First class breakfast, using quality ingredients with a touch of the home made produce. Very comfortable, clean, lovely hosts, good value, what more could you want.

Ideal location for the coast to coast cycle path. Sue and Fred were excellent hosts and made me feel very welcome. Room was very comfortable and the breakfast set me up nicely for the 60miles of cycling I had to look forward to. Will definitely book again for future C2C trips.

I booked this last minute , and was delighted with ALL aspects of the stay . The house is gorgeous , the hosts were great and I’ll definitely be back . The breakfast was to die for .

I stayed at Armidale while visiting family nearby. Sue and Fred were fantastic hosts, they really made me feel welcome and looked after. The breakfast was cooked to order and really set me up nicely for the day :-) My room was lovely and the B&B in general has a very warm and friendly atmosphere. I would definitely stay with them again.

The only downside for me was the shared bathroom but it wasn't a problem as I was the only guest when I stayed. Also would be nice to have a separate shower (the shower is part of the freestanding bath).

Very comfortable bedroom and an excellent breakfast. Beautiful setting in a quiet location, Armidale Cottages date back to the 17th century and have been tastefully and carefully updated. Sue and Fred our hosts were very friendly and Sue went out of her way to make sure we were happy and comfortable.

The shower was a learning exercise, although the bathroom was very well appointed and we had it to ourselves.

Maybe a full bed sheet? (Instead of two single ones) But that’s me being really really picky!! They where fantastic hosts with everything we needed!

Sue was very friendly, and eager to help. I had a the ubiquitous "full English" breakfast and this kept me full for most of the day. This house is well kept, tidy and is a mix of German and English in influence that work well together. The bedroom had plenty of space and the bed was comfortable. There was the expected tea/coffee making equipment: unexpectedly, however, the coffee wasn't a sachet of the instant variety, but a pod machine. There was also a choice of Earl Grey, breakfast and green teas.

"What didn't you like?" isn't the best choice of question to answer as there wasn't anything I didn't like. I do have to mention that the room wasn't "en suite" but shared a bathroom, something I didn't notice when booking so some responsibility is mine there. I was, however, warned to sit down for a shower least the water go over the bath and went through into the room below. Also the bedroom doesn't have a lock on the door, just an Essex Latch: this wasn't a concern for me, but might be for others.

The owners couldn't have been more helpful and lovely. Lovely big old room and the bathroom was amazing.

Cosy, clean, welcoming B&B. Comfortable bed. The breakfast was exceptionally good.

Although I was the only guest at the time of my visit, so it wasn't an issue for me, but I can see how the shared bathroom can be a bit of a headache for some.

Comfy bed. Brilliant breakfast. Friendly hostess. Sauna is an added bonus worth paying for.

Felt like coming home! We hade a wonderful, warm welcome and enjoyed the stay really much.
