Our stay at the Blue Jewel was absolutely perfect. Everything from the incredible home, with all of its amenities, the tentative staff, the location and access to beach and town, made our 50th Birthday celebration for me and 4 other friends absolutely perfect. There were 15 of us in our group, the rooms were spacious and gave everyone the ability to spread out and have their own spaces. We loved lounging by the pool, it was our favorite hang out, watching the monkeys in the trees, and then walking the short steps to the beach in the afternoon. We had the pleasure of having Omar and Ulysses prepare meals for us on several nights, delicious and so convenient. The photos and description of the house don’t do it justice…we always felt safe, with 25 hour security on site and someone always available to assist us if we needed something. The beds were insanely comfortable, towels good quality, kitchen well appointed. This vacation was about balancing relaxation and adventure, and this house was the center of that experience. The Blue Jewel is really the gem of Tamarindo! If you are thinking about booking this house for a larger group vacation, do not hesitate…Beatriz, Marianna, and Donna helped get us set up, answered all our questions, and helped us arrange chef services, excursions, and transportation to and from the airport with people arriving at multiple times from different locations. I highly recommend this home for anyone considering a vacation rental in Costa Rica.

Fourteen of us stayed here in July and the property and suppot staff made our bi-annual family trip one of our best! Usually a very active family we were quite content to stay 'at home' in Tamrindo appreciating the surfing, walking along the beach (at low tide), beautiful sunsets, preparing meals together in the wonderful well-stocked with hard goods kitchen, talking around the big dining tables, relaxing and having fun in the pool, having our own quiet space when needed in the many lovely bedrooms, etc. Over half of us are fluent in Spanish so talking with the support staff (who are WONDEFUL) was informative. I would suggest adding some additional information to those who book the property. Grocery shopping is easiy done in town. The kitchen does not include condiments so you will need to provide your own. The ice maker in the refrigrator provides a minimum of ice daily so be sure to use the provided ice trays. We did find the concierge, Marianna, only contacted us several days before our arrival so we had to go to Greg, the mgr, who responded quickly and thoroughly to our questions, We tried to arrange the use of a chef through her and were unable to ever get arrangements made. She seemed only interested in arranging excursions. But even with that one blemish we rate our experience at the Blue Jewel as one of the best of twelve other family trips over twenty years and would highly recommend it. We began missing it as soon as we boarded our planes.

Best place for large group in Tamarindo. Excellent service!

If you are considering this house, do it! There were 11 of us from age 16-67. This house is the best of both worlds, privacy and convenience of a home and service like a hotel or resort! We rented two golf carts and easily navigated town. Upon arrival staff had fulfilled the requested grocery items and we were immediately ready for vacay! Always plenty of clean beach and pool towels. Chairs pulled out to the beach each day. Staff was quietly always around. The only mistake we made was getting massages from the ladies on the beach. This is NOT the Blue Jewels issue as the beach is public and the house staff offered to order massage services... but it was just so convenient to be lying by the beach or pool and be able to get a massage on a whim. On the last day, the masseuse took my daughters necklace off and didn't return. My daughter had fallen asleep and forgot... we left the next day and by the time she realized it was too late and the ladies did not claim to have it despite the house staff trying to retrieve. So that is just a warning because it is sooo tempting to just go to them. We really loved our time and would book again!!!

The service was top notch from the time we arrived to the time we left. Security was great! The beach was very nice for the old and the young. The walk to town super easy and safe. Everyone commented that it was the best beach vacation we've taken. There was plenty of rooms and beds where everyone (16 adults & 2teens) were exceedingly comfortable. I would recommend this property to all that are looking for a relaxing and safe vacation. Would do it again in a heartbeat!!!!

The house is in a perfect location for our family. Our stay was wonderful and the staff at the house was great by helping us with the large group we had. The location of the house near town and the direct access to the beach is perfect.

