Super zentral gelegen um die Stadt zu erkunden. Alles ist sehr zentral und einladent zum herumspazieren. Wurde sehr herzlich empfangen, bekam hilfreiche Tipps. Zimmer sind ruhig, mit allem ausgestattet was es braucht. Kleines Cafe im Haus beziehungsweise ist es möglich selber Cafe oder Tee zu machen und dann, auf dem Balkon geniessen. Wurde sogar bei der Abreise mit dem Auto zur Bushaltestelle gebracht. Nochmals herzlichen Dank für diese unetgeltliche Fahrt und Hilfeleistung. Nach einer guten halben Stunde Wartezeit sass ich dann im Buss und der Gastgeber winkte zum Abschied.

Awesome location, room and hosts. Merica greeted me as soon as my cab pulled up, and was there as we pulled away, too. I felt so taken care of throughout my stay. The hosts are so personable and welcoming, which I really appreciated traveling as a solo female. It was so nice talking with them and even meeting their 1-1/2 yr old grandson, (who is an awesome, adorable fist bumper.) They offered info and directions for the Heritage Week events. The room I got was great. It was very clean. I felt very cozy and absolutely loved it. Common area included a hot water kettle, tea and coffee. The location is amazing, and I’m so happy I decided to spend a little more to stay at a great place inside the fort. Close to look out over the ocean, catch the beautiful sunsets, and close to the great cafes, restaurants and shops. Very enjoyable visit. Highly recommend staying here.

Een heerlijke kamer met airco, een ventilator goede bedden middenin het Fort! Super locatie! De eigenaren zijn de meest lieve mensen die we hebben ontmoet! Niets was teveel. Een echte aanrader!

Merikar! He was the best! Truly, whenever there was wildlife that you could see from the balcony he would let my children know. We saw families of monkeys pass by and peacocks and lizards down below in the gutters. 😄 everything on the fort is in walking distance and has two coffee shops right on same block. Plenty of amazing restaurants and I suggest you ask around to find the ones owned locally because these are gorgeous heritage properties that have been in their families for generations. We especially loved Al Forno for breakfast and Church st for dinner. Leave room for a different gelato or ice cream shop every night. 🤣 mornings are great for snorkeling on the beach below the wall. Great variety of fish!! Just bring your own snorkeling gear as we did because as far as we found there is none available on the fort.

Nothing. We knew going into it that we would be in attic type rooms to fit our family of six and they were so cute and cozy. Merikar even dropped all six of us and luggage off at the bus station in his own car when we left.🤩 Best home stay ever!

Merica was super nice and the apartment was perfect for the three of us (it could fit 5). Super central and cheap!

Excellent location, very easy to reach from the train/bus station and a short walk away from many attractions/restaurants. Mr Marikar is a very friendly host who was very helpful and responded immediately to all our requests. Even stored my medicines in his fridge and administered my eye drops. Organised a trishaw to take us to the Unawatuna beach and negotiated a very good rate for the trip. Took the family room, advertised to sleep 4 but could have fitted 5 into the comfortable beds.

The room has a sloping roof and the ceiling is low on one side so just be careful not to bump your head! :) It was not an issue for our party of three though.

The owner was amazing. Wa's really kind and helpful The location in the heart of the fort was perfect for long walks and places to go see and eat in.

The room was so hot due to it being in the lift. The aircon wasn't really helpful, and we had to remove 3 massive cockraoches from the room. We left a day early due to changed plans.

The owner and the balcony

The thing I liked most about this place was the owner, whose name is Merica (That's not the correct spelling). This man was genuinely friendly and went out of his way to drive me to the bus station and put me on the right bus - what a gent'. The room I had was clean a comfortable, although maybe could do with a little renovation.

Some of the fixtures and fittings in the bathroom need to be replaced.

The owner was extremely kind and very interesting to talk to taking us in his car to the bus. What a lovely man. The place was great location and had balcony and tea making facilities.

Great location with very beautiful room that has an authentic vibe of the surrounding architecture! Ideal place to explore the Dutch fort and all the delicious treats!! Very friendly host and a warm welcome from the entire family!

Second time staying at Lighthouse Guest. Fabulous, Marikar and his family are so lovely and helpful. Location is great and accommodation perfect for a stay in Galle Fort. We will be back 🙏

We have been travelling sri lanka a few weeks now and this was the best place we stayed. the room is clean and has warm showers. Perfect location in the fort and remains very quiet for a good nights sleep. we felt this was the safest place we have stayed. Marikar was the perfect host, very good English, he makes sure you have his contact details to get in contact with him if you need, he’s available when required and if you have any questions ask him. we hired mopeds for 2 days to explore the surrounding areas Marikar rang around a few places and took us to get them. he dropped us off at the train station and made sure we got on the correct train. perfect place to stay and lovely family, very welcoming and friendly. thank you so much!

superb location. Very easy to explore around Galle fort.

The hosts were exceptionally friendly and helpful. Clean and well maintained rooms with en suite bathrooms. They prepared a delicious breakfast at our request and even gave us extra time for the checkout. Easy access to the lighthouse beach and quite a few options for dining and shopping close by.

Nice place to stay Cost effective

Excellent location and Marikar was a wonderful host. He picked us up from the train station in his car and made an effort to help our boys spot the peacocks and monkeys out of the balcony. Our rooms had plenty of space and we enjoyed being in the middle of historic Galle. Marikar was also very helpful in arranging taxis.
