One of my favourite places to stay in Keswick.

Breakfast was excellent Vey close to the town centre Staff attentive and helpful

The room was beautiful. The honesty bar is a lovely touch.

the welcome was a bit scripted and not very exciting. I don’t like being called a resident and would rather to be have offered champagne than tea and cake on arrival.

Parking is provided at the rear with access to the hotel via a back entrance. I was met with an enthusiastic receptionist who explained the facilities, rules etc., and that I was in time for free coffee and cake; a great start. The room was comfortable with ample room and was clean and tidy. The heating was on and the room nicely warm. The room folder was full of useful information. The free coffee and cake was a bonus, Lemon Drizzle, very tasty. Breakfast in the morning was also FAB, a good portion well cooked and presented. I overheard a member of staff discussing walking routes with another guest, so local knowledge also abounds.

The shower was a bit of a let down. Though eventually warm, it took some time to heat up and then had to be turned down, as it got too hot. A minor inconvenience rather than a disaster. Views from my room were limited, but I knew that before booking, other rooms would have spectacular mountain views.

The hotel was in a perfect location with great parking. The room was gorgeous with an amazing view over Derwentwater and was clean and so warm and cosy. The staff were all friendly and so helpful and the breakfast was really good. Couldn't fault it at all. Will definitely return.

Good location and great lake views would definitely recommend.

We loved the room and the hotel, the location was amazing and staff were wonderful. Would have liked a bath but to be honest that was my fault when booking.

Didn't mention to staff as we forgot, but the only bad thing was the bed was a little uncomfortable as a stray spring was trying to escape from the middle of the mattress.

Got upgraded on arrival. 🙂 Great shower. Great breakfast. Great location.

The staff were always pleasant and very helpful. I twisted my ankle when out walking and they kindly supplied an ice pack when my wife requested it. The rooms were always tidied and new supplies of tea etc were left each day. They laid on tea / coffee and cake in the dining room each day between 3pm & 5pm for the guests who wished it. The breakfast menu was adjusted according to your wishes which enabled each of us to choose just as much or as little as we needed. There was more car parking than rooms in the hotel which meant no one needed to park on the street. A key was supplied for both the front and rear entrances (being the one nearest the car park.)

The steps outside which you had to ascend or descend when leaving/ entering by the rear entrance were perhaps a bit difficult for people with mobility or sight issues.