Our family loved the house, staff, and location. We highly recommend this place. It is a beautiful massive home on the beach and a short walk to town. We had 7 adults and 9 kids (ages 4-17) and stayed in the main house. The guest house has an additional 2 bedrooms with several beds. The beds were very comfortable, and the AC units appeared new. Every room had a bathroom and large TV. The property is gated with 24-hour security; we felt safe the entire trip. The WiFI worked great during our stay; we streamed music and TV streaming services. Some US-based content was blocked, but we still found a few movies for the kids to watch in the theater. Every day the staff would place chairs on the beach in the shade and keep them open for our use. The house layout allowed for many areas to sit/lay in the shade and plenty of sunny spots around the pool. In the afternoon, most of the pool is shaded, which provides a nice break from the sun. The staff cleaned the pool daily, along with maintaining the entire property. Mariana, Donna, and Mabel were all great. Our rooms were cleaned daily, and the shared spaces were sometimes multiple times. We always had plenty of pool/beach towels clean throughout our stay. We booked meals with Chef Ulysses and Evelyn, and the food was excellent. They did everything from buying the food to cleaning the plates. They really removed the stress from mealtimes for our large group. The leftovers typically provided us with a snack/lunch the following day, so it was kind of like getting two meals worth. If we return, we will absolutely book them for at least a meal daily. Also, Evelyn has a friend who makes fantastic sugar donuts (donas)! Mariana/Donna helped coordinate several things for us. Airport transfers, a sunset cruise with Marlin del Rey (walkable), a 6-seat electric golf cart from Rent Me Tamarindo (dropped off/picked up), surf lessons (beach out front), and a zipline at Monkey Jungle (picked us up at the house). The beach in front of the home is amazing, with very nice sand. During low tide, the beach has to be over 300 ft of pure sand. The property had four boogie boards, lots of pool toys, beach toys, and a couple of portable beach chairs left by prior guests. Not having to travel with these or purchase them in town was nice. Overall it was a great time and experience. Thank you!

I don't know what else to say other then this place was awesome!! I've never experienced a place like this before. Great location, right on the beach with access. This place is gorgeous. Has all the amenities you will need. Plenty of room for all your house guests to enjoy with there own restrooms and privacy. Our bed was so comfortable we thought we were at home. We had our wedding here and we couldn't of asked for a better experience. Everyone had a great time. Such a great time we didn't want to leave. Got to enjoy just relaxing in the yard, watching and listening to the birds, monkeys and iguanas. Truly an experience we will never forget about. I'm ready to rebook the place already cause it was so great. The staff there did a wonderful job. Security was always there to open the front gate and make sure we had no issues and everything was secure. Along with the house cleaning staff were there everyday making sure the house was clean and coffee was made in the morning. You barely noticed them. They were like invisible but there when you needed them along with security. Donna the house coordinator was awesome as well. She helped with the scheduling of getting our family to and from the airport along with helping us with planning excursions and making sure our shuttles were there to pick us up and bring us back. She also helped with setting up the rooms for us depending on what we needed for the kids. Whatever we needed Donna, the house staff and security were there for us. I highly highly recommend this place. 5 stars all the way and then some. Wonderful place to stay and I hope I can do it again soon one of these days. Our second trip to the Blue Jewel and we are already planning our next trip! The house is perfect with large bedrooms, incredible indoor and outdoor spaces and private pool. The location is second to none right on the beach! You can walk out and surf right in front of the house and can take a short walk down the beach to all that Tamarindo has to offer. And the staff is absolutely amazing! They keep the house incredibly clean and secure! Can’t wait to be back! Pure Vida! The Wisconsin Crew

We had a family reunion of 23 people with grandchildren ages 6 to 24. The property met all our expectations and was actually prettier than the pictures presented. The staff was amazing and the chef and food delicious. The beach in front of the property is nice sand and our children enjoyed boogie boarding, surfing, and playing ball. The porches were perfectly situated to provide shade all day, and the pool was well Utilized. Each bedroom has its own bathroom, which was very convenient. Would not hesitate to recommend this property or even return.

This was my second time staying at The Blue Jewel. We hired Ulysses the private chef to make our meals and he was absolutely fantastic! The food he and his assistant created was phenomenal and I would hire his services again without hesitation. We used Warren with Sloth Tamirando for our transportation and excursions and he was amazingly professional and super great.

From the communication with property contact Mari to our housekeeper Mabel as well as the Chefs Ulyssis and Evelyn everything was simply outstanding. Everyone was accommodating, resourceful and hospitable. We were a group of 19 and everyone had a wonderful time. We highly recommend the location, and all it's amenities. This property is conveniently located to restaurants; bars; shopping and tour attractions. This was our second trip to Costa Rica and we truly had a great time again. Pura Vida.

