This place is a little gem . The owners are very welcome and very accommodating. We felt like we had known them for ages, nothing was too much trouble. The whole place feels like home from home. The breakfast was amazing and the setting was stunning. We could have spent days there. The owners are very knowledgeable about the surrounding area, for walks/ cycling etc.

Nothing at all to dislike

We arrived on three classic Lambretta motor scooters, (three couples) we were met by Paul who opened his garage for us to securely park the bike for the night, Paul gave us a friendly welcome & showed us to our rooms & explained all we needed to know. We were attending a wedding in the town so were ideally placed to walk to the venue. The on suite shower & room facilities were excellent with good hanging space for our smart clothes. Breakfast was lovely & was served in the conservatory over looking the river. We stayed for one night only but couldn't have been more welcome. Perfect.

Difficult to find fault, but if I was pressed, maybe the blinds in our room (3) could be replaced with 'blackout blinds', other than that I have no negative comments to offer.

Location was great, also a very warm welcome and tips and a bit history provided by the owner. Breakfast was excelent.

We managed, and was dog friendly, however the room was quite compact and a little squashy with our bigger dog. However was a good stay despite this.

The Owner was very friendly and welcoming, the accommodation was comfortable and I had a good nights sleep, I can’t comment on the breakfast as unfortunately I had to leave early for work.

Welcome from Paul super friendly & advice he provided useful. Only a fleeting night stay due to meeting family but stay was perfect for my son & myself when we there.

Bedroom was small but fine for a one night stay.

Very friendly and welcoming host, as a single traveller it is lovely to be made to feel so welcomed. My room was large and had a super stocked tea tray. Bathroom was clean and tidy, as was the whole property. Breakfast was lovely, good products cooked really well, with ample of fruit, yoghurt and cereals to choose from. Can't wait for a return visit.

Convenient for visiting friends

Size of sink but OK for one night. The shower was either very hot or very cold. Perhaps our lack of understanding of how it should be operated.

Great welcome. Room was a decent size with pleasant en suite. Very quiet with windows shut. Good location - town is just across the river. Good breakfast cooked to order, with view out onto the river.

Mattress a bit soft for us (we have a firm one).

Breakfast was great. Very tasty full breakfast cooked perfectly. A big range of cereals, yoghurts and spreads.

The room was quite small but it was absolutely fine as the bed was very comfortable and you only want to sleep in there.

Room was quite cramped

I arrived at Kingfisher Cottage on my bike after a very wet journey. Paul, the owner, couldn't have been more helpful - he helped me put away my bike in his secure garage and sort out my wet clothing so that it all got dry for the next day. Paul was very welcoming, helping me to settle in and suggesting where I could get an evening meal in Tavistock. It was only a short walk (a few minutes) into the centre of Tavistock. The property was very clean and comfortable and the facilities were good. Paul's breakfast was very enjoyable and set me up for the day ahead.

Comfortable room and beds with a pretty view of the river. Convenient location and excellent breakfast with dietary preferences easily accommodated. The host was very knowledgeable and helpful with good suggestions for places to eat and walk during our stay.

Parking was slightly awkward, and the proximity of a roundabout made getting out onto the road a bit tricky for us, although other people may not have had difficulty. However, we did find a solution by our second morning, so this would not stop us from booking another stay.
