Suzy and Colin welcomed us into their gorgeous home. A pretty cottage, just off the village Green and a minutes walk to the village pub. The room was fantastic with original features, a very comfortable king size bed and a lovely seating area by the window. The bathroom was spacious and had both a bath and a separate shower. What can I say about breakfast other than it was fantastic. Lots of choice, vey good quality ingredients and the setting was beautiful; in the dining room with views out over the garden. Lots of walks in the local area and a short drive to Thirsk. We loved our stay. Thank you Suzy and Colin for making us feel at home and we look forward to staying again.

Suzy and Colin make a great team and were lovely hosts. We received a very warm welcome into their home and we felt very relaxed as soon as we arrived. Our room was delightful, well equipped with a super comfy Kings size bed. The breakfast was exceptional too, with a good range on offer.

Breakfast was really good. Enjoyed with a lovely view of the garden. Situation just off the A19 suited us ideally. Very quiet location, Easy parking. Comfortable bed / sitting room with tea coffee and biscuits.

The property is in a quiet convenient location within the village. Room was clean, spacious with a comfy bed, seating area and with a decent sized bathroom including bath as well as a shower. You have your own entrance off the main drive but can access the breakfast area easily from the main hallway inside. Suzy and Colin make you feel right at home, right down to offering to book dinner at one of the many pubs within reasonable driving distance, advising on places of interest etc using their local knowledge gained from many years of living in the area. Breakfast is full of choices, well cooked and well presented, Colin does a fabulous poached egg! They engage in a friendly, professional way without being intrusive. Overall a lovely stay.

The breakfast was 2nd to none, guidance on places to visit were brilliant & the personal touch of booking a table at a recommended pub location each evening was great. Overall a very relaxing, quite & comfortable holiday experience.

The owners were very welcoming and friendly and made us feel very much at home in their beautiful house. Very quiet location. Our bedroom was lovely so comfy with everything you could want. The en-suite was huge and well equipped with plenty of hot water, clean towels daily. Extremely clean. Breakfast was cooked to perfection and delicious with a superb view of the garden and birds.

Our 3 day stay in the Swan cottage of Suzy and Collin was really excellent. With their long standing experience in the hospitality sector they are perfect hosts: making you feel at home, preparing a good breakfast, providing good tips for trips and dinner and of course providing a nice, spacious room (with spacious shower) in their 18th century cottage in a nice small historical village about 20km north of York.

Nothing really, but be aware that there are no shops in the village itself.

Idyllic accommodation in a wonderful location. plenty of great pubs/restaurants around, one less than a two minute walk. But what made our stay special was our amazing hosts, so accommodating and genuinely helpful.

The location was perfect just a 5 minute drive to my partners daughter. cottage is beautiful and suzy and Colin are a fantastic couple they could not have done any more than they did to make our stay perfect a big 10 from us they made us feel at home from the minute we met them until we said goodbye.a very warm and cozy atmosphere cannot praise them enough thank you both very much and see you soon 😊

Warm welcome and little touches that are above the usual standard: proper milk with tea in the room, extremely comfortable bed, nice magazines in the room, really lovely breakfast with decent tea pot and lovely china (tea really does taste better).
