice touch. It was in walking distance to the beach too.

First off read the fine print!!! We failed to do that and were very disappointed when we got there. You must bring all your own bedding and towels! We thought we’d be getting the whole house but no it’s split into a small apartment upstairs and the owner downstairs. There is no proper community space. The wicker furniture is awful. The teens mostly stayed in their room when at the place since there was no real communal space. There is a great porch that is right over where the owner sleeps so we really didn’t use it much and you have to go through a bedroom to get to it. We were very concerned about making too much noise with all those kids since the owner is elderly. There really wasn’t a feeling of privacy. We could hear ppl in the drive way as if they were in the house. The outdoor shower doesn’t work, the dryer slashed everyone’s clothes,DON’T USE THE DRYER! There is only one shower and we had 7 kids and 2 adults. The half bath is in a small bedroom and very inconvenient when everyone is sleeping or changing. The place was pretty clean but we found cobwebs in corners and base boards. The kitchen is tight, it’s not stocked for cooking so bring your own stuff if you plan to cook a lot or for more ppl. Bring your own knives for sure!
The location is really what it’s all about. So close to the beach and town. Convenient parking, nice little park across the street and just so close to the beach.

Great Location and Experience!
Our family had a wonderful long weekend in Rehoboth at this property. It is in a fantastic location and the accommodations were great! Definitely recommended.

Good place to stay
I highly recommend. Calm and peaceful place. Mary lives below super kind and welcoming. The best part of my day was exchanging conversations with her and learning a little About flowers .

Stay at Olive Ave, Rehoboth Beach, DE
We had a wonderful time at this location and property. The owner lives downstairs and was very receptive to questions during our stay and before. The house was perfect size and configuration for the 4 of us. The house has a well appointed kitchen and is exceptionally clean. The street noise was minimal as the house was set back from the street. This house is about 3 blocks from the beach and close to all restaurants and stores off Rehoboth Ave. Both Rise Up coffee and Starbucks are a short walk away! One of the best experiences we have had at Rehoboth. Thank you Ellen for a great time!!

Such a great place to stay
This place is great and the owner was a pleasure to rent from. The house is very cozy and is only two blocks from the beach. There are plenty of shops and restaurants within walking distance. We were worried about the single shower but we really didn't have any issues, even with six adults. The neighborhood is very friendly for pedestrians and bicycles and there is a Starbucks just up the street.

Pleasant stay and close to center of town and the beach.
Pretty clean and can 1-2 cars in the driveway. Also, provides a parking pass for the street. Overall pretty good stay!

Overall very poor rental experience
Owner was not present to let us in. Very poor communication. Had to wait 2 hours to get keys. Never received an apology. Would not recommend staying there. Only positive comment is location.

Cute house, walking distance from the boardwalk.
Some friends and I were recently at this place and really enjoyed our stay. The house was the perfect size for our group of 6, and was about a 10 minute walk to the beach/boardwalk.
We had some trepidation after reading other reviews about being too rowdy, I want to say that we had no issues! The owner downstairs was extremely friendly and kind (with a very cute cat.) We were up until 2 chatting and catching up each night, and this level of noise did not seem to cause a disturbance.
The owner was also super flexible with us on check out day -- she let us stay a little longer and keep our car parked for the day.
We would definitely come back to this place -- it was a great stay.

Disappointing
While a wonderful location in Rehoboth, the accommodations were sub-par and the owner at times difficult to work with. A number of unit items did not work (washer, toilet, lights), and no true effort was made to fix these. It was NOT clear during booking on VRBO that one twin bed was a trundel. I didn't even know what a trundel was.

Great week at the beach
Great location - a short walk to everything!

Great location, space and owner
The owner handled an issue during check-in expeditiously and to our satisfaction. She was very friendly, easy to get in touch with and responsive as needed. We would definitely recommend the house and location to anyone.

Great beach weekend
Great location! Quiet around the house yet Boardwalk, Beach, and Rehoboth Ave with restaurants galore are just a short 5 min walk. The property owner is lovely and the property manager responded quickly to all of my questions. We had 6 adults and 2 teenagers- the house is small but comfortable. We were fine with just the one shower- we would have used the outside shower if it was warmer. The deck was perfect for a crab feast...nice breeze and perfect afternoon sun. The kitchen was equipped well for simple meals as there is too much good food and good entertainment around to be stuck inside. Can't wait to go back!

Wonderful Weekend
The place and location was wonderful and Mary Ellen was lovely.

Cozy and by the Beach!
The property was lovely! Cute, clean, and plenty of room to sleep everyone in our group, we also loved how spacious the deck is. Being only blocks from the beach and the center of town allowed us to park our cars when we arrived and not have to worry about driving for our whole stay. Checking in was a breeze and all messages were promptly responded to - absolutely great stay.

Great location!
4 bedrooms and 1.5 baths is a great large space to have 2 families at the beach. It rained all weekend, but everything in Rehoboth is in walking distance so no problems at all.

Clean, simple apartment near beach and restaurants
The apartment is the entire second floor of a property located less than 2 blocks from the beach and next to all of the Baltimore St restaurants and shops. The apartment has 4 bedrooms, kitchen, and a small living room and outdoor deck. The outdoor shower wasn't working, so there is really only one bathroom, which was fine for us - only 3 people. The apartment was clean, everything worked, and we had a great weekend. The landlord welcomed us when we arrived and made sure we had everything we needed.

Great property :: Wonderful location
The rental is the second floor of the owner's house. It's a very well kept property, super clean and cozy. There is a beautiful balcony, the kitchen is fully equipped.
It's an amazing location - 5-7 min walk to the beach, the same time to get to all Rehoboth attractions - stores, restaurants, etc. There is also a lake across the street, you can see it from the balcony.
Mary Ellen (the owner) and Linda (the rental manager) are both super great, very responsive and just wonderful people to be around.
I definitely recommend this place and would stay there again.

