my only issue with the property was payment. I didn’t see any staff the whole time I was there, so they didn’t try to charge my card until after I had left. I was told that the card didn’t work (even though it worked for every other guesthouse during my 18 day stay in Iceland). I was asked to provide another card details through the messages in booking.com, which is not a secure way of sharing credit card details. I ended up having to do an international transfer from my bank, and as my bank has a minimum 100 euro transfer amount I had to pay 15 euro more than the actual cost of the room

Lovely little guesthouse right on the edge of the peninsular. Check in was very easy and our room was comfortable and clean. Facilities were fairly basic, but met our needs and the shared kitchen was very handy. The views from the back of the house were stunning and we would happily stay here again.

This is a low-key guesthouse - only 5 rooms with self-service check-in - and was the quietest place we went in all of Iceland. Room had a sunset view of the Bay. I made a mistake booking and the owner kindly corrected it. There is a grocery and gas station across the street, and the swimming pool is just 100m away. Hofsos itself is now known for this terrific pool, which was donated to the town by two women in the Icelandic horse breeding business. Good for them. 9am-9pm 7 days you can soak or swim laps right over the bay.

Location. Only a short walk to heated public pool and hot tub. Excellent view of fjord. Right across street from small gas station and grocery store. Also had sandwiches and ice cream. Well equipped kitchen.

One room could have been a little cleaner.