The house is absolutely beautiful and comfortable! The staff was wonderful and very attentive! The location on the beach is perfect and being able to walk to the restaurants on the beach was super convenient. We look forward to going back!

We took advantage of the chef services several days and thoroughly enjoyed the meals prepared. The location was close to many other food options. All members of my family would highly recommend this property.

The Blue Jewel exceeded our expectations. It is absolutely beautiful! The house was cleaned every day, the staff was AMAZING, the bedrooms were all beautiful and spacious. Our kids took surf lessons right in front of the house. The Blue Jewel helped us hire a catering and bartending company that cooked all of our meals. The food and the staff was amazing. We would definitely stay at the Blue Jewel again.

Our group of adult couples had a fantastic time at Blue Jewel. The house is beautiful, location is fantastic right on beach and very close to town. Staff is super helpful and attentive without being obtrusive. We hired Ulysses to cook most of our meals and couldn't have been happier with the delicious food he prepared. Will definitely return!

This was our second trip to Tamarindo and nothing beats this spot! The house is great for large groups with numerous king suites, lots of common space indoors and outdoors, a great pool and lounge area and an unbeatable location. Best location in Tamarindo, we could walk right out to the beach to relax, swim and surf and also walk downtown in about 10 minutes! The staff is absolutely amazing! They keep the house very clean and secure. We also booked the chef for some of our meals and would highly recommend them for meals at the house at the large outdoor dining table. We had three families with young children stay at this location for one week. We had an absolutely wonderful time. The location is perfect for a walk into town, but you still have enough privacy to feel calm and relaxed. The house has ample space with humongous bedrooms, our children loved to watch movies in the evening after dinner. We love to sit out by the pool, we had a day where a troop of monkeys was hanging out around the house and there are large iguanas and lizards to watch as well. We hired a chef for a week and we thought that that was such a great investment and made our vacation truly relaxing! The entire group would not hesitate to come back, we had a wonderful time! The house staff are wonderful, friendly, happy to accommodate any small or large request. We felt safe, and the amenities were great.

We stayed at this property for my 40th bday with good friends and it was everything we were looking for. The house manager was amazing and so helpful with anything we needed. The staff and chefs that they hired were incredible. They kept the house and grounds so clean and made the most amazing food. We had the best time and already miss it. The location is really great and walking distance from lots of restaurants/shopping and the little town. We would definitely stay here again and highly recommend it. Everything was wonderful! Greg, Donna and all the staff were so responsive to our needs. The house is lovely and kept very well! Perfect location! Ask for Arnold if you would like a chef. He was good! We really enjoyed our time there and would love to go back!

The property is more than perfect! I can't say enough great things about this place. Let me first talk about the location. It is on the beach! You can walk out the back and walk directly to the restaurants on the beach. We found that easier than than walking on the street. Second, the rooms. Each room had it's own bathroom! Every guest in the house had their privacy. Third, the staff. Friendliest and attentive staff you'll ever meet. There is a total of 7 staff members that keep this place consistently amazing, safe, and secure. Everyday the maids cleaned each room/bathroom. Fourth, if you have the chance to order meals I would 100% recommend. Hands down, the best tastiest food we ate all week were the meals that were prepared by the chef at the villa. Our group had a great time staying at the Blue Jewel in Tamarindo!

We loved everything about this house. Just steps from the beach with an amazing staff and chef. Everyone went out of their way to make sure we were comfortable and having a great time. A big thank you to Donna (property manager) and Arnold (head chef) for making this vacation awesome.

The house staff and house managers Greg & Donna are SPECTACULAR. I've traveled all over the world and I can tell you that this experience was up at the top of my list. Donna was there for our every need and truly wanted to make our stay one that we'd remember forever. They will arrange whatever you need and make your stay having you feel like a king or a queen. The house is incredible and it's located in the best part of town. I can't wait to come back again. This is the "A+" team managing the "A+" house. We hired house staff, that cooked for us as well. Make sure that you request Arnold and Luis. These guys will help make your stay one to remember.

We couldn't hope for anything better than the villa we rented. The location is optimal for beach, restaurants or simply strolling along. The security was 24/7 and the we felt very safe...
