Staff were so friendly, food was great and the pool bar was just what we wanted. Thank you!

Breakfast was cold and was the same everyday the beds were single and joined up but my husband and I couldn’t cuddle because of the raised bed ends in the middle very disappointed the gym was only one small room with one treadmill one cross trainer and one bicycle and some weights

Had an urgency due to cancelled flight; even with heavy demand - hotel was able to accommodate us stranded for some days. Good quality of food and drinks.

Service a little bit slow at check-in and had to wait for confirmation for 2nd day room, but understandable with the heavy demand on the top of planned customers.

Great location near the airport, ocean and walkable distance to Funchal. Food was nice. Waiters and reception staff were really helpful. Pools was nice. Easy parking.

Cocktails were very basic and didn't have much alcohol in them. Bed was fairly hard The hotel was clearly set up for a much older generation of people, music wasn't to our taste. Evening entertainment was poor and was repetitive. Gym could have benefitted from more equipment.

The facilities are decent and the buffets throughout the day were very good

Upon arrival, at 15:00, there was an apparent issue with their system for checking-in guests, resulting in being left standing around for an hour and a half. During this time, the staff did not feel it necessary to communicate anything to the guests or offer any assistance and left everyone to stand and wait. The drinking water bottle was left empty the entire time. When it came our turn to check-in, no apology or explanation was given until asked. Embarrassingly unprofessional.

I was told I would receive various benefits from staying at the hotel including 2 nights at the restaurant, robe and slippers for the spa, bottled water and snacks in the room. I asked staff three separate times for the items promised to no avail, with one staff member being quite rude. This hotel is very dated, food quality is poor and facilities uninviting.

Most of the staff are very polite. The food and drinks menu have many options. The location is fairly close to the city.

Unfortunately in the adjoining room they accomodate a family with a small baby and as is a interconecting door between the rooms is no soundproof so i was feeling the baby is crying in my room. I explained this in the survey and asked the reception to contact me to see what we can do regarding this but unfortunatelly nobody has contacted me. Now after I checked out they said I should have gone to the reception in person to request a room change as they do not know who recieved my survey maybe tge management and why nobody done nothing. The indoor pool is very small maybe 30 m2 I was thinking is a proper pool not a kids pool and the dimension I think should be shown as is misleading.

Our room was spacious and quiet. The food was very good.

The hotel decor is rather tired and the buffet restaurant is like a canteen.

Good breakfast choice, though no salmon.

Food was no better than ok, though we didn’t expect more for the money. Room towels awful. Room cleaning was only ok. Not able to pay as you go for branded drinks. You could only upgrade for an extra £100, which wasn’t worth it as we’re not big drinkers.

Everything, service was great. Will be back again in future!

- that we were rewarded for being genius customers with a superior bracelet - we were accommodated before the start of check-in - many others - we thank Mira for taking care of the children (especially by Mayra)

the spa can be improved

Lovely hotel, good location, nice room and friendly staff. Nicely kept grounds and pool area. Good selection of food at the buffet most of which was hotter than has been our experience at other hotel buffets. Complimentary drinks upgrade due to having booked through booking.com was much appreciated.

The carpet in our room was looking somewhat worn as was the bathroom suite. I’m sure that Pestana will have a maintenance program in place to address this. The “juices” at breakfast were appalling and were a serious let down given the otherwise high standard of food and drink.

Stunning hotel, lovely botanical garden and dizajn of pools Tasty food and drinks- fantastic selection (beer, cider, wines, sparking wine, soft cold and hot drinks on help yourself service; rest of the drinks including cocktails bar service Shuttle bus twice per day to Funchal city centre If you go out for a day -u can ask for picnic lunch to take with you Entertainment team and activities great as well We had fantastic holiday My husband said I choose very well.
