The property is a very basic but right on the bank of the Mekong River, in a small fishing village. No shops or ATMs. Our hut on stilts had a small balcony with a spectacular view of the river, a spacious bedroom with a comfy bed and mosquito net and a seating area, and a good hot shower. it is a guesthouse - do not expect hotel-type service, but Mr Tam and the two girls are willing to help if you ask. He no longer runs a restaurant but there are two - simple but good, with views over the river, a minute’s walk away. We’d’ve stayed longer if we could.

it’s a bit confusing that the “name” on Booking. com is actually the description. The locals know it as Pomelo Guesthouse. it is the only guesthouse in the village (Ban Hang Khon) so it’s not hard to find (there are some home-stays as well). The Tuk Tuk drivers at the jetty at the other end of the island (which is where you arrive - book the bus and ferry to Don Khon) all seem to know it.

The name of the appartement is nice and correct, a pity that no one in the village recognized it, probably because it h is recently changed. Sit to that it cost a lot of time to find it.

The previous reviews are no longer correct, these are from before Covid. The apartment is good and is beautifully situated on the water, but that is all that is right. Not any service is provided, nothing cleaned, not even a bin emptied, no water, nothing at all. Distance to the village is more than 4 km instead of the 1.5 that has been specified. No transport service or help to arrange that. No staff. Conclusion; very bad price quality ratio.

It is a very beautiful and relaxing place with great views over the Mekong river.Oliva,the owner,is a great and very helpful host and will do everything to make sure your stay will be memorable.If available,try to book the newly renovated Lao Wooden Studio and you will enjoy probably the most spectacular terrace in the area-the best spot to have your morning coffee or evening glass of wine while enjoying the sunset over Mekong.The food is great,home made bread and jams for breakfast and delicious Lao-Thai fusion dishes for lunch or dinner thanks to the Thai chef!Make sure you will book a half day trip to the waterfall by the small boat (max 2 people) that Oliva will tell you about and you will discover a real hidden paradise with no tourists at all.