Perfect beach location, right near Rehoboth Ave
While this rental is on the second floor of an owner occupied first floor, it provided the perfect spot to celebrate a birthday weekend for 6 women. With 2 toilets, and 1 indoor and 1 outdoor shower, no one had to wait for very long to get ready. The outdoor deck provided the perfect place to chat and relax. The kitchen was amply supplied with glassware, coffee mugs, plates and utensils. We didn't want for anything.
The location is what makes this little getaway a true gem. It's about a two and a half block walk to the beach and is equally well-located to walk easily to all the nightlife and restaurants that make Rehoboth such a destination.
Highly recommend this place unless you must have lots of bathrooms. (Only one person actually used the outdoor beach shower, but it was perfectly fine.)

Great weekend property!
We booked a last minute trip with family we had in town, and this was a great spot for us! Our primary focus was the beach and the boardwalk, so we were just looking for a place to sleep and eat breakfast, and this hit the spot. The location couldn't be beat, and Mary Ellen (the owner) and Linda (Rental Manager) were so accommodating.
If you are a group with more than 1 car, I would recommend reaching out to the manager in advance of your trip and letting her know. There is another house on the lot for a larger group, and renters of that property may require a lot of parking. Included for us was one driveway spot and a street parking permit, however the permit spots are on a first come/first serve basis, and parking across the street is metered ($0.25/7 minutes from 10am-midnight daily). Mary Ellen went above and beyond for us by moving her car to a street spot as soon as she saw it opened, so I was able to snag it for the remainder of the trip.
We would definitely stay here again!

Good location, great price, friendly owner!
This property is a 1/4 mile from the beach and very close to all hot-spots in town. Olive Street is adorable and lined with very nice properties. The owner, who lives on the first floor, is very friendly and helpful. The unit is clean and a bargain for being so close to the beach/town. You need to bring sheets and towels, but the kitchen is well furnished and the unit is clean. We had 6 adults and 1 child and were comfortable. Having 1.5 bathrooms is not an issue as long as people are Ok taking advantage of the outdoor shower. Having 2 parking spaces included was very helpful as parking in RB can be challenging during the busy Summer months.

Great location, good price, very friendly.
This rental was in great shape and was a delight to stay there overall. The rental manager was very responsive via text. Some critiques would be that "sleeps 10" is a bit of a squeeze - it would include sleeping 2 people to every full bed. They also were still in the midst of cleaning when we checked in but the quality of the home was great. Be sure to bring your own linens - towels, sheets, pillow cases. I would rent this property again. Thanks for accommodating us!

Fun for Families but Far Less So for Friends
For the right group and the right occasion, this place would be wonderful. The house is ideally located, the right balance between beach and city; the premises are well maintained; and the kitchen is adequately appointed, equipped with all the essentials that one would need for a getaway. I would imagine that a large family on vacation would thrive in this rental. Heck, bring Uncle Jim, too!
For the wrong group and the wrong occasion, however, this place would likely be a disastrous choice. Ours, unfortunately, was just such a group. We're all unwed professionals who work long hours and therefore take our free time very seriously. When we booked this place, we had no idea that the owner (a mostly nice and colorful elderly woman who values her quiet time) resided in the unit directly below ours. That sort of put a damper on our Memorial Day weekend because we were on pins and needles about disturbing her peace, particularly after the harangue we had been subjected to. I'm sure our rambunctiousness earned us every bitter word she cast our way, but we simply would not have chosen this place had we known that she would be in the unit below. This is probably the single most important piece of information that any renter should have when considering this property.
We also didn't realize that the place doesn't really sleep ten people, not comfortably. Eight is more realistic—and that's only if those eight people are OK getting cozy with one another. We were ten, and we made it work. But my, was it a squeeze! We had to use two air mattresses (one of which we had to bring).
It's true that the property does face water. But calling it a lake might be a slight exaggeration. As the abundant and very songful bull frogs occupying "Lake" Gerar made vividly apparent, it probably leans more toward pond than lake, despite its name. Maybe this is another feature that recommends this place to families: one needn't fear for three-year-old Madison's safety near Lake Gerar; she could probably stand straight up in most of it with no problem. Readers may also be interested in knowing that the body of water is in front of, rather than behind, the house and separated from it by a street. It looks great for a nature walk, though, even if not for jet skiing.
In sum, I think a conscientious family in search of a quiet vacation would do very well here. If, however, you're a group of friends looking for a party vacation, you probably should look for a different place.

Pleasant and quiet upstairs
Pleasant upstairs space, plenty of bedrooms, outdoor porch. Kitchen and living room were small but well appointing. Not much in the way of plates or silverware, but we didn't need them - we ate out in the restaurants along the main street just a few blocks away. Owner lives downstairs and was very nice.

Great location.
We just left a great vacation week at Rehoboth Beach! We were allowed to bring our dog and he had a great time! The owner of the property lives below the rental and she was very, very sweet. I spent some time talking to her one afternoon. I think that we spent less time at the house because it was more of a place to sleep and organize than a place to live with the amount of folks we had with us. It was very clean and well cared for.
If you want a location that has spacious, comfortable living area, this might not be the best housing for you. There are a few areas to set up for meals, but with a bigger group it doesn't work to make dinners. We pretty much ate out and ordered food a few times. We all had to share the shower and bathroom, but we made it work. Some people were ok to shower outside. It's nice to have a washer and dryer, and many kitchen necessities. Generally a nice place. We're missing out vacation already!
